12/24/08 Christmas Cruise on the Wonder

Happy Hump Day!

That sounds like a good plan Courtney. Lindsey and I will be snorkling when we get back from parasailing.

Has anyone seen these holiday decorations yet? The tree is beautiful, but at $85.00, it's not in our budget. I'll stick to my $5.00 tree and decorate it myself:lmao:

Pretty, pretty, pretty. I think I'll order that! I think that everyone here has heard the story of our complimentary upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite at the Animal Kingdom Lodge last January. We checked in on the 9th and our room had a full size tree that was still up. It was very festive.

Brenda can you post a pic? The link just goes to the Disney cruise home page for me.

PS never mind I found it.:>)

LOL, Ok. Glad you found it:thumbsup2

Adrianna, Thanks for sharing the pic with us. What a lovely surprise to find such a beautiful tree in your room.

I got a tree topper, some red bead garland ,and gold bows for our little tree today.Grand total of $4.00:cool1: Haven't had any luck finding the battery operated mini lights yet. But I'm not giving up. If I have to, I'll order them online. Hate to though, shipping will cost more than the lights:sad2:

I bought some battery operated mini lights at Wal Mart last year to send to my husband in Iraq. They were in the Christmas lights section.

Would they let us decorate our cabins with those lights?? I would like to get some if I can find them here. I will start with WM like you suggested.

God when it rains it pours here. Three out of the five of us have the flu!!!!

Oh Annette, how awful! Hope everyone gets well soon.:grouphug: I started all of us on extra vitamin C a couple weeks ago,and will begin handing out Airborn the week we leave. It may not help, but it can't hurt, and it makes me feel better:rotfl2:

Adrianna, I looked at Walmart this morning. I did find one set, but they require two C batteries. The ones I am looking for use three AA. I'm thinking C batteries will be to heavy for the tree. Esp as for a 2 ft tree I would most likely need two sets. Wlgreens didn't have any. Guess I'll just go order the ones I found online.

Good morning gang!

TGIF...Hope everyone slept well. It's burrrrr cold outside this morning, but at least that horrible north wind has died down.

For those of you who were looking at booking a cruise on RCCL's Oasis Of The Seas, you might be interested in this.

Float out begins today. Won't actually be complete till sometime tomorrow. They will be posting pictures and infiormation here throughout the event.

Dale comes home today:banana: So Courtney, you won't have to come rescue me from the freeway:rotfl2:

He did something to his arm yesterday, and will have to go see the Dr when he gets home. He must be getting old. He actually decided to go without any pressure from me, or the boss:lmao:

Still no lights. Debating on the ones at wally world with the C batteries, or ordering the ones online which will cost more to ship that the lights cost:confused3 :rotfl:

That's it for me. Have a great day, and a wonderful weekend :thumbsup2

So, Brenda, no rescuing huh? Oh well.

It certainly is a wee chilly this morning. Course not as cold as last Sunday morning. Especially after I slept in it the previous night. I actually like Emergen-C more than Airborne. Tastes better I think. I think it actually works too.

I thought I had read somewhere that they won't let you do the battery operated lights due to the fire hazard they possess. They will let you turn them on occasionally though just not all the time. We are going lightless. Figured it would be more of a pain in the butt trying to find a plug. Reminds me...I need to get a power strip.

Nope, no rescuing this time. I promise to let you rescue me at some point though:worship:

I'm thinking we will just go lightless too. I just can't force myself to pay 6.00 shipping for a 3.00 set of mini lights. I figured they would say no to the plug in lights more that the battery powered ones. :confused3 Oh well, doesn't matter. I think I solved my problem.

Have a new one however. Remember when I said DCL site says only 18 and over can do the jet ski tour? Well, I just noticed on Dreams Unlimited excursion discriptions page, it says" 16 and 17 yr olds may drive with written permission from parent."

Do any of you DCL vets know who I contact to find out for sure? Dale would love me forever if I could set this up, cause then he could get out of the fishing excursion.:rotfl2:

27 more days until the best Christmas EVAH! :worship: :cool1: :cheer2: :dance3: :yay: :yay: :santa: :santa:

P.S. My cat has really bad gas today. Smells like a buffalo crawled up there and died. Just so Y'all in the know:sick: :scared: :sad2: :scared1:

I'm a little late reading this but I found out the Scrapbooking place in DTD is CLOSED!!!:scared1: I was gonna make an effort to stop there this time and get stuff. Especially since I have some Disney scrapbooks that I need refill pages for and apparently they aren't standard. Passporter newsletter said that they have a smaller selection at the World of Disney shop. Any clues for where else to get stuff???

Has anyone gotten their cruise docs from DCL yet? Just curious. I thought you received them about 30-35 days out.

Not yet, but I'm watching!:hyper:

Following is from an email from our DU agent.

Hi Brenda,

Disney Cruise Line's official time frame to ship documents is 10-14 days prior to travel, although, they are often sent prior to that time frame.

I checked with DCL and your docs have not been shipped yet, so I would expect them sometime within the next few weeks or so. They will come UPS 2-day direct to your address from Disney Cruise Line.

Just taking a break to check in. My babies turned 16 today. I'm having mixed emotions about it. Ready for them to grow up and move out, yet wish they were little again too.:rotfl2: Got the cake baked, and cooling, presents all wrapped, flowers and balloons in place. We're taking them out to dinner after swim practice, then coming home for the rest of the festivities.

Hope everyone is doing well. Sorry I haven't been around much. Just busy around here. Getting ready to head to Dallas on Wed. We'll be back Friday, then off to Norman to cheer on our high school football team in the state semi finals. Then a week or so to rest up before I have to seriously get busy packing for WDW and the cruise.

Please tell me none of you are all packed and ready to walk out the door?:rotfl2:
