12/29/07 Western - New Year's Eve

So we are thinking about going to MGM and seeing the Osbourne lights. Not sure if that is workable given that we land at 4:00 PM in Orlando. But, we enjoy Christmas lights and thought it would be a fun way to spend the evening.

We land at 9:30 AM staying at POFQ. We are doing the candlelight at Epcot and than if we are still up and running over to the Magic Kindgdom since they will be open until 3:00 AM :woohoo: :woohoo:

Ohh.. jim, we just got back from WDW, and the lights were beautiful - definately go over and see them if you can. We are staying the night before the cruise at the airport..

Noel, are you saying you will be a new "hot mama" for the cruise with a new 'do?? LOL

Both MGM and WDW have extra hours if you are staying in a WDW resort on December 29th. Regular hours are as follows:

MGM is open 8:00 - 10:00pm, WDW is open 8:00am - 1:00am, Epcot - Future World 8:00am - 9:30pm and World Showcase 10:00am - 9:30pm

Sounds like a plan!! We may see you at the parks, depending on what my family has planned.

Hey All,

Glad to see everyone survived Thanksgiving. I should have everyone's shirts sent out this week. I was trying to wait and send a Christmas card with it, but it seems that I'm having a real problem getting all of my family together, even for a minute. I might have to improvise. Yes, I have the tree up. That is my favorite Christmas chore. It is 15ft. and every ornament on it has either been made by one of the kids or has been bought on our many travels. :santa: I got all excited when I placed the DCL ornaments on the tree. I probably won't get much else done, seeing that I am living at the store these days. But I love my work and this time of the year I feel like one of Santa's elves. Hope everyone has a wonderful wekend, and be watching for your packages.

Pam

We have three trees...

(1) in the living room, tall and beautiful and decorated in gold and burgundy and white -- just the way DW likes it...

(2) in the family room by the fireplace covered with all of the ornaments that are talked about every time we put them on the tree, colored lights and this pathetic crocheted angel that we have had since the first year we were married and discovered we didn't have a tree-top ornament, "well we can use this angel". Which the kids now track to see who puts it on every year (this year Alex, last year Ashley, Evan, Kayla..)

(3) boy's room -- little "Charlie Brown" tree that DS12 always picks out himself and sets up by himself. Star Wars ornaments. LED lights and encircled by a Lionel train.

We set them up last weekend. Enjoy the first Sunday of Advent everyone!

We'll be there for NYE western. Can't wait! Although we've waited a pretty long time already. Booked on our last Magic cruise during August 2006. Family of four ages 46,45,15 &12.

Pam:

We are so excited to hear the shirts are coming. Your tree sounds just like ours does most years. All the ornaments we have collected over the years seem even more memorable when we put them on the tree!!

Your trees sound wonderful!! I have a friend Mary who sets up a tree in EVERY room in her house. Our tree this year is silver, white, gold and red and looks very glamorous!!

Pam:

You DS age 7 and my GS Spencer should get together on the cruise. Is there any particular activities your son is into? Spencer loves sports, video games and swimming. I am thinking of doing a get together in the Walt for all of the DISers but haven't really come up with a good date or time. Any ideas? Maybe one of the days at sea or maybe right after the sailway?????

Noel

My DS Davis loves swimming and video games too. For his age he is a real movie buff, takes that after his DH. He can hear one line quotes or a song and tell you exactly what movie it came from. Speaking of movies, does anyone have any idea of what might be playing in the theater? Yes, we were at the movies last night and the preview for National Treasure Book of Secrets was on, hope it's playing? And I'm sure Enchanted will still be playing, my DS loves this movie, we were just in NYC the first week of Nov. and he enjoys seeing our hotel and many familiar sites.

Was just trying on some formal dresses this evening!! How many days of dieting do I have have left? And of course my wonderful DH says, just get on the treadmill and walk 30 minutes everyday, and watch the results. :yay: I remind him, I'm not one his patients. And if I had an extra 30 minutes, I would do something else beside walk. But I guess he's right. But don't tell him.

We're staying at the Hyatt at the airport too. Since we had trouble on our last cruise flights -the engine failed on takeoff :scared1: - it was really nice to be right at the hotel when we finally got into Orlando.

How scary!! Did you have to deplane and take another flight? We are staying at the Hyatt MCO on the way back.
