12/31 & 1/1 what are my chances???

We just booked fri/sat/sun Dec 28,29,30 & are waitlisted for 12/31 & 1/1. We ONLY booked this 2 weeks ago & were THRILLED to get a BWV bwview room. I waitlisted for BWV/BC/AK&OKW for the next 2 days....what are my chances SOMETHING will come thru for those 2 days? We usually don't BURN weekend points but this will allow us a "free" trip w/2 yr old before she turns 3 & a nice low key trip w/o family (we know parks will be crazy so we'll do some hotel hopping to see decorations).

Anybody have any luck for 12/31 & 1/1 in the past????

Slim to none, to impossible! By this time, I am sure there are MANY more on the waitlist ahead of you, and that date has been sold out for months already on many unit types.

I think Many of the Local DVC members reserve those nights so they can party it up and not drive. Good luck you just never know and it the commercial renters don't get their rentals rented then they will cancel at the 45 day mark most of the time.

I have been on a waitlist for Bwv or any DVC studio 12/30/07-1/2/08 since August for a studio any veiw. I already have 12/28-29/07 in a BWV studio. Hopefully we both get a little . I'm beginning to think I should get a back up. Susan

I think it's more likely to be fewer members waitlisting day by day. It's pretty easy for me to believe there wasn't a waitlist match for the days the OP got - for one thing, two of the nights mentioned were weekend nights.

Secondly, I know if I already had a reservation for that very busy time, I sure wouldn't want to risk changing rooms in the middle of it (or risk losing my reservation altogether due to the new waitlist rules and/or incorrect application of them). At the most, I'd waitlist for my entire vacation.

Good luck to the OP - hope something comes through for you (but if you haven't already, be sure to make a back up plan)!

We are waitlisted for December 31st at VBR any room category, heres hoping. We do have room in Cocoa Beach booked but would love to be at Vero on NYE

I've been waitlisted for a BW view studio since February 1 at 1PM, and it hasn't yet cleared. I have a preferred view studio booked for the night, but I'm still hoping the waitlist clears so that I don't have to move rooms for the one night.

We booked for Dec. 30-Jan 5 at the 11 month window at SSR and had to waitlist for the 31st. It did come through in August. I would not say all hope is lost, but it is a very busy time there. Good luck

I would add SSR to the waitlist. I think that will be your best chance. If you get it, than go on other waitlists.

I just cancelled 2 nights in a 2 bdr at SSR .... 12/31 and 1/1, so I guess anything is possible. I'm sure somebody that was wait-listed will be thrilled! Good luck .... you still have some time to make it happen.
