Hello friends! Wow, what a week! 2 down (almost), one more to go. Yes, the teachers DO count down the days as much as the kids do! I am up to MY hoohaw in 2nd grader-made calendars we are producing for Christmas (I mean "Holiday") gifts - 12 pages of poems, artwork, and creative writing projects that have almost put me in an early grave. But they are SO cute, and SO fun to look at (I would tell you how one of my angels spelled "vacation" but I would get banned from the boards!

).
I survived last weekend's candy-making fest (WHY oh WHY is it that if you melt chocolate circles and mold them into cute shapes everyone thinks they TASTE fabulous? I should just throw the little candy melts on the table next year and save myself some brain cells!) This weekend my parents come in to watch our little ballerina perform her first death scene. She won the highly coveted role of the"dead mouse" in the local production of the Nutcracker. In the battle scene with the toy soldiers, the music pauses, a shot rings out and my little mouse falls to the ground in a dramatic moment rivaled only by the appearance of the Sugar Plum Fairy in Act 2. Of course, she miraculously revives offstage to return to the choreographed battle. This is so far one of the highlights of her life!
So enough about my crazy life - 12 more days till we are on the WONDER!
No packing for me, yet. We are going to get through our ballet performances this weekend, and then Sunday night we will start that mess. Notice the "we" - I AM feeling optimistic, aren't I?

I do have a list - that's something, right? ANd my luggage is in the playroom, but that's only because we left it out after TG. My parents are coming this weekend, so after they leave I can start laying out our clothes on the guest bed. I know they say pack half of what you think, but I always get stuck with the wrong stuff when I do that! I ALWAYS do laundry at the resorts (DVC has washers in the room), but I'd rather not waste cruise time washing clothes - esp. for 4 DAYS! We'll be at Vero Beach before the cruise, so I will wash before we drive to PC. This is sick - I shouldn't be planning my chores for my vacation!!
Thanks for the info, Brenda - so y'all don't do the "dress-up" thing? I tried looking that stuff up on the regular cruise boards, but people are REALLY opinionated about that! I don't care if other people do/don't dress up, I just want to be comfortable and not look out of place! Dh and Ds just don't have much in the way of "formal" clothes - church is very casual, so they wear jeans all the time. I don't really want to spend MORE $$$ to dress them up and make them feel miserable!
I am blathering now, so I am going to say good night, and maybe I will pop in tomorrow!!
Annette - glad your DH is safe and sound. That is really scary!!
