12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

Almost down to under 4 month mark!! :) Still trying to figure out exactly what we want to do in the ports. We're not huge beach people, but love seeing the sights. So maybe that....do like to shop too. Anyone heard of any good tours for sight seeing/shopping? We have the day prior booked and still looking at the 2 following. Way too many things to plan....should have started sooner!! :)

You should see how much I've planned, it's unreal! I have a huge excel document with a color-coded daily chart, my shopping list, my packing list.. :rotfl: My cruise box is almost full!

I think we've (I've) finally narrowed it down to what we're doing in each port. DH isn't a beach person but I am, so I'm forcing a little beach out of him this time  Plus he's told me, just to tell him when to go where and he'll have a good time!

St Maarten: AM Golden Eagle Catamaran, lunch in Marigot at La Vie en Rose, afternoon at Orient Bay

St Thomas: AM DCL Trunk Bay excursion (I have my reasons for doing the DCL and not on our own), Paradise Point tram for lunch and afternoon

Castaway: Jetski in the AM, lunch at Serenity Bay, Parasailing, afternoon time at Heads Up bar :drinking1

I don't have any suggestions for the sightseeing parts, but do check the DCL site since they have new excursions that the Passporter/etc don't have.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes:goodvibes Sounds like everyone is so excited & more than ready! We are too! Our plans are AKL 12/3-6, & MVMCP 12/5. How many Disers will be at MVMCP?

TanaL, were you on the 06 DD cruise that LBGraves organized? That was such a great cruise.

Lots of pixie dust everyone:wizard: I have alot of reading on this post to catch up on! I am looking forward to meeting you all!

Tavia

Hi Tavia! Were you on our DD in 2006 too? Tana and I met on that cruise -- she is awesome  so we had to cruise together again :dance3:

I am not understanding why our cruise is so full... I thought the DD was a more appealing itinerary. And we're still a couple weeks before normal Christmas breaks... maybe there will be some big stars on our cruise or something :)

I just checked the DCL website and all it pulled up (for 4 people) were cat 5 and cat 10s... the cat 5 were guarantee only. Guess there's little likelihood we'll get a complimentary upgrade this time. On the upside, the price is almost $2000 more than we booked it for....so early booking rocks.

Actually you were lucky to pull up anything. Every time I've checked this week I can't even find space for 2. My guess is that people want to go on an Eastern sailing. I'd rather do this than a double dip.

Glad at least one of us has their planned out Forever42! I look and look...just can't decide on anything. Story of my life! ;) I do however know that my DH and dd's will want to do the parasailing at CC. We have had no luck to this point as it's been canceled on the day we're there. So hopefully this time! :) I guess I'm just going to have to really start researching the port excursions though....just have'nt had the time!! :)

Oh, my problem is that I'm such a type A :headache: I'm REALLY trying not to plan every last minute of this cruise, and I've actually "scheduled" time in to relax and do nothing. I'm such a dork! I just love to plan things and worry.

Luckily for me it's just DH and I (we just have "furry kids"), and he doesn't really care what we do, so I'm the one choosing excursions and Palo dates and such.

We're really looking forward to our parasailing, and I hope it doesn't get canceled this time! I know we'll be happy just to relax on the beach if it does though.

I really hope the day is calm and bright at CC. Really the only thing DH is concerned about is parasailing. Ok, maybe I am concerned b/c that is the one thing he has always wanted to do while on vacation. The poor guy has tried the two times we were in Hawaii and both times he was out on the boat and had to come back b/c of too much wind. We can all say small prayers to Mother Nature that we have fair winds and calm seas. :worship:

Deffinately not dorky!! You should see me when usually planning things. Just has been an extremely busy yr so far for us and won't be getting any better with the 3 girls all going in different directions once school starts again!! We need to keep our fingers crossed though that they have a better company for parasailing then they did....because that was one of the main problems last year. And my crew deffinately wants to do it!! And Reneeaiko....it was the rain/storms early in the day along with the indecision of the company that got our cancelled.....so we'll all hope for wonderful...clear weather!! Deb :)

I am so excited about our upcoming trip that I am trying out the forums! MY sister (Latas) go me interested, so now I'm hooked! Can't wait for December!:yay: This trip will be joined by Mom and Sis with my nieces. Great fun!

I have two DS - one 14 and one 15 - all about meeting girls! :lovestruc
I am hopeful they will be able to meet other kids this cruise. Last time, August 2007, we did a four day and it was overwhelming as the time flew by!!. But we had a blast!
I hope they have more time to socialize this time! Anyone out there with teenage boys who might like to offer advice? And anyone coming from the MA area?

I am thinking we will try to do a tour. We have my mother in law and thats about all she will be up for. We saw the butterfly farm on Grand Cayman and it was very enjoyable.

I loved your side quote.....Who are these children and why are they calling me mom?! My kinda gal!! :rotfl2: I hope we get to meet on the cruise!

Welcome Beerhider

Our DS 14 will be joining us on this cruise and is looking forward to meeting other teens. We are so looking forward to this cruise it will be our first 7 night Disney cruise.

Welcome Beerhider! :) I have dd's although not quite in your ds's age range. My 2 oldest will be 20 and 18....very much looking forward to the adult side of things this trip! And my youngest...13 will be in OQ...but hopes that there will be a few kids in her age range for her to hang out with.

Both my DSs really enjoyed The Stack last time....until they found the arcade!! Then we didn't see them for hours at a time! The real shock came when they got their bill at the end of the cruise!! (They had saved for the vacation - that pretty much wiped them out!!) Let's hope they learned!!
I hope they are not as shy this time, and look for new friends!!:) !!

I think 13 is old enough for The Stack....but my kids had each other, otherwise, I don't know I would have encouraged the youngest to go by himself. They are both so shy....I don't know WHERE they get it!!

Hi Forever42!
Where is the Heads Up Bar? Is that on Castaway? This will be our first trip on the Wonder, so I thought maybe it was on board...? Not that I gravitate toward bars, or anything.....:rotfl2:

It is on Castaway, yes!

And not that I gravitate towards bars either ;) We missed so many bars/lounges on our trip on the Wonder, that we mean to check them all out this time! :woohoo:

Welcome beerhider!!! How cool is it that there is a board just for our cruise?? I'm totally addicted. :surfweb:

I'm sure your boys will have a blast and will meet other kids their age onboard. We are taking our daughter but I think she's a little young for your sons..............she's 6! :rotfl: Anyway, just wanted to say hey and welcome you to the thread! See you in December! :cool1:

Beerhider....I have a mixture of both shyness and extemely outgoing in my mix of dd's. My dd 13 wants nothing to do with the teen clubs....she's just not into that type of stuff yet. Likes video games, crafts and such still. I deffinately don't know where mine get their shy side either!! Deffinately not me! ;) We never really gravitated towards the bars/lounges either....although they seemed to find me regularily with trays of drinks from time to time!!:rotfl:
