12/19 Wonder Anyone coming???

Hi,

I looked on the DisneyCruiseLine website and I think our request for early seating came thru. (I asked Debbie when making my REAs.) I'm really glad. We eat early because Nat has swim practice every day after school and hubbie goes to work at 7 AM, so 6 or 6:30 dinner is the latest we would ever eat. (If we got late seating, we'd be snacking for hours before!!!)

The crusie is getting closer!!! YEAH!!!!

Hope to hear and meet all of you soon!

NISIEMOUSE...thanks for posting and I changed your infomation!

I sure do wish the time would go faster! We have our MVMCP tickets for Tuesday the 14th. I haven't make PS yet. Not sure that we want to do LTT. We did it for MNSSHP, but would like to do something different. We plan to resort hop that day, so maybe we'll eat a big lunch somewhere and munch in the park that night!

dotterson: Glad you got early seating. We are used to eating early also.

'Chele: Part of me thinks it might be better just to eat in the park and have a big lunch on the day of MVMCP also. It does put you in a different part of the park to start the party and I am hoping we can get pictures done first. You are so lucky to be going for 2 weeks.:D

That was our thinking. We will probably go over to MK between 2pm and 3pm and get our wristband. By then most of the people without MVMCP tickets will either be gone or on their way out. The back of the park should be empty. Then we are going to eat at LTT at 5:10pm so we will be right by the picture place.

Anyone getting as excited about this cruise as I am? We are almost in the double digits!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Did you guys see this? Someone is posting that DCL has changed their policy and you can not book excursions 90 days out. That is VERY soon for this cruise!

Here is the thread that mentioned it:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=644785

I hadn't really thought about what we want to do. I think we may just stay on board, but I guess I will give the excursions a look.

You may have to be paid in full to do this (I'm not sure about that).

Here is a link to excursion information for Nassau:

If this link doesn't work, just go to the Disney website and click on the cruise and then ports of call.

Were you folks planning on Nassau excursions? I think we'll just hit the straw market, maybe see the Pirate Museum and run back to the ship!!!!

Hey -- shouldn't you be packing????? ;)

Hope you have smooth sailing!

I just don't know what to do in December. We usually don't get off the ship, but I am thinking it may be cooler weather than when we are usually there and maybe we should go see some things. If we do, we might go on the tour that takes you to the zoo/gardens.

I will think about this trip when I get back from my upcoming trip.

I am half packed (4 suitcases, 2 packed). I am waiting until Thursday to do up all our laundry and we will throw in our casual stuff. I am TRYING to not overpack like I did on our last 7 night cruise.

I will let you guys know how our cruise meet goes on this cruise and maybe we will want to do the same thing for ours (or we can try something different).

As for smooth sailing......well.....I am just hoping so! With all these hurricanes and tropical storms, at this point, we are just hoping to get on the ship and then the captain can take us anywhere he wants as long as it is away from the bad weather!

I sure hope the weather is better in December for this cruise!

I just called yesterday to pay the balance for our cruise and they said they would send info on excursions but you cannot book until 60 days out.

I am also curious what people are planning on doing in Nassau. I am more prone to just want to stay on the ship but have a feeling dh may think otherwise.

Have a great trip DJ!:D

HI all! I am not sure what we are going to do for excursions. As of now, I don't have any planned, nor think we will. We might walk through the straw market and go to the pirates museum. The thought of being pressured to buy stuff on my vacation doesn't interest me, but the boys are REALLY into pirates, so that might be an option. Staying on board and enjoying the ship sounds realllly good too! If we do anything it will probably be a last minute decision.

DCL just changed their excursion reservation policy VERY recently. Now you can reserve excursions 90 DAYS in advance. For us that's today (Monday, 9/20).

Just thought you all would like to know.

My family is just back from the 7 night Eastern 9/18 cruise. It was not quite what I had hoped for (Hurricane Jeanne caused rough waters and I was sea sick and missed 2 of those wonderful dinners). They had to get us off the ship on Friday night because they were closing the port. We learned this about 4:00 that day and had to hurry and pack and get our luggage in the hall by 6:00. They took us to the Dolphin that night (very nice) and we got to bed around 1:00 in the morning.

Disney handled things great! But it was a bit crazy and we missed CC, and well......I am REALLY looking forward to this December cruise now!!!!

So now we are under 80 days! Doesn't that sound good!

Let's get excited!!!!! This is going to be a GREAT cruise! :sunny:

DJ,
WELCOME HOME!!! I am glad to hear you are all safe and sound! Sorry your trip wasn't all that you hoped it would be! Let's hope December is less eventful!
Did you have a DIS meet? How did it go? Any suggestions for planning ours?

All in all, it was still a good trip.....but I hated missing CC. It helped knowing that we would get another chance in December AFTER hurricane season!!!

Yes, we had a Dis Meet. It was in the Promenade Lounge at 3:00 on the first day of the cruise. This worked well because there isn't much going on then (and the safety drill is at 4:00, so we all went to get ready for that after meeting).

It worked well for most of us, but a few Dis people had delayed flights and couldn't make it. After that we didn't meet as a group any more but would see each other from time to time onboard and talk. It was nice to bump into friendly faces during the trip. Some of people in the group did get together again, but my family was with a party of 14 already and we were pretty busy getting together with them (they had to sit us at two tables beside each other because there wasn't a table big enough for our party).

Personally, I liked the meeting place and time. There were plenty of seats in the Promenade Lounge and it was fairly quiet so we could talk and get to know each other a bit. The time was good because by then we had already taken care of all the things we needed to take care of and would just be waiting for the safety drill.

So if this group thinks it is a good idea too, I would suggest we do the same thing.

On Sunday, December 19th, meet in the Promenade Lounge at 3:00. Kids came too and they seem to form their own little area to the side to talk with each other.

I can't wait for this cruise! I really want to see CC again! That was always one of the best parts of the cruise!

Can you believe it? We made reservations in Feb., and it seemed so far away!

For those if it's still a secret to your kids, how have you kept it up??? Wow!

Hope we have a great time!

d

We are under 70! Whoo hoo!! We have still kept the cruise a secret! We have told them that we are going to go to WDW and then we are going to "drive over to the beach for a day." heee hee! I can't wait to see thier faces! they are going to flip!
