12-3-09 December 3, 2009 3 nite WONDER

It is exhausting but I'm having a great time working on the wedding. :cool1: My DD :bride: found her dress, and we've bought all the undergarments, shoes, booked the chapel, got condos in Vegas to stay at and airline reservations made. Just need tiara and jewelry which my sister is getting when she gets here. Going to work on the FE this weekend and discuss the door decorations. Also working on the Engagement Party and wedding after party....oh wait, back to me and WDW. ;) Can anyone answer a burning question I've got? Do the partitions on the Verandahs open so we can make one long verandah between our three rooms or are they secure? :confused3 I've called and asked the Disney Cruise line and I've gotten three different answers....well, two answers and one I don't know.

Sounds like the wedding plans are coming along well. How exciting!!!

We have only had a verandah room once but I don't think the partitions between the rooms can be removed. I didn't try to remove them though. If they do, be ready cuz your verandahs will be PARTY CENTRAL!!!!!! party:

I've seen the verandah question asked before....and the answer was always no..they are not able to be removed to connect :( I was hoping they would be as well since my fam. and my mom and dad have connecting rooms.

Finally finished my FE gifts!!! One more thing to mark off my list :) I can't hardly wait for this trip!!!!!

You're right..that area IS beautiful, but after about the billionth time of seeing it..it gets old lol!! I have taken a cruise on carnival in 2004 and me,dh and 2 dd's took a disney cruise last summer, so this is our 2nd Disney :) My mom and stepdads first disney cruise AND first ever cruise!

I've got my "goody" bags for the kiddo's in the FE exchange done. Can I list whats in them to see what you guys think or would it ruin the surprise for you guys as well? lol.

Lisa

I know what you mean! That is how we feel about Branson and the Missouri Ozarks!

What did you think about your Carnival cruise? DH and I have only cruised DCL. We've thought about trying RC or Princess but we've never had a bad Disney vacation so we just can't bring ourselves to try another cruise line. At least not yet anyway...

Since I don't have little kids, I can't advise you on sharing your FE goody bags contents.

Well, to be honest, my opinion of Carnival is not that great. Again though, that is just my opinion. Once I sailed DCL I told my DH that he would never be happy on another cruiseline since I had had Carnival to compare it to. There was drunks all over the ship, stumbling all over the pool area. It seems to cater more to the party/college crowd, but again we only did a 3 night cruise. The longer ones may not be that way. I do want to try Royal Carribean at some point though. Their ships look nice and I've heard their crowds are nothing like Carnival's. I also hated having to pay for soda,as I'm a major coke-aholic lol.

Welcome Eyedisneycruiser! Glad to have you "onboard" our group! It is not to late to join the FE exchange, Just PM the following info to DonMil,she is in charge of keeping up the list for the FE and for our Meet n Greet:

Your screen name; names of everyone in your party; ages of kids (and adults, if you want); stateroom #; main or late dining time; where you live; your email address; and if you are celebrating anything special. Also indicate if you want to participate in the FE or just attend the meet.

DonMil- I am sorry I am just getting this to you now, but my mom and stepdad are not participating in the FE exchange. I'm not for sure about the meet n greet yet. Just didn't know if you would want to change that on the cruise group list so no one would purchase/make a gift for them!

Thanks and happy Canadian Thanksgiving weekend!

:welcome: to EyeDisneyCruise and family!

It's definitely not too late to join the FE list. Just PM the info as tngal posted and I will send you a copy of the spreadsheet with everyone's info.

Lisa, I will change the info for your parents about the FE. It doesn't matter about the meet. Any and all are welcome even if they haven't sent me any info. Thanks!

This is our first DCL Cruise but I can tell you I agree about Carnival we had a questionable time however we love Princess ( I have also loved RCL and NCL). We are going to Mexico on the Sapphire in April <again> Just for the cruise itself and they do a terrific job. The accommodations are great, the food is spectacular and the service is top notch. Now we are huge Disney fans parks et. al. However the one constant thorn at least in comparison to DCL is price. Our 7 day cruise on the Sapphire is fully 1/3 the price of our 3 day DCL cruise. You can't beat the prices at the WDW resort but the DCL has a ways to go to be competitive on price. I know it's "Disney" but take that element away and there are many wonderful ships out there. Princess does a great job with kids as well.

Yes! Disney does have a long way to go when it comes to price comparison! It takes me a whole year or more to pay one off, that wouldn't be the case with other cruise lines. I have a friend to went on a cruise with Princess, and had nothing but good things to say about them, I was not sure how they was with the kids, though. Disneys kids club is our big "thing" right now. My oldest DD is mildly autistic along with a few other issues, and sometimes doesn't like to be away from us for to long. She loves the Disney clubs though, and actually asks to go to them, which is a BIG thing to us since that is a rare occurence! We have been talking about trying Royal Carribean sometime in the future as well.

donmil, thanks for taking care of the fe issue with my mom and stepdad, I don't know why I didn't realize that before, im a little slow lately lol.

The price of a DCL cruise is definitely much higher. We book a "dummy" date while onboard and then transfer it to another date as soon as they are released. I'm anxiously awaiting the itineraries for the Disney Dream!

I'm interested in what you are doing for the kids FE gifts. That's the one thing that I've not done yet...

I've got 2 shirt designs left to finish (I'm waiting on a disigner and I'm 11 away from my turn but who's counting). We are so excited!

I didn't really know what to do..so I hope you all will think this is good enough :) I just got a pirate themed goodie bag and filled it with 3 pieces of candy with a pirate wrapper(I just had enough for 3 apiece or I would put more) mini tub of play-doh, small deck of disney themed cards (each one is a different game) a disney notepad and a gel pen and I'm going to have glow bracelets to put in the FE with them, but they are so fragile I didn't want to risk putting them in the bag and accidentally making one of them snap and not be any good any more. Ok..so what do you think?

I just emailed a copy of the Meet/FE exchange spreadsheet to everyone that has sent me their info. If you didn't get it, please PM me. Also, if anyone wants to join the FE exchange, we need your info by November 3rd!!!! We have 11 families participating now.

Here is the info we need: Your screen name; names of everyone in your party; ages of kids (and adults, if you want); stateroom #; main or late dining time; where you live; your email address; and if you are celebrating anything special. Also indicate if you want to participate in the FE or just attend the meet.

Thanks!

Thank you for the verandah partition info ladies. :thumbsup2

Just an FYI on the FE.....I don't think Steve, Gary or Matt are going to participate in the FE. Steve is as Disney crazy as us but can't make a decision to save his life. :confused3 I think I'm scaring Matt and Gary with the all the stuff. :scared1: I warned em what they were getting into  Will let you know for sure by 11/3.

Donmil could you please send the list to my personal email so I can start working on FE gifts? :flower3:

I so need this vacation to begin!:banana::banana:

Denise,

I don't have your email. I'm not sure you have enough posts to PM me with it. If not, have Brad email me or PM me with your email and I'll get it sent ASAP.

Thanks!

My FE is done! I decided to go with a Christmas theme!

Well I am not sure if I will make the trip or if we will have to postpone it. I am sitting in an ICU right now with my mom. She was having trouble breathing on Sunday morning so at 230am she was brought in by ambulance. She was put on a ventilator and she is heavily sedated. They found out she has double pneumonia and they are giving her stuff to help her kidneys as they aren't voiding enough urine. Also they are giving him some meds to help prevent blood clots in her lungs. So some pixies would be great right now. Thanks.
