12/24/08 Christmas Cruise on the Wonder

My hubby will be home tomorrow. Yay! I pick him up at the OKC airport around dinnertime. My son has this whole list of things that JUST he and daddy are going to do. Play battleship, go see WALL-E, go to Sonic, swimming. No moms or baby sisters allowed!

Congrats on your tat, Annette!

Adrianna

Oh how exciting have a wonderful visit.:yay: How long is he here for?

Wow ... gone for two weeks and you guys have been typing madmen!! :goodvibes Savannah was wonderful! We took my 12 year old niece with us though and she kept me VERY busy. The kids loved having her there though and it was so nice to have another set of arms to help out in the pool. Sounds like all of your reservations are coming along nicely. I'm excited to say that I'm only 400 dollars away from paying my cruise in full. :cool1: That feels great! Haven't booked our flights yet, but my husband is doing some interviews in Florida right now, so maybe I wont need any! Happy Birthday to everyone who celebrated while I was gone! All right ... I'm going to go get afternoon snacks ready for my kids ... be checking back later!

Caroline

Adrianna, I am so very happy for you and your family! I want to thank both your husband and you for all the sacrfices your family made. As hard as I sometimes think it is with Dale gone so much, it is nothing compared to having your spouse gone for 15 months. It takes extra special people to do that. Enjoy having your husband home. We will see ya when we see ya Have a safe trip to the city and back.:grouphug:

Hi there Caroline
Welcome back. Well, what can we say, we've all been blessed with the gift if gab :rotfl2: Glad to hear ou guys had a wonderful two weeks in Savannah.
Congrats, it's always nice to pay off a cruise early. Gives you a little more time to save up some spending money::yes:: We paid ours off a couple months ago:yay: Wishing your husband good luck with his interviews.:thumbsup2
Ok, time for this nite owl to hit the hay. Have a great weekend everyone!

My dd12 is curious to find out the ages of any kids on our thread. Can you post their ages and if m or f please:banana:

Okay here is mine

Son- 14 almost 15 when we cruise(Mar b-day)
Daughter- 12 almost 13 when we cruise (May b-day)
Son- 6 just turned 6 when we cruise (Dec b-day)

When we cruise:

Son 5.9
Daughter 23 mos.

Both my kids have January birthdays. April is apparently a fertile month for me.

Off to pretty myself and head to the airport!

Adrianna

Lindsey and Michael will both be 16 in Nov. Sorry, not much help to your kiddos.

Adrianna, you could wear a potato sack, and he wouldn't care. Have a safe trip. There may be some storms in the area. Have a happy reunion of your family.

Well, I'm just chill'n home alone. One more week, and hopefuly, Dale and Michael will be home. If not, guess I get to go se Lynard Skynard without them::yes::

I tried to post something last night but the computer was acting up. :badpc:

Annette, where are you putting your tat? I am so excited for you. Wish I could be there to watch the beauty being created.

Brenda, I know you asked this a while back but I have no idea about whether the hotel tax rates went up or not. Despite contrary belief, I don't spend much time in hotels here. :rotfl2: :lmao: Our regular tax rate hasn't increased if that helps any. It's probably one of those, "poor economy not making enough money lets pass it on to the consumer" kind of things.

Caroline, glad to have you back. I'm jealous of your time in Savannah. It's certainly one of the places I would like to go.

Adrianna, I am soooo glad to hear DH is coming back for good. Here's hoping he doesn't get re-deployed. pixiedust: I bet your whole family is excited that he is back. If you don't visit us for a while, that's okay. Enjoy him.

Andy, DH got a cover up. I don't recall how long it took though. It's pretty neat though and they did a great job. Can't see the old one at all. Considering having one of my covered up but it would be huge in an area where I don't want it to be huge. I got it between pregnancies and the first time I didn't get stretch marks. Second time not so lucky. But some of the stretch marks went to places in the tattoo that made it look like shading. Kinda neat I suppose but it looks way different now.

It's way hot here today. Hope you guys are having better weather.

Lynyrd Skynyrd?!? Heck yeah!! :rockband: Call me....I'll come see it with you! You're not too far away.

Adrianna, I agree with Brenda. You could wear a potato sack. I love your exact age times. 5.9. That is too cute.

As for my kiddos, one of mine may work for you Annette. Better make sure your older daughter doesn't get her claws into my son. :rotfl2: They are close enough. Hope you know I'm joking.

Daughter 16 at time of sailing. Early Dec. birthday.
Son 11

OMG I would give my left arm to see LS! have fun!

Tee hee I will tell Maria about your son Courtney!;)

Oh Adrianna I am so thrilled for you!:cloud9:

Apparently the boards are going down soon so talk to you tommorrow. It is supposed to be 30c here tomorrow:eek: 31 on Monday!

Good morning ya'll.

Ah Courtney, I'm sorry, but looks like the guys will be home Friday morning.
It would have been a blast though:thumbsup2

No left arms allowed Annette.:rolleyes1

I got some good news, and some bad news this morning.

The good news........I was right about our American Airlines 6:30 am flight from Dallas being a less crowded flight. Thus making for shorter lines through security at say....4:00 am.

The bad news? American Airlines realized the same thing.....so they discontinued the flight:sad2:

Spoke with a very helpful, and polite CSR,who told me we are now booked on the 7:45 am flight.
Now the kids seem to think they will get an extra hour sleep. :lmao: I think Not. Going to have longer lines so have to arrive extra early to make sure we get through security. I'm thinking 4:30 ought to do it. If we were flying outof OKC , we wouldn't need to arrive quite so early. But We've not flown out of DFW,and I hear it can be a nightmare. :scared1:

Shoot! I was looking forward to it.

As for the AA flight, sorry to hear about that. DFW can be a nightmare but sometimes it can be quite heavenly. If all else fails and you have time to spare because its not as bad as you think it will be, there will be plenty of shopping opportunities. Here's pixie dust that you get to utilize the new terminal. I want to say it's D but can't quite remember. Everyone cancelling flights and charging lots of moolah makes me happy that we are not flying this time. I would love to...much less time for the kids to argue. But DS wants to see the different states as we drive through them and you can't really do that flying overhead. Besides, we plan to stop in Mobile and tour the battleship there. Another patch to add to the collection.....

Thanks Andy! I think I already have it bookmarked but I know I may never get to all of it anyways. I need to quit my job and commit myself (not to the loony bin) to preparing for this. Or I need to understand I will not be fully prepared, do the best that I can, and take notes for later.

BTW, Andy are you guys driving? I assume you would be. Are you doing WDW or something before the sail date or just the cruise? I'm curious only because we are driving and I am contemplating leaving our car at the resort and getting a limo to take us to port or to take our car to port and pay for the parking. :confused3

I'm not sure if we're flying or driving yet. We are trying to coordinate our travel but with us in Knoxville and Andy in Atlanta, it is a little complicated to do airline flights. I think we are all waiting to see what air fare does. We are booked for the night before at a hotel in Cocoa Beach, can't remember which one. It is one our travel agent has stayed in before to take his Disney cruises. They offer free parking while you take a cruise and free shuttle to the port. If you want the name, let me know.

Our kids are
Hayley - turning 7 while we are on the cruise
Andrew - 21 months at cruise time

Can you believe it is now less than six months! :cool1:
