Your deffinately not the only one that can't sleep! Last night I was able to because I was exhausted from my work week. But I know tonight will be a whole other story!! Still not finished packing....will get the cosmetic stuff ect tommorow morning (all females here except DH) LOL Can't wait for the warm weather!! Thanks for the weather update Forever42!

Hey everyone! Checking in from Universal! We spent the day at Islands of Adventure and then Universal Studios. Admittedly I am a Disney snob... it only took us about an hour and a half to decide we'd seen just about everything... so we decided instead of heading over to DTD tonight, that we are going to head over to WDW and park hop tomorrow! Yep, that's an expense I hadn't budgeted for, but I figure we'll buy 5 day park hoppers and use the 4 days next time we come visit, which obviously will be again!

Now, my big goober mistakes... While I was switching around carryons, I must have not repacked the ziploc bag with our cameras in it -- DH's brand new Canon Elph was in there, along with DD and DS's cameras... I am SO PISSED at myself. I also forgot the charger for my Olympus waterproof camera so I am having to use it sparingly so that I'll be able to use it when we are out doing water stuff on the cruise.

SO, tomorrow I am going to see what the Main Street camera shop has available for cameras... and if I don't see anything, I might wait till we get on the ship and purchase one of theirs... GRRR... how's that for another almost $2k

BUT you only live once and I haven't vacationed in 2 years, and since we are hitting WDW this time, we'll forego the trip to Disneyland that we were going to take later in 2009, which would make up for the money we spend on parkhoppers.

Thankfully, I still have my big (work) camera but it gets heavy carting it around all day! I really hadn't planned on schlepping it everywhere but I have no choice now.

I am thinking maybe instead of a grocery stop on the way to the port, if we can get the driver to stop at a Target, I can pick up a case of water AND a new camera for cheaper....hmmmm...

So glad you arrived safely!! And now I'm 2nd guessing all the packing I just finished!! LOL I swear I am a worry wart!! But will have to do the same in the end if I forget something we really need! Keeping fingers crossed!! We had thought about universal and decided we could'nt not do WDW with xmas decs!! So we will be there 1 day for MVMCP!! Know I won't get much sleep tonight!! As they say in the commercial I'm Too Excited Too Sleep!!

I am officially packed now.....hopefully I will not have to open them until I am in Orlando tomorrow.

My family is in bed already. I should be to but I am going to watch E.R and do my nails.

We have to be up early tomorrow so this probably be my last post until I see you all on the boat.

Okay, someone pointed me to the thread where they talk about what cameras are sold onboard, and it looks like they have an Olympus that uses the same battery as mine, so I think I will wait till we board and buy that one. It's one of the cheaper ones too... and it can become DS's new camera and DD can have DS's old one, which was my old old old point and shoot... in any case, I had wanted to get the kids a new camera because DD was using a POS cheap plastic one from years ago, but now that they are old enough to take care of nicer ones....

Anyway, I think I will have my problem solved once I get on board... another reason to LOVE THE MAGIC!!!

Hi guys got in really early this morning Dec 4 at 5:30am. 1/2 an hr ahead of schedule.
When we went to get our ride on the ME we were only ones on the bus. I told our friend that I had arrange this because I wanted it to be magical experince LOL.
When we got to our resort at 6:30am they had our rooms ready for us. We were pretty amazed that they had one ready that early.
We took a 3hr nap then we headed out to the Garden Tea Room for some excellent tea.
After we went to MVMCP. Boy we had a great time. We only had to wait no more than 5 minute for any ride. Best way to spend your time in the Magic Kingdom. I think I OD on hot chocolate with marshmellows.
Well we are going to bed now. Heading to AK then onto dinner at the California Grill.
Everyone who is traveling today Dec 5 same journey. The weather is great here.

Joy, we missed you yesterday. It seemed like the Captain of our Ship (sorry for the pun) was missing. Glad you got to FLA safely. Sorry about the Camera. Sounds like you have a good handle on how to solve the problem!Thank you again for all you have done to make this cruise so memorable!!!!!!
I am ALMOST packed. It is 2:44 a.m. in Michigan and I am soooooooo excited (Just like the commercial) that I can't sleep!!!!!!
Also glad (thanks for the weather report) that the weather in FLA will be in the 70's. It is about 25 degrees here and I can't wait til I smell that FLA air and feel the warmth!!!!!
Since this is my last OFFICIAL post as your Countdown lady, I just want to say how MUCH I have enjoyed doing it for the last few months!!! I can't wait to start to meet each of you and put faces to our post names!!!!! Maybe we should have nametags that say our name and our post names.
See you all in Florida. T minus 4 hours to start to the airport. Help, I've forgotten to pack something and I can't buy it on the boat .......LOL

Joy, if your Olympus uses the same battery as mine, I'm happy to charge it for you. Mine is an underwater one too, can't recall the model number. Got the new credit cards, but they say they need to be activated from my home phone. Doh!!!!

We've packed the car up, saying goodbye to the cats, and heading out. Going to grab lunch with a friend as we give him our keys to feed the cats, then the bank, and then (don't laugh) one more Target trip.

We may be posting from the port because I think DH convinced me to let him bring his laptop (get this ... he wants to bring his laptop... to deck 4.... to do some programming... FOR FUN! So if you see someone pecking away at their laptop near the pool or something, that's DH).

We're here!

We got to the hotel a few hours ago, had a drink down at the pool bar (there's a fraternity at the Radisson ), went to Grills (DELICIOUS!!), and sat at the lobby bar and had a beer with DH.

We saw a RC ship go by, wonderful!

We're in the room making our family calls now, watching TV.

I'm pushing DH to go to the meet tomorrow

We'll see you guys this week, either way. I think I'm wearing a red and white sundress with my bathing suit underneath, and DH....who knows. I think khaki shorts and a navy polo.

But we'll find people. Either way, we're in 6042 still

Hi there. We arrived in Orlando Friday afternoon and are spending the night at the Marriott near the hotel. We got in just in time to take the kids swimming for a little while before the sun went down and cooled the water off, and that was great! We're heading over to the port in a few hours and I just can't wait.

Joy - Sorry about the camera. Our first disney cruise I forgot the charger to my Olympus Stylus, but luckily one of our AAA group had the same camera so she charged my battery for me. This trip, I was running around frantic yesterday morning looking for the charger and extra battery for my small Canon camera, so I wouldn't have to bring the Nikon DSLR with me. I finally found it at about the last minute, but unfortunately I didn't realize the camera only had the *small* 1GB memory card in it instead of the 2GB it normally has. But at least I have my laptop with me (said as I type this from the hotel bathroom!) so I can download the pictures from the camera every night if needed.

Safe travels to everyone to the port this morning! We may be wearing matching t-shirts with Joy's t-shirt design on the front.

Hope everyone had a wonderful and magical cruise and made it home safely!! It was great seeing many of you and putting a name to a face.

We're currently rebooked on the 12/11/2010 Western Cruise, though we may push back to 2011 when those dates come out. If any of you are on that one, we may run into each other again.

WELCOME HOME!

I'm still swaying.... just got in about an hour ago. I HIGHLY recommend the day room at the Hyatt if you ever have a late flight post-cruise. It was much nicer than hanging around the terminal.

I had such a GOOD time... our servers were awesome, the weather was soooo fantastic... I have a tan in the middle of winter - woohoo!!!!

I have loads of laundry and unpacking staring at me for tomorrow...sigh....

We did rebook for the 12/11/2010 Western as well, but plan to move it to the new ship or a spring 2011 date. Not sure what school schedule my kids will be on at that point, and I would also LOVE to be at Castaway Cay on a day when it's not overcast and cold (thought it was a nice day anyway).

Does anyone know why the person got medi-vac'd off CC yesterday? Seems like they took so long, that it couldn't have been too serious -- yet they couldn't wait another 12 hours to get to port? I hope they are alright....

Don't forget about the Snapfish group pics sight. I've got to wade through all of mine and upload them.

Okay, is anyone else FREEZING right now????

Hey guys!

We got home yesterday around 9:15am, then I promptly passed out for a few hours, got takeout, and passed out until now. I don't sleep well away from home, so I guess I was catching up..

Joy, I'm so sorry we never met! I seemed to run into nearly everyone else. And I apologize about the Promenade Lounge meet, we WERE going to go but when we finally looked at the time it was 3:30

Otherwise, we had a FANTASTIC time, everything went so well!

The helicopter at CC, a 39 year old man had a heart attack on the last day at sea, and was stabilized, and that was the first chance they had to get him to safety, according to Jerome at Signals. I heard from a few others the "39 and a heart attack" line and that FLOORED me, since people that young rarely survive heart attacks

Our living room just has piles of suitcases and the cats are having fun playing "king of the mountain"..

And yep, time to wade through pictures as well!
