12/24/08 Christmas Cruise on the Wonder

I am not surprised a lot of people work in the oil and gas industry here. There seems to be a lot of disposable income also. (believe me we are not one of them):lmao:

Apparently we have an accent. Even when we stayed at OKW in April a lot of the cm's knew we were from Canada because of our accent:confused: I wish I knew what it was:confused3 You should of made some joke that if she pronounced a word a certain way it would offend a certain cm on the boat because of his culture and to watch out!!! HAAAAHAA that would of been a good one!:rotfl2:

Are you kidding.:>) CG is not a coat and tie joint anymore. There were kids there at 10pm waiting for fireworks. A golf shirt and pants/shorts is fine.!!!

That's a relief. I think we may do our date night there. Course getting DH to wait late enough to catch the fireworls will be a challange. He thinks he has to eat dinner by 5:00 or he'll starve to seath:lmao:

I did make a list of the restraunts we would like try, then revised to mostly CS dinners. I'm thinking Planet Hollywood in DTD. It's hard to find someplace Lindsey can eat. I mean, there are only so many veggieburgers the girl can eat:rotfl2: Most places do offer veggi selections, but as I said she a vegatarian that doesn't like vegatables:confused3 Does anyone know if Planet Hollywood close to Cirque du Soleil? We've never been to DTD and really don't want to get lost.

Just wait till you hear our accent:rotfl2: No matter how hard I try, and believe me, I've tried, I can't get the okie out of me:lmao: Lindsey can reconize a canadain in a heart beat. She claims she wants to live there when she grows up. Something she and a few freinds decided back in 7th grade:confused3 BYW, I thinks it's the way you pronounce your U's,But I ain't judging, I've heard our accent:lmao:

Hey Brenda, what day does our ADRs window open up? You can book for your whole stay beginning 180 days out from your first day, right? Hope that benefit works for SOG, as well. Assume so, as all the perks of staying on-site are usually the same for us SOGers with the exception of Magical Express.

Yeah, the turd tossers thing is new to me as well. And don't think everyone in Texas has such a twang. I certainly can when I want to but most of the time we don't. Texas has regional accents depending on where you are. For example, I can ALWAYS tell someone is from East Texas or the Panhandle. Most people who live in the cities really don't have an accent. There are those of us who do. And we, at least us, don't sound like anyone on a Jimmy Dean commercial. That is too funny! :lmao: We all don't sound like Matthew McConaughey....although I wished he were here beside me talking to me, dimples and all.....:cloud9:

As for Planet Hollywood it is actually pretty close to Cirque du Soleil. We are now thinking about going to Cirque. No one was interested before but saw a commercial for another version that they are doing and were all interested. Maybe not though.

I don't think we will be doing much dining on the WDW side of things. We will have one nice dinner which might be at Fulton's. Haven't decided yet. Might be the time we tell the kids about the cruise....maybe not. Might just arrive at port. We are really planning on eating mainly at Universal. The kids are fans of Emeril. It's a bit pricey but we may eat there. We all met him when DS was 1 so of course he doesn't remember, but has pictures to prove it. I don't think they would forgive us if we didn't eat at his restaurant.

Prime Time was SOOOOO much fun. Can't remember our waiter at the moment but he was "Uncle" something. Got onto me because I didn't finish my HUGE portion of chicken pot pie or eat my veggies. The kids LOVED it!! I want to hit the Brown Derby as well. Won't be this trip. Maybe next June. I am thinking we will hit Star Wars Weekend 2009.

Can it be true that none of us have had anything to say in 36 hours?

Well, me neither. Hope you all had a happy Mother's Day, too.

It has been so busy here. Our summer holidays were completely booked and we found out we were double booked and we were the ones that got bumped so that took some time to straighten out. Then we got a new minivan (yeah I know real rebels huh:lmao:) So that was quite a bit of running around and then I have been working out in the yard FINALLY!

Me? Busy at work or playing chaffeur. Raining here now. Hate the rain. I'm needing to do yard work myself.

I got to thinking about the whole accent thing. I went on a trip for 2 weeks to California several years ago and the people there said I had an accent....however so subtle. Lots of times we probably don't even realize we have one unless it is SOOOO evident. I am sure that I would be able to recognize the Canadian in you.....I think it's the vowels. It may only come out when you say certain things. Several people I know from up north whether it is South Dakota or Boston have their accents shine through every once in a while.

BTW, I like minivans. There are some really good ones out there. And AWESOME to take trips in especially when you have two kids who would rather bicker most of the time....

Hope everyone else's weather is great

So far I've been able to "just say NO!" to a minivan. If the price of gas doesn't drop soon I may have to think otherwise. $85 to fill the gas tank in my beast and that doesn't even get me through a whole pay period of mom errands.

I am from Washington State originally and I really think we have the nost neutral accents in the nation, but I think I use phrases and idioms that are uniquely Northern.

In cruise news...

I was bored yesterday and was just curious to see if the recent tax rebate checks had sold out our cruise. Cats 4 and 6 are down to GTY only (cat 4 was not even available a few days ago). Cat 8 and 12 are sold out. Cats 9 & 10 are down to their last few rooms and selling rooms on deck 1. There seem to be decent amount of Cat 5 and 11 left. I only looked at rooms that hold families of 4, though. I know... I have too much time on my hands. :sad2: This gives me a brain break... I spend my days talking to two kiddos and a cat.

Sounds like a full boat for sure. We had a 2005 Grand Caravan SXT and got a 2008 Kia Sedona...the dodge was a piece of crap....much happier with the Kia....no patriotism issues here....whatever was the best vehicle for us!!!!

It is supposed to be 80f this weekend woooooohooo!

Oh lovely sun!! You came back to me!!! :lovestruc Of course there were a few sprinkles early afternoon, but the sun is back OUT!! Good weather here this weekend as well. Good thing....we are camping!!

Know what you mean about the gas. We had an Avalanche and a Jeep. The Avalanche was more useful so we kept it and I got a Camry. Gotta love that car! Wanted a hybrid but it was too expensive for me at the time. Ended up trading the Avalanche for a Toyota Tundra. I warned DH that if he doesn't let up on the accelerator and not act like he is 18 I will make him downgrade to a sedan. I even suggested him taking my car to work on the weekends to save gas. It was like I stole his ice cream away!!! :rotfl:

Adrianna....you do have too much time on your hands. But I wish I had more like you.

Hope the CT scan goes alright.
