12/29/07 Western - New Year's Eve

In case I don't sign on tomorrow, everyone have an absolutely fabulous Thanksgiving!!

-- why an otherwise sane (relatively, anyway) 50 year old would be up at this ungodly hour dreaming about getting back on board for another great trip?

Is it New Year's Eve YET? :)

Hope everyone is well turkeyed.

Blessings to all. We're very lucky people.

Mike you aren't as insane as my family. They got up at 3:45 a.m. today to drive 1/2 hour (after driving 8 hours rt yesterday for family Thanksgiving - 2- dinners) to buy a big ole tv. Now that is insane. Can't wait for the cruise.

I feel the same way!! I just can't wait for the cruise time to arrive!! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving albeit with just a few family members. We have tons of leftovers for the next few days and I need to make turkey soup!!

I am not even venturing out of the house to a store today!! We are relaxing while I made ressies for hotels for DH's trip to China.

Lunch and dinner will be leftovers and probably later this afternoon, I will start my turkey soup recipe.

Smart move. We went out to the Primm Outlet mall because Williams Sonoma has almost everything at 40% off and my friend's mom gets another 40% off for employee discount day. It was worth going for those prices, but the crowds were mean! It seems to get harder finding anyone that is even polite anymore. I guess I just need a vacation!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Take care-

Stayed inside today. Put up Christmas decorations, played games and hung out with the kids, ordered pizza for dinner tonight. An unusual, laid-back day for us.

Goodnight everyone.

I am glad you got some good deals!! We are not buying many Xmas presents this year because we are going to be at WDW. The rest of my nieces and nephews receive books from me every year so that is easy for me to accomplish.

Most of my shopping these days for Xmas is online anyway because I can't stand the mood of the crowds either. DH and I are just about ready to start boycotting Xmas!!

We are still eating leftovers!! I have to get that turkey carcass on the stove so I can make my annual turkey noodle soup either today or Sunday.

By now most of you must know I won't be with you. Life brings many changes.
I will be on the Pacific Ocean though. Have a great trip and Happy New Year.

Dianna:

Sorry you and DH won't be with us on the cruise. Wishing you a very happy Xmas and New Year.

Just bumping us back to the main page. I made my turkey stock yesterday so today I will make my annual turkey soup using up the last of the leftovers from Thanksgiving. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!!

Hey Everyone,

Sounds like everyone made it through the weekend in tact. It was a sad one for us. Our high school football team lost Friday night, my DBF was the quarterback and he is a senior, so it was his last HS football game.(however, he and his twin brother are being persued by several colleges.) And UK went down to defeat to UT in 4 OT. That was a hard one. But we made it home just fine and I'm off to the store to sew.

Oh yes, yesterday would not have been complete without my friends calling from Topsiders to let me know that they were enjoying the buffet lunch, while they awaited the SR being ready. I told them I wish I could have crawled through the phone to them. But in a couple of weeks I would be there calling them, just a little bit our jealousy running through these tired old bones.

Everyone have a wonderful work week, it isn't that much longer!!

Pam:

Sorry to hear that your DBF's team lost their last game. My nephew Erik played his last game as a senior at Colorado State on Friday. He was very excited that they won but sad at the same time. He does want to turn pro so we will see what happens.

Erik and his brother both played for De La Salle in Concord, California which was ranked #3 high school football team last week in the nation. Both of them were there during the "streak" where De La Salle won 151 games in a row between 1991 and 2004.

How fun that your friends are on the ship for a DCL cruise!! I would have been so jealous since it is a chilly (for me) 54 degrees here!!

I'm sorry the team lost the game - that's always a let down. My daughter's softball team won both games, with shutouts, the first day of the tournament and lost both games (badly) the second day of the tournament. It was like watching two different teams play. I wanted the first team back, but they couldn't make the come back. You'll have college games to look forward to next year with your son!

Thanks everyone,

Yes, and basketball season begins this week. First game Saturday night. so we don't have long to sit on our laurels. I am getting so excited about the cruise. Has anyone decided about Pirate night? My kids are most definitely dressing to the 9's but I can't quite decide whether I am going to go all out!! I know my kids would love it, so I probably will bite the big one. What happens on DCL stays on DCL, right??? Everyone have a good night.

I think my GK's may dress up but I am not sure we will since we are going to be in WDW for Xmas week. Carrying costumes really adds to the baggage!!

Hi everyone! I am back!! WDW was great, the Poly was BEAUTIFUL.. :cloud9: and now it's back to a 35 degree reality!! :rotfl2:

Anyway - at least i have this cruise to focus my energy on now!!! :cool1:

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.. we ate at the Hoop De Doo review, yup, fried chicken and ribs for us, no turkey.. (3rd year in a row!!) :lmao:

Pam - reguarding pirate night - i just have a pirate shirt i am wearing (it's a rhinestone skull/crossbones that i got from disneyshopping.com) and i am planning on wearing the bandana) I just have tshirts for DH and dd to wear, and my dd will be bringing her "pirate princess ears" she got from WDW.

Also, as for pins, YES!! DD and I both collect/trade Pins, so we will definately be bringing them, and i am planning on getting a few DCL pins for sure!! :thumbsup2

Lucky you to have such a fun and easy Thanksgiving with no cooking and cleanup!! Hope to see some pics of your Thanksgiving at the Poly if you have some to post.

DD and I are working on finalizing our plans for WDW this week. Any suggestions of things to do or see at Xmas?
