Before retiring on Sunday night, DH and I went to the Match Your Mate show. It was hilarious, but I just know if we had been picked, we would have been even funnier
. Next time, DH and I stand on the tables in hopes of being seen.
During this, SIL was in her cabin reading while girls were in our cabin sleeping. They did not want to go to the kids' clubs, they just wanted to sleep. I couldn't blame them, we had been busy in Key West.
The seas appeared calm, I fell asleep quickly, but at 2:30 a.m., I was awoken by a constant THUD, THUD, THUD that seemed to be coming from below us. The floor shook with each THUD. We all tried to ignore it and go back to sleep, although it took me awhile as I am a light sleeper. We were annoyed, wondered what the people below us were doing, but just put it off as an annoyance that was temporary. Little did we know!
The next morning, it was Monday, a day at sea. What an absolutely relaxing day! I had fruit for breakfast from the fresh fruit area, as I was saving up for the Palo Brunch. DH decided to eat a full breakfast anyway, since brunch was at 10:30 and he did not want to pass out from hunger before then.
SIL took the girls to the pool while we headed out to Palo's, but they went back to the room and hung out watching TV and doing homework as the pool was very, very crowded.
I really liked the Champagne Brunch. I don't remember who our server was, but he was nice, the food was, wow, wonderful, so much to choose from, and the champagne was good, too, although I am easy to please as we never go out to dinner nor do we drink (we save all year to be able to take nice trips, so going out or buying alcohol is not something we normally do). I did however notice that there was a large strip of wood missing from a window sill near out table. I heard from a couple near us at dinner two evenings later that they had also noticed it when they had dinner there. It's kind of like when you go to WDW and you notice that there are light bulbs out all over the place, and just a couple years ago that never happened? It just looked bad, but did not detract from our enjoyment of brunch!
After lunch (by the pool this time, kids wanted pizza and burgers, and of course ice cream), we did the Mickey 200 vegetable race. It was a blast, and my girls actually won! We received a medal and some pins, and I took a photo of our winning race potato. We could not believe that we won!
Next, back to the room to do some homework, but I ordered Mickey Bars from room service to keep the girls focused. When you order these from room service, they might tell you that they don't have them, but if you are really nice and mention that you have knowledge that they are delivered from the dining rooms, you should be able to have some sent to your room. This is what worked for me. SIL however was not successful in getting one sent to her room, so I ordered some more for her. It was her first taste of a Mickey Bar, and she thought it was delicious. We already knew that!
Dinner that night was formal, DH was complaining about having to wear his suit. Apparently, he neglected to try it on at home, even though I had asked him to numerous times. Turns out he seems to have put a bit of weight on since he last wore his suit (10 years ago?), and the vest would not go across him and the pants were tight and hard to button. Oh well, this is why men should always listen to their wives!
He still wore the suit, minus the vest, and off we went in our finery to dinner. Us females love getting dressed up, and my 12 year old looked so grown up, I just could not believe that this was my little baby before me! She is even taller than me now, when did this happen! She says I am shrinking, she isn't really growing. Where does the time go? Reality really hits when you see your daughter standing in front of you, looking older than you imagine her in your mind's eye.
Ok, enough of that sappiness, you don't want to hear that!
After dinner, we headed off to watch Santa Clause 2. After all, we are on a cruise ship, shouldn't we watch movies instead of enjoying the cruise stuff?
Oh well, it was a cute movie, the family enjoyed it, and afterwards we were all tired and went off to bed. Yes, we are a wild bunch, aren't we?
