12/24/08 Christmas Cruise on the Wonder

There are three rotations within second seating, beginning at 8:00, 8:15 and 8:30.

4 day cruise
TAAP 5:30 and 8:00
APPT 5:45 and 8:15
PTTA 6:00 and 8:30

They try to group families by the ages of their kids for the most part, so it likely that I will have the 8:00 with TAAP with my little kids and that you will have the 8:15 with APPT because you have older kids.

They don't tell you until you show up at the port and pick up your room keys.

There is only one kitchen preparing food for all three restaurants, so the times are staggered so that the kitchen isn't slammed with orders from all three dining rooms at once.

Palo has it's own kitchen.

Pooh. And I don't mean pooh: Guess the likelihood of us eating with you is slim. Don't know about the other guys but it is possible. Makes planning a little more interesting. That is a good idea though to have a 2nd dinner with the kids. Kind of like Lord of the Rings with Pip and Merri (sp). Takes a lot of time away from activities though.

Any idea about the itinerary?

Did not know that. Nice bit of info. Kinda makes me want to take one of those backstage tours (unfortunately not available on a 4 night) to see the galley, etc.

BTW, cute pic of you and DS on the beach. How old are your kids?? I was thinking they were younger due to the hook/tink picture...

They both have January birthdays, so they will be a both month shy of 6 and 2 when we cruise this December.

The current itinerary has us in the Bahamas on the 25th, day at sea on the 26th, and Castaway Cay on the 27th. Most of the time on a four day, the last day is the sea day and Castaway Cay is the middle day, but since this is a special sailing, the middle day is a Friday. The 7 day cruises (Disney Magic)always dock at Castaway Cay on Fridays, so I imagine that is the reason for the reversal. As Brenda has said, the Captain can change this if necessary. I was reading on another thread about this happening due to engine trouble on another cruise. If they switch our sea day, they will move the brunch with it.

I think we will skip Palo tihs trip. Instead we will have a nice romantic dinner for two in our room. We have the dining table so why not make use of it right?:lovestruc I'm sure the twins will be hanging out Aloft till they close the place down..at least one night.
I don't know if the captain will change the itinerary or not. Just saying it could happen. On our last Christmas cruise on Wonder, the Capt had our sea day first,on Christmas Day. This was because most of the shops on Nassau were closed due to Junkanoo. I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, I would rather not have to make my way through the crowded streets of celebrating locals. Yet on the other hand I like having my sea day last. It allows me time to relax instead of having to pack when we get back onboard after a day at CC. I agree we should have a plan for each possible itinerary. It would prevent being blindsided and being dissipointed should something change.

We are officially paid in full:woohoo: Can't wait for June 23rd so we can make our ADRs then sept. 10th to make our DCL ressies.:yay: Oh I'm so excited. I can't wait for it to show paid in full on the site. Can I research shore excursions once it shows up on DCL site,or do I still have to wait till closer to departure?

You go girl! DCL is not getting one more red cent from this kid until two days before my booking window opens. Not letting them earn any interest off my cash-ola until I have to.

Gee. I never thought of it that way.:confused3 I was surprised how quickly the pay off appeared on the DU site. I was instantly given access to check out shore excursions.

Parasailing $75 for a 7 to 9 minutes up. Worth it? Our best friends, Lindsey and I parasailed on South Padre Island a couple summers ago,but it was only $35.00. I know,I know. It's Disney. Lindsey wants to go, so I'm sure we will book it.

A plan for each possible itinerary??? I was having issues making one plan!

I found the lady from another thread on the DIS. She sells them on ebay and I have her ebay username (gradysmommy). I just pm her through ebay. The weather is unreal here. It is 80f today and 87f tomorrow! Rain and 55 next week though!

Have you heard anything from gradysmommy? I PM'd her through Ebay a couple of days ago and haven't heard anything. Just anxious to get started.

Yup it didn't make much sense did it. I got my hair done Sunday, and went more blonde. Guess it affected my thinking:lmao:

Well, it did kind of make sense. Especially from a veteran cruiser to a newbie! I am relying on you. No pressure. Thinking of doing more blonde on me too. The summer sun lightens it anyways so thought I would take the reins for once. Maybe I shouldn't now that you have said that.....

Hello  been a busy few days here. Did spring cleanup in the yard and planted all the annuals in the beds. Then it was dd 12th birthday and we had a real nice party day. For my Mom's 72nd birthday in Feb I gave her tickets to the Diana Ross concert. So tonight Mom and I are headed out for a ladies evening! I have not heard back from gradysmommy yet:confused3 maybe she is busy.

Gee, thanks:rolleyes: If you only knew how dark brown my natural hair really is (minus all the gray) you would know how true my statement about acting blonde really is:rotfl: I usually lighten the brown, and put in some subtle ash blonde highlights. Dale has been missing my"stripes" so I had her put in plenty of blonde strips to make him happy.

Alot of people are very picky about when they want to eat at Palo. An itinerary change would put some of them in a tailspin.:rotfl2:

Happy Birthday to your DD. I would love to see Diana Ross. Bon Jovi is coming to OKC this summer. I wanted to go, but DH doesn't want to go with me. Guess I'll have to settle for Lynyrd Skynyrd at the 4th of July concert at Ft Sill. :rotfl2:

Did they add dates? I thought that they only went to December 19 this year? If they are available, I am going!

You know, I remember seeing the same thing. Just can't remember where. I went to the Dis board site, typed in our arrival and departure date, and the above dates came up. It did say they were based on last years dates though. :confused3 Maybe I should look into this closer before I get my hopes up.
