Photos are absolutely beautiful. You can see the love in the photos. What a great day that must have been. Hey by the way. How did you get your photobanner to work? Mark and I made one but it says we need to enable the HTML and on my posts is says the HTML is off do you know how to make this work?

As for the wristbands Mark and I are up for wearing one. If you want to send them to us. That is cool or we can pick them up at the meet either way. Just let us know what you prefer. Tell us how to get you the money for them.:dance3::cheer2:
 
So, what does anyone think about using the green wrist bands to identify DIS'ers on our cuise? I checked into pricing and it isn't too bad. Probably between .80 to 1.24 per person. I could order the bracelets and everyone could buy them from me and I could mail them out before our cuise. That way while you are traveling or at the port, etc, you could be identified by a fellow DIS'er. OR, I could just bring them to our meeting place and you could get them there. Comments? Intersted or not really?

I'm game. Did you try wristbandconnection.com? They are pretty reasonable and if it's a small order they do those first.

aw, thanks! One way you can tell that my smiles are authentic is whether it's straight- my natural smile is crooked (you may be able to tell in the middle pic).

ETA: My wedding is going to be featured on our photographer's blog. Provided our full names aren't given, I'll post a link on this thread so you can see it.

I will play Devil's advocate for a moment. DCL, at least a lot of the reservation people, do not like the Disboards. I am not quite sure why. It has come up a few times in conversation. I would be curious to know why if someone knows.
It seems that wrist bands would be difficult to notice unless you hold them up high. Name tags are chest high and likely cheap. We actually had pre manufactured shirts for the DVC and DCL cruise in the past. ( included disboards) It made it easy to see, but expensive. Glad you are back, Robyn. Someone on the 12/12 sailing just posted that DCL called them about a week and a half ago about a paid upgrade from a cat 9 to a cat 6 for $300. They said they were first time DCL cruisers...

So maybe the calls will start coming for our group this week. Especially those who are first-timers (b/c that just tends to be what I'm seeing) stand by those phones!!! :thumbsup2

As for the rest of us, let's keep our fingers crossed :rotfl:
 
I think we need more than one meet. It sounds like it will take a t least two to accomodate everyone. Those that can attend both will and those that cant wont...pretty simple. Plus if we all get green wristbands from Bill we can mingle amongst the ship during the cruise also. I still need help with our banner. It doesn't look like any one can help me. I noticed that Robynchic you may have used Tickerfactory? Oh well if I can't get our photos loaded you will just have to wait to see this goofy couple who is sailing with you. As for the flashmob idea, don't give up hope yet, We could approach some of the crew members in entertainment to help us they may think it is a great idea. :dance3::cheer2:

Don't use the html option that uses < and >. There's another option (I think it's the first one) that uses brackets, instead. That's the one you want to use.
 
Hey Guys.. Guess what!!! We just heard from our TA (though Disney) they offered us an upgrade from Cat 12 (which we are 4, so really Cat 11) to Cat 9 Ocean View for $150. They did not give us any cabin numbers yet.

i got the call cat 12 to cat 9 for only 150 dollars i took it. i might of got upgraded for nothing but you never know knowing my luck since its only my wife and i we would of been stuck in the cat 12. i thought 150 dollars was a good deal.

My family also booked 2 cat 12's. It wasn't much more than putting us all in one cat 12, and I wasn't sure how the bathroom situation would work out for all of us, especially since there will be two adult women in our group (me and step-DD who is 19).

Hey, I see your location is Charlotte! If that is NC, then we are neighbors! We live in Union County, so technically we are south of the city, but still close enough...

BTW, the Christmas tree thing I was talking about was whether to put one up at home or not and if I did put one up whether to get an artificial one or a real one...there was some talk here though about trees in the stateroom. I'd love to have one, but I don't think I have the packing space. I thought DCL offered trees for the rooms, kind of like a floral arrangement, something you could order. Anyone know?

In terms of the FE, I have tried before to explain it but I don't do a very good job of it! So I will just say that the FE itself is like a little hanging organizer that hangs from the fish hook outside your stateroom door. The FE exchange is when a group of people on a particular group get together and decide to exchange little surprises throughout the week to each other by putting them in the FE's. You can buy or make a group gift for the other families, or put together an assortment of things for the individual members. And it doesn't have to be anything big or elaborate. It's just a way to have fun with your fellow DISers...it's kind of like a secret Santa on this trip! Okay, so that was my best attempt at explaining it. Anyone else, please feel free to come along and add to what I've said!

Are you guys driving down? We plan on driving down Friday afternoon and spending the night in a hotel. Do you know of any hotels that are close to the port? I looked on the website, but I think those are all in Orlando.

Also, and this is a question for anyone. We are booked through Dreams Unlimited. Will we be considered for possible upgrades? Or is this only for people who booked directly with DCL?

Just hang out with us here and you'll have ten posts in no time! LOL!

There are lots of hotels at Port Canaveral. Three popular ones are the Residence Inn by Marriott, Country Inn and Suites, and The Radisson. Some other folks may come along to give you other suggestions, but those are the ones that stand out in my mind. Some even have park & cruise rates, so if you don't mind leaving your car at the hotel and riding the hotel shuttle over to the port, you can get a good deal that way. Last I checked the Radisson rate for that was $117 for the night and the Country Inn and Suites was $119. Since parking at the port is $105 for the week, you can see where this is a good deal that many take advantage of.

By the way, we are debating over whether to leave on Thursday afternoon or Friday morning. DD will miss a day of school, but she's only in 2nd grade and her class party is on Thursday that week, so she won't miss anything important.

Oh, and I do believe you will be considered for an upgrade even if you book through a TA. If I'm not mistaken, it was either Peaceableone or Pluto who said they got a call from their TA about the upgrade offer. The angonizing part of all of this is that it's impossible to predict who will get those calls! Sometimes it's first time cruisers, other times it's folks who have cruised lots of times with DCL. So just keep your fingers crossed...I know I am!!!
