12/5/09 -- DUMMY -- The Cruise Your Heart Desires Most ; )

I just woke up from being in bed all day. It seems I've fallen mildly ill to something - maybe food poisoning or ??? We just got back from Vegas where one member of our party (of 8) fell ill to food poisoning - and while dining at the restuarant we saw another person tossing cookies - bringing on an immediate end to the meal there. Crazy. I don't know what I have or where I got it - and Alicia threw off a similar "getting ill" sensation yesterday where she pretty much rested all day - while today she is better but Julianna and I began to feel ill - with me taking the day to sleep it off. I had a lie fever and other minor symptoms.

At any rate, it seems no one is home and I am feeling a bit better but not totally healed yet - however I am certainly on the mend.

I've skimmed some of the postings - and we have not planned too much with the developing "issues" everyone is facing. We are reserved for the Med in July of 2010 with all of the others in our family who sailed the PCREPO... however, I predict that will change as some have stated in no uncertain terms that they don't want to spend anything near what we have predicted it will cost (to do it properly). One famly in our group bought a new home to move into and we're looking to be tied up a little financialy - depending upon the outcome of our shopping/investment investigations. Alicia and I have always been "courageous" contrarian types... as we firmly BELIEVE in the resiliancy of America and certain regions/industries.

At any rate - so much for my soap box encouragement to buy low while looking to sell high ....later.

OMG!!!!!!!!! Look what I found in the Sentinel today. Isn't he one of us????

Steph, Darren is the same way. All last year he refused to help with the planning. I think he eventually realized that was a mistake when I kinda bit his head off every time he tried to critique something:rolleyes1
I insisted he plan something for our anniversary in 2008 and he of course waited until the last minute. Now I've got our anniversary celebration planned for 2010:woohoo:

 Jon would be very afraid to critique something I planned..... ;)

What did he plan for your anniversary? Jon would wait until the week before and then try to pull something together....... Of course we haven't been anywhere (over night) without children in close to 12 yrs..........

I hope everyone in your house is feeling better by now! I hate the *yucky* feeling of being sick!

Stephanie,

I still have that Yucky "semi-sick" sensation at midnite Saturday - but have no major symptoms now. I imagine with any luck tomorrow I'll be clear of this illness. I must say though that this sort of surprised me with how debilitating it was. I thought I was 97% recovered earlier today but stood up to find I was actually kind of low energy - quesy and uncomfortable - sort of aches and tender skin to the touch and sensitive to temperatures ... if you know what I mean. I don't like it much - but yesterday when I was delerious from a fever - that was mildly interesting while it lasted...

At any rate - here we are on the door step of another new year - and Alicia is coaching a winter AYSO soccer league again for Julianna. That starts in just under 2 weeks. Next weekend I'll be visiting vegas again for CES with a few old friends... a "guy's only" weekend of sorts that I engage in every now and then. So aside from that - it's just another new year, eh?

Smart man

I had made arrangements for the previous year (2007) for us to go to the GrandFloridian and Victoria and Albert's so 2008 was his turn. He insisted he was going to surprise me:rolleyes1 I only knew we were going away for the weekend, not where. He makes the reservation that Friday for us to go to Williamsburg Virginia on Saturday. Of course he was lucky to get a room in the middle of July, let alone the restaurant reservations:rolleyes: We ran into a ton of traffic on the way and missed the auction they have on Saturday afternoons. Still had a lot of fun though. Of course I had to laugh when he was disappointed that I figured out where we were going as soon as we hit the highway:rolleyes1 We don't go away without the kids much at all. That was how we picked a DCL cruise the first time -so we could celebrate our 10 year anniversary and have them with us.

Hope you're feeling better Crash:flower3:

Deb, how is your wrist:grouphug:

And Desiree:grouphug:

And anyone else who is recuperating or had a health scare:grouphug:

This past month has been rough for so many folks. Hope 2009 brings lots of health for everyone:goodvibes

We finally adopted a dog and brought her home January 1st.

Kayla_size.jpg

I've got to get new batteries for my camera so I can get better pics.

She is 4 and 1/2, housebroken, ignores our cats, and listens to me better than my kids do:laughing:

She is a mutt with a bit of Australian cattle dog.

Can't tell you how many neighbors I've met since we got her. She gets along great with all the neighbor's dogs too:woohoo:

So far only bad habits are she eats the cat food and barks a lot when someone comes to the door. We got a cat tower to keep the cat food away from her. Just gotta get used to the extra door announcements now:rolleyes1

I thought I would let y'all know that so far my brother's blood cell count is staying in the *normal* range! :dance3: :dance3:

It hasn't done that in 2 months!!!!

That's so great to hear! Prayers are still being sent his way that he continues to improve.

So glad to hear this. He's been on my mind the past few days.

Monica, how's your Mom doing? Last I remember reading, she doing pretty well. Hope that's true and that she's recovered nicely.
