Good morning everyone!!!

Whew this week has breezed by. Wild Animal Park (highly recommend going if ever in San Diego) Monday and Tuesday then Sierra and I went to the beach together yesterday. Darn coastal marine layer kept us away for a couple of days. I think she brought home about 3 cups of sand in her bikini bottoms. Then she was off to her friends for a sleepover and they are going to the beach today so I have a day with Kira alone. Tomorrow we are all doing the beach thing together. Man the water is COLD. I had to keep reminding Sierra that it wasn't vacation anymore.
Yes Sue thanks she did enjoy her time with mom alone. I have to make up to Kira today though.

Question for you all. My niece is turning 16 and my sister needs help for ideas. They live in Alaska and she is not the normal makeup and fashion girl. I thought instantly about a spa day but my sis says no, so anything you guys could suggest would be greatly appreciated. And yes a Disney Cruise is oout of the question.

Denise, I know what Jordan wants for her birthday...more than anything....(yes, she's one of the few who doesn't have one, and probably isn't going to get one) a CELL PHONE.

One of the most fun things we did for Megan's birthday at about that age was a movie theme party. They all came dressed for The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and watched the movie, sang & danced to it. But she & her friends were "theater people". My parents were here at the time....my Mom escaped to the guest house, but my Dad was right there in the thick of it! And Ohiominnie thought HER dad was a pill!!
I know surprises are always fun to try to plan, but at that age, I think it would be best to ask what she wants to do. Seems at that age, no matter what we Moms do, it's always wrong. For example, I could give Jordan the moon this year, but since it isn't going to be a cell phone, it will be wrong. I can live with that.

And......mR. gaRry......I don't need no stinkin' supervision! I am an angel who would never even think of doing anything wrong! Isn't that right, honey?!

Thanks for the ideas. She wants to be a CSI when she grows up and I was thinking of a who dun it party. A murder mystery game where the guests are the suspects. I don't know if my sister could handle that though. She loves to play games and is really bright. This is a tough one. I was also thin king of an 80's party. Big hair, funky clothes, synthesized music.

OOPs the two year old stripper just came in gotta go get the duct tape.

I always think it's so funny when you mention your little stripper......Jordan used to do that too. We had to duct tape her diapers and pin her pj's shut. Trust me, modesty does come eventually!

Vegas has a lot of CSI stuff because of the tv show. Let me know if you want me to get a t-shirt or hat or glass or something to send to your niece. I'm going up on May 15th.
Megan always wanted to do a Murder Mystery party and we just never got around to it. That sounds like fun. We have gone to the Mystery Dinner theater a few times, those are a lot of fun, too!

We were in Bonaire November 1 - 12, 2003....spent Halloween in Jamaica. Let me know if you have questions. There's only one night I don't remember. Took a Pirate ship out to see the Green Flash. But I do remember the flash....just not much of the rest of the night. Darn rum punches!

Hey Stacey that would be awesome. Thanks for the offer. She wears a medium now in shirts. My little neice is growing up
My sister and I had a powwow about it today and we agreed that a party at the local pizza joint so the girls could have boys there too is a good idea and then the girls could go back to her house for a slumber party.( and to talk about boys) I kindof liked the idea of an 80's party. Dress like Madonna...Flashdance, Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club...oh the fun to be had. I'll save it for a dinner party. Serve wine coolers and Brie.
Its a gorgeous day and I'm in the laundry room. Put it off too many days and Paul is off to San Francisco this weekend. I guess he'll need clean work clothes.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who had to duct tape a diaper! We used to have to wrap the tape all the way around the diaper, if we just taped over the tabs, she could pick those off!

That was a shameless TOP Stacey. You thread chatter you. I always laugh when I look and see how many of these threads you are on woman.

DH's best friend is going to Vegas with his girlfriend and wants us to go. How fun but what to do with the girls? Theres $400 just in babysitting fees for a weekend. I really wish my parents were younger. 83 and 2 and 5 don't go together very well for extended periods of time. I'll have to sweet talk my sitter.

Hey jEn, there was a couple we met on the Xmas cruise that were really fun. I will talk to them and then could we include them in the dinner reservations? Such a nice couplke from England. Cruise all the time. They will be on the cruise from Cal back to Florida. Let me know if thats cool. They sat at our table with MaryAnn and Jim too.

Well no beach today...cloudy. Lets go shopping. Darn it my wallet zipper broke.
