12/16/06 10-day holiday cruise

Almost time to watch at least one of my shows before I go get Jordan. Jay took Jared to baseball practice. One of his teammates has an indoor gym and batting cage at their house. The place is astounding. But there are a lot of washes between their house and civilization, so Jay took my Yukon XL. He was worried about me going across in my Equinox, but it hasn't rained that much more yet....I should be okay.
If I end up on the news, I'll have at ya!

She shared our table on the 10-day and has been off the boards for a while and we're (Denise and I) worried about her...Her life was just taking a downward turn...family health...and we're lookin' for her or her e-mail address...any suggestions?

Stacey got it, Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort. I am not DVC but love the place. We try and go at least once a year, off season. In May the weather should be delightful, 80's. The ocean may be too cold for me but the beach is great. And the resort has two pools that are heated.

Which, seeing as how this is the desert, it doesn't usually rain...this much, anyway.

Waiting for Jay to hurry up and get home before the creek goes up much higher. We shouldn't be stuck for too long this time, it hasn't rained as much as predicted.
Love that family togetherness time! At least I have plenty to do to keep busy.

How is that "Swarthy Dog", anyway?? Just looking at his picture makes me sad for Molly. Add a few (okay a lot) white spots, and they'd look alike.
I still just wish I knew what happened to her. Maybe it's better that I don't know. I keep reading the Lost & Founds.....and then find my eyes wandering to the Puppies For Sale. NO. NO. NO. No more.


Guess I will go to bed. Think I will tackle the business taxes tomorrow and need to be bright eyed and bushy tailed!

Good Morning!

We are definitely stuck here today....and from the look of the forecast, it could be a while. Wish I had brought home more work from the office!
Jay is already wandering around, trying to find something to keep himself busy with!
This could get interesting.
I'm glad I called him before he came home yesterday to remind him that we needed more PEPSI. It could have gotten really ugly. And, I got my first shipment of Banfi....so I'm set!

Swarthy Dog is great...He's keeping the other dogs in line but, if I didn't keep an eye on him, he would eat Carrie's food and gain back all that weight the vet told me to have him lose. Penny, though, has learned to eat lying down with her face in her dish. If Cash gets near she lets out a HORRENDOUS grrr to chase him away... She's such a funny dog. I saved her from the local shelter...She had been found, a stray, pregnant, and no one claimed her. When she had her puppies he shelter gave them to me to find homes for, which I did. Then, a month later the shelter said they were going to have to put her down. She had been there too long and was, after giving birth, out of shape and losing her hair and no one wanted her, although she was s nice doggy, and only 2 years old or so...I took her and kept her... Eventually she got back into shape and a change in food fixed the hair loss problem...I like to think of the family that lost her and wish I could tell them she's ok and has had a good life...She's about 9 now...

I hope your Molly finds her way back...She's out there somewhere...
I found Cash by looking at the local shelter website. He was a stray, too. Nobody claimed him and, after I got him home I saw why...Does your local shelter have a website? Maybe you could post a picture of her there...?

We have pictures up of Molly all over. And I have been checking the AZ Humane Society website...but they are sooooo stupid. They only post a "pet of the week". Why don't they have more pictures up??
Checking any other site I can think of too. If she is still out there, I hope someone is taking good care of her, she's a good girl.

So sorry, Stacey...It's so hard..I know this is stupid...did she have collar/chip/tags?....It changes the picture if she did... I hate the thought of people stealing dogs grrr...Penny dug out and ran off many times but I always got her back...She's a hungry dog. One time she was gone a week...nearly gave me a heart attack...Someone finally bothered to call...She had jumped into their El Dorado filthy and wet and they called the number on her vet tag just to get rid of her
She was about 5 miles away and had been living in the ditches...Boy, was she a mess! Made me thankful she had short hair...

She wasn't micro-chipped.....her collar and tags are here in the house. They took her collar off when we boarded her during the cruise, and I had been telling the kids to get her collar back on her, and they didn't. Not their fault, I didn't go out and do it either.
But she NEVER ever left the property. And she disappeared in broad daylight. She slept in with us at night. I still suspect the construction guys up the hill had something to do with her disappearance. If they took her, I keep hoping that they will get tired of buying dog food and drop her off someday.........
I know, it's hard to feel sorry for myself if I didn't put her collar back on her. But she really never would have left on her own. Never. And out here, it's different than in town.
