sorry to hear about your dog Stacy. I don't know what i would do if my dog Spur ran away. :shutters:. :sad2: But then again, my dog is way to lazy to get off his butt and run away. lol. He would even go out and make.

So Lynda, did you train Cash by yourself?

Another T.O.P. for me. how cool is that?

Hi everyone,

Oh Stacey I'm so sorry to hear about your pooch. Maybe its the Lady and the Tramp scenario and your dog just found a good looking friend and are hanging out behind the Italian restaurant eating spaghetti and a meataballa.

Heard from MaryAnn. All is well. She just got busy and is off to ski with her daughter next week. She promises to post when she returns. FYI Jim is still off the smokes. :cool1:

The girls and I are just hanging out as daddy went to San Francisco for work this weekend. Rainy day schedule here too. Poor cat is being terrorized by the 5 year old. I see a scratch in dd5's future.

Ta for now all. Talk to you soon, D

Denise, glad you heard from MaryAnn and all is well. Yea, Jim!

Our Molly has been gone since the first part of January, since we got back from the cruise. So I'm guessing that she is probably gone for good. Lynda knew that this wasnt a recent thing from the Christmas cruise thread. Molly wasn't too lazy to go out on her own, just too chicken. We had a "Beware of Dog" sign from Jay's dog when we first moved here (17 yrs ago) but after she died, we had to laugh, 'cause the worst thing Molly would have done is licked someone to death!
I love the "Lady & the Tramp" scenerio.....that's a happy thought.

You don't have much choice. You can:
1. Apply for a program-trained dog (up to 2-year wait) and get rid of your other dogs...(NO WAY!)

2. Pay up to $20,000 for a custom-trained dog that is chosen for you. (Again, 2 to 10-year wait).

3. Train your own. The most fun was teaching him to read his commands from flashcards. Flash cards today, War and Peace tomorrow...

HAHA! thats good. I never much liked that book, but I am sure a dog would love it. lol. :rotfl: I want to train dogs for service, but I'd better survive training my horse first. As gaRry can testify, training a horse is no easy task.

1. Socialization
2. Obediance
3.Task training
4. Bonding

The sequence is much easier when the learner can be hooked to a scooter for the obedience part.......Or a pickup truck, I guess, in the case of large mammals. I swear, Cash was the most rambunctious, stubborn, and intelligent dog I ever had. If he were a horse I'd have thrown in the towel...

Jay trained the dog that he had when I met him....and the reason I feel in love. She was a wonderful dog.....Australian Shepherd named Rag. She was trained to guard his welding truck when he wasn't in it. And he started by attaching her chain to it, and every time she would try to jump off the truck, he made the chain shorter. When it got to where she would jump off, and her toes would barely touch the ground, she knew better than to jump off again. They don't look at all alike, but Cash reminds me of her. Very loyal. Devoted to their "person". Jay was impressed at how Cash was on "watch" for Lynda at WDW.

Well, I guess he likes being a Service Dog better than a prisoner in death row at the animal shelter....Lucky for me...Great dog!

Well, they got the one-armed man...again

It is FOGGY here. My car is about 50' from the house and I couldn't see it when I got up.

snowy here. snowed about 3-4 inches over the night. too bad we already had off school today. lol.

we only got about 2-3 inches but then it rained and rained all night long

so we had some ice, but it's melting!!!

Hi GreGg. How are you? So you had some snow too. thats cool. It rained a little here before it snowed according to the people coming in at work. I wasn't outside at all except early in the morning to take care of my horse.

Good Morning!

We got lucky...no more rain the rest of the afternoon yesterday and none last night.
Jay got across to go to work this a.m. I'm not even going to try until I have to take Jared to baseball tonight. And I may just have Jay take him.
Looks like the sky could open up again any minute.
The nice thing is that the creek will probably flow all summer. It's pretty when it does that. Can't keep my car clean that way, but it's still pretty. And we need the water. We're on a well.
The work I brought home is calling my name.....have a great Monday!!
Stacey

I don't want the thread to get too far down.
