Dee, that's just horrible! I'm so sorry. I'm glad to hear you're going to get more fish.

We always worry when we go away during hurricane season. I have a chinchilla who can't be hot. If the power went out he would bake. We finally found a vet who will take him when we're gone that has a generator. This past trip our oldest watched him. I had severe misgivings as he's not the most reliable kid around. It looks like he fed him but he had just about an half inch of water left when we got home! Thank god I invested in this supersized glass water bottle or he would have met us at the door with his tongue hanging out.

It is really strange weather here today! I woke up to pouring rain! It is chilly but not cold and there are huge puddles in the road and the end of our driveway and Mom's driveway. It looks like it is definitely an Indiana monsoon winter. Better than snow, though.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year!!!!!

Happy New Years Eve Everybody!!!!!!
Glad to here Dee that you will get your tank up and running again...:thumbsup2
Your new fish will be lucky that they found a home with you and Keith who care so much about them....some people say "well they are just fish" but to others like you they are family!!! and that is the only way to look at anything that is a pet or a living thing for that matter...right!

Hope everyone is feeling better...I who have not gotten sick in years came down with a nasty cold. I either got it at the airport or the plane. They said on the news that Florida,Georgia and Alabama have been harest hit by the flu this year....but I am feeling better.

Still have to finish unpacking....I hate unpacking...it's like the trip is done so no fun in unpacking like the fun in packing to leave.

hope the 2008 summer dates are a special cruise...anyone besides me and Kat looking at those dates to sail again?? If it is like Hawaii or Alaska(sure it wont be Alaska cause boat not set up for that but never can tell, hope it is though) than we will be on it.

Anyway Happy New Year's Eve!!!! :hourglass the clock is ticking to 2007

Dee I am so sorry to hear about your fish. It sounds like you lost a whole environment, community. I hope Keith is doing OK.

I still have a bunch of packed suitcases that I can't bring myself to get to...

We had booked the Mediterranean Cruise but we can't get an airfare lower than 1200 per person so I think we are going to back out. Even without the airfare it was going to be the most expensive vacation we had ever taken. The airfare is essentially a deal breaker. We are anticipating Hawaii/Alaska or maybe Christmas 2008 if it is something unique.

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

Got home a couple hours ago from one of the best vacations we ever had.

It was great meeting all of you, and it sure was hard to get off that boat Tuesday. I think we were the last ones off the ship. We lingered after breakfast and hung out with our friends who were staying on the boat for the next cruise as long as we could. Went to WDW after and had the best weather and got to see all we wanted in the parks despite the crowds.

Thanks to everyone for the little surprises and cards that were left in the stocking. It was great to come "home" to my cabin each day to treats & greetings in our stocking.

OK, the rumor, and I stress the word rumor, I heard on the ship about the 2008 special itinerary is........(drum roll, please) another Panama Canal Repo cruise to California. Now, if this turns out to be true I would definately be interested as long as it didn't interfere with Julia's school schedule. Unfortunately, the repo cruises usually are scheduled while school is still in session. We shall see. Whatever it is, it is supposed to be announced within the next few months.

Happy New Year Everyone!!!!

Did the last Panama Canal cruise and took my kids out of school for the 2 weeks and it was awesome!!!If you can do it, do it, and dont look back. The kids can do there homework on the ship. I was worried about that also and all the teachers said that we were crazy if we did not take advantage of it while we could. The kids did a report about the canal.
If it is going to be in the summer than you will be okay. They did it in May and Sept. and had Mexican Riviera in between. It was a BIG hit. Will do Mexican Riviera if they do that since it is less than 2 hrs to the port...

well everyone chatt some time later.....time for bed. We let the boys stay up on the comps till 12:30 tonight to bring in the New Years with there gaming friends. They just thought that that was the coolest thing.

Night all and have a blessed NewYear!!!1

Happy New Year Everyone!!!!!!

I was thinking this morning (I know, scary) that it might be fun to put together an address list for sending Christmas cards, birthday cards, etc. If anyone is interested please PM me your snail mail address and birthdays for members of your family who might like to get birthday cards. I know Sam LOVES to get mail. I just thought it might be a fun way to keep in touch.

Happy New Year to everyone! Thank you for all the cards and presents.

Was anyone else screaming their heads off at the Wonder on Xmas eve? Here's the best picture we were able to take. Did anyone get a clearer shot? It was really tough at night with 2 moving ships.

