12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

The board is CERTAINLY quiet this weekend. It is 32 days until the cruise. Has anyone gotten either the birthday or bon voyage stateroom celebration package? If so, what did the door magnets look like? Also, did you think it worth the cost? Have a magical day. LD

I just found it on Kathleens spreadsheet, thanks, wow are you organized!!

Organized, no! But I love to plan :) And thanks, glad it's of use. As I mentioned to Joy, I left in the "detailed" chart just to give an idea of what DH and I have planned and estimated, to give everyone an example if they so desire.

We made our last trip to Total Wine and have our stash for the stateroom, plus our wedding champagne for brunch at Palo (since they don't carry it on the ship).

We also now have the stateroom bill completely saved up for as of today!

Don't forget US people, if you haven't already, no matter who you're voting for, to vote tomorrow!

So Halloween is done, our family picture of our Christmas cards were done on Saturday. We have a Work Christmas party at the end of the month then the trip. My mind is constantly on clothes and what we all have and don't have yet.

I also have to get my Christmas shopping done. I have started so that is good. My ds wants Guitar Hero World Tour and it is impossible to find. Maybe he will have to settle for Rock Band instead.

We have nothing planned for this trip for a change. Just doing what ever and relaxing. No excursions planned. Might hit the spa for a couples massage again. But that is it. Just wonder around when we are in ports or stay on the boat.

Okay, the wristbands are ordered -- the estimated arrival date is the day before Thanksgiving. I will bring them to the port with me...

I was reviewing my confirms and saw that Happy Limo had us down for a 10 am pickup! Yikes -- so I called and asked to move it up to 9 am and she was reluctant to do so...saying that I might have to pay for wait time if we got to the port and they weren't open to taking passengers yet... yeah... not... I said that last time we had an early pickup and we got to the port after they opened... I think they wanted to use the cars to get people from the port to the airport after they got off the ship in the morning, and give them time to get over to do pickups afterward.... anyway, we compromised on 9:15 after I kinda mentioned I know how long it's supposed to take and that I know the terminal is open.... I told her I had a BUNCH of people waiting to meet up with me at 10:30! :)

So over the weekend, I remembered that I had ordered matching tropical Disney outfits from Disney Store last year.... dug those out... my dress fits like sausage stuffing UGH... but the rest of the family will look good. CHECK! We'll use that on our first Parrot Cay night (hopefully the 1st night).

I still need to get over to the fabric store to find some pirate-y fabric to make something for Pirate night...

I am soooo excited -- in exactly ONE MONTH from right now, I will be at the airport, waiting to board the plane!!!

Also, on the wristbands.. I did order extras, so let me know if you want more... Turns out that it was almost the same price to go up to the next breakpoint level for pricing so instead of 85, I ordered 100, mostly in adult sizes, but a few extra in medium and small as well.

Did we settle on a time/place for our meet and greet on the ship? At the sailaway party?

Any other meet-n-greets during the course of the cruise? Maybe a group Pirate Night pic in between the 2 dining rotations? Or a formal night group pic?

should we start a list of who is planning to do which activities like the tastings and the cooking demonstrations, etc? DVC members going to the presentation?

Questions, comments, suggestions, concerns????

Two questions:

1. Where can I find the schedule for tastings and such?
2. What time do the pools close on the ship?

Gina

I am also up for any time any place for the meet! :goodvibes We are just EXCITED to go!

We will definitely be doing at least one of the tastings. If my husband asks me one more time if we need to preregister for these like the excursions.......

It could be fun to get a group together. Or maybe we could even do our own version of a wine tasting, everyone bring 1 bottle and meet somewhere. Just a thought, I don't even know if we are allowed to do this on the ship, bring a full bottle out of the room. Anyone in the Cat 1 on our meet that would host?

Last trip, our group had a bunch of meet and greets scheduled, and to be honest, I didn't make a single one except for the Pirate photo... I think the problem with traveling with kids is that we have to keep things a bit fluid just in case things happen.... we are on vacation, after all, and it's a time for our kids to come first... so I am personally reluctant to be "in charge" of the meet and greets, just because I may not show up myself...

Anyone else want to tackle these?

I know we are planning on bringing very formal clothing. I would be in favour of a formal night group picture. I'm getting excited!

Also, remember to vote tomorrow!

I think the idea of the formal night sounds good - whoever is around - but who would do the photo (Joy, aren't you a photographer? ;) - - oh, wait! Then you wouldn't be in the picture!!) I haven't done this before. so who would take the picture? The Disney photogs? What if everyone met at 7:45 in the atrium lobby, near the elevators, on formal night? (Sunday?) And for the first photo, what about 4:45, on Deck 10, on Saturday during the Sail Away? :cool1:
I figured I would get the ball rollin'!! No one will offend if they want to offer up another plan!!

Where do you find out when the different tastings are? I did notice the Margarita Tasting (on the spreadsheet) on Monday! :woohoo: And the beer tasting is just before that.....and Palo Brunch earlier still.....I think it is safe to say I may be pretty useless on Monday!!

I like the idea of a group wine tasting....maybe, to avoid any nasty glances from the crew :sad2: we could ask if we could sign up for the same wine tasting time....? Not that I wouldn't LOVE to see a Cat 1 room!!!:wizard: Nice idea POR0907!!

WHOEVER YOU LIKE, DON'T FORGET TO VOTE!!!

I wouldn't mind doing any of the tasting's.............Let me know what everyone wants to do..........I'm in.. :surfweb: :tinker: :mickeyjum