I felt like I was back in the old days when the only way to travel was by ship. It was just the coolest Christmas present ever.... okay, don't tell DH that or he'll take my GPS system back!!

No, none of our pictures came out well. Our camera doesn't work well at night. But we were yelling and screaming. My wife said it was one of the highlights of the cruise for her.

I just checked our pictures (I only had my little camera with me, didn't think ahead to go back and get the SLR) and you're picture is much clearer than any of mine. Hope you don't mind me snatching it!

Jen said she got some and she was going to try to clean them up. Jen, where are you?????? I didn't have my camera with me :( .

Thanks for the picture...My son watched it go by with his friend in our cabin but we were in Luminers having dinner and missed it...he said that it looked cool and all the people up on deck were screeming and the people on the Wonder were taking lots of pictures of us he said cause all the flashes were going off. I'm glad he got to see it. My other son Michael was some where running around. If not for your picture I wpould not have seen anything...thanks for posting it

Hi everyone!

This long lost sailor is finally home and checking in... Just got home a couple of hours ago, so won't be posting much, just wanted to touch base.

To all the DISers I met on this cruise, thanks for helping make the cruise a community...it was SO much fun! To those I didn't meet, I'm sorry we missed each other, but just sharing here on line has been great as well. I think the most fun of all was finding goodies coming back to the room.

We had a few fun days at the "world" before making our way home. And guess what! We had a virtual year of a million dreams experience. My husband and son were riding Thunder Mountain railroad and met a family who had received an "ultimate fastpass." It was this ticket with detachable tabs that you could use at the various fastpass attractions ANY time! The family only did ThunderMountain railroad and then were leaving the park. SO THEY GAVE THEM TO US!!!!  The park was incredibly crowded, so it was great having that advantage. Of course, we had already hit pirates (and it wasn't on there.)

OK, everyone, I didn't read back, but will tomorrow. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Robyn, thought of you when we got to Orlando on Tuesday and found out that there had been a tornado in Daytona. Apparently that didn't affect you?

OK, now that I've had some time to START catching up, I thought the pictures were great, thanks to those that shared (and thanks Jen for the CD I asked for--IOU1!) When I get some time to plow through everything, I'll see if I have anything share-worthy. Right now, I've started the :laundy: although that was in pretty good shape because the DVC places all have in room laundry so much of what I brought home was clean. But I still have to sort them all and get uncooperative owners of laundry to put it away. I'm dressed and heading to work out right now--have to do something about all the desert and wine and.....(too many things to list.)! After that, I might want to get groceries. I pretty much opened the fridge last night and dumped the few things that were in it. (Good thing garbage man comes today) I also need to thank the postal service for not bringing mail today--that gives me until tomorrow before I deal with that.

Alright, I'll get busy....

Robin, we raise them. We teach them manners, socialize them and give them a life time of love. This particular dog, Yager, loved Minnie, just adored her. She really is smiling at her. She's now in her first stage of training and expected to be a wonderful guide dog. She's very bright and inquisitive.

Here is a video of the cruise we took with her.

My blissful dreamland has just fallen apart.

Hubby went back to work today. All the children are gone. Oldest works a middle day shift so he's out of my hair. Middle is off in VA visiting friends, Youngest is off in CA visiting friends. Life is good. No sound in my house except the chirping of birds.

I just get a phone call... middle child is in Atlanta and his flight home lands at 6:30.

I didn't think he was coming home until the weekend.

ARGH!!!!!!!!

School doesn't start until next week, he'll be home each and every freaking day!!!!!

That is an awesome video...Yager looks like she had the time of her life and that those memories will be with her forever....most dogs would be affraid and bark at people in cosyumes like that but she was in heaven...and her and pluto...what a hoot...
Who ever gets her will just love that video you took...hope she gets a deserving person....some people who have guide dogs just should not except that they are handycapped yet being handy capped does not make you a good dog person. I have seen some people who have guide dogs treat there dogs with no respect. Do you see that oftemn in your line of work????

:rotfl2: I have to chuckle at that but also:scared: sorry your bliss will be cut short....
I was looking forward to kids gone today also ...even though I wil miss them. Michael went to school but Branden home with, well lets just say he can't seem to stay out of the bathroom. He has already missed 1 week of school before the cruise for WDW and another missed day in Middle school is like a prison sentance.

Have a e-,amil out to his first few teachers for work missed...hopefully I can send him on his way later.
