I just keep it to myself, like good underwear. ;)

Honestly though, people think we're nuts for going on so many of these. But we like the atmosphere of these cruises the best. You just can't beat them. How many other cruise lines have tons of message boards dedicated to them?

:rotfl: You don't show off your good underwear?;)

I agree, pretty much when people ask you just say it was great and leave it. Although I was able to share with my Jack Sparrow obsessed friend that Jack was sighted during the cruise. And my friend who is planning to go on a cruise (non-Disney..:sad1: ) in April and has been sharing excursion info with me was amused by my story of how after all of our discussion I blew the entire excursion thing on St. Thomas.

Many people don't get why we enjoy Disney cruises and our Disney vacation club as much as we do...but I think you just have to experience it to understand it! Aren't we lucky that we have?

I'm very afraid...today the mail comes. I can only imagine how many bills and Christmas cards I have accumulated since December 14 when I had it held. Probably as much as the dust on my furniture. :scared1: That's OK, first things first. I'm making progress on having everything unpacked and put away, and it really is more important to find the floor than the table tops, right?

I just hope I can be like Angela and some of the rest of you and have pictures in an album a week or so from now!

My albums won't be done for quite some time!

I'm STILL doing laundry!!!

St Maartin didn't require underwear!;)

:rotfl2: Thanks for making me laugh you guys...It's nice to know that I am not alone in the un-packing and developing of photos.

Thanks Sheerena
for the positive uptake on the DVC. As Im sure you went through and everyone who has bought into it second guesses there selves. It's alot of money for 400 pts and we also have financed through Disney although we dont plan on taking 10 years to pay it off. There interest rate is almost 11% variable  so we will at one point switch to our equity line but either way you slice it...interest is high these days on all loans. We can afford it but when you think of all that $$$ and the yearly maintance fee...well all I can say is good thing we love Disney.
Everyone who is a DVC member on these boards just love the DVC so that is a good sign. And if worse comes to worse we can always sell it...but have no intention on doing that but always glad to know that there is a way out!!!

By the way what happened to Jen...she is gone!!!! she has not even checked in....Jen, are you out there????

DH isn't enough of a Disney fan for us to join DVC :( . He has been to WDL and WDW once each and doesn't want to go back to either. DD and I do, though! And unless DCL goes to Alaska he won't do DCL again either. Again, DD and I probably will!

I have some pictures out on snapfish, need to load more then I can send the info to you all.

Don't know where Jen is. I have sent her several messages and not heard anything back. :confused3

We're ready to purchase more DVC to have enough for one cruise a year. We've decided we want to stick with cruising as our primary yearly vacation with some F&W festival thrown in every now and then.

When you consider how much cruises cost and how much points cost, we could buy the rest of the points we need for about as much as we would spend on 4-5 cruises (just the outright payment - no shipboard stuff). Then we'd have a cruise a year for the next 40 years or so. It really is a great deal if you know you want to cruise every year or two.

It is a lot of money, but at least it's financed and tax-deductible rather than these large lump sum cruise payments we keep having to pay. And better to do it now while Saratoga is still for sale. That will be cheaper than Animal Kingdom will be once it's available.

We would not be able to do the Med cruise if it were not for our points. We had used some for a trip we took to Disneyland when I made the reservation and we had EXACTLY the number we needed for the cruise. I was so shocked! And so happy.

It's been one of the best vacation bargins for us. When we bought we didn't live in Florida so when we moved down here we never thought we could use our points. I mean how many times can you go when you go about every two weeks?

Well, trading out and the cruises has been wonderful. I love the fact we aren't tied to a certain time of year too. Now that the cruises are going someplace else it makes it nice too.

We would love to use our pts for cruising and hope to do that for summer of 2008. Since we just had a big vacation and go camping for 10 days every summer, we will bank 400 pts so when cruise time comes we will have 800 pts. to use. plus 400 more if we want to take from the next year.

Our plan is to use our pts for me and Billie and than pay for the boys. Hoping that they will do a Mexican Riviera cruise again so it will cost less since we live in SanDiego. We dont like 7 day cruises but if DCL were out here it would be a no brainer. But traveling across country for 7 days is not worth it unless you tack on at least 5 days at WDW.

You must have alot of pts to use all of them for the MED cruise...I have not looked but isnt that alot of pts???

One cruise a year on pts...that would sure be nice.

And yes....thank god the interest is tax deductable!!!!:cool1: good off your taxs but bad on the pocket every month.

You all seem so knowlegable on using pts for cruiseng...what do you think is a good amount of pts for a cruise everyother year? We were hoping to eventually have about 500 - 700 total...I just hate the maintanance fee. That is what keeps us from wanting to purchase too many.

Have any of you ever rented pts for your trip and was that cheeper than paying without renting?

Not trying to turn this into a DVC board, but happen to have my points chart out for the cruises...had it out before I left. For a Cat 8 it is 433 per adult, 220 per child for the 10 night Med Cruise.

Just FYI...It's not often that I have an answer right in front of me.

We've rented before it's usually 10 a point. Still a bargn if you ask me!

I really want to take DD to WDW this summer. Wonder if it would be cheaper to go with a WDW package or try renting. Can non-DVC members "rent" points? Wonder how much they'd be, or how many I'd need. Hmmm...something to think about, I guess.

I have been posting my cruise pics on snapfish. If you want access to see them please let me know and I will pass that info on.......

Kat, for a studio at BCV you'll need 85 points for the 4 days you mentioned to me. If you rent, that's $850. Far cheaper than PAYING for a BCV room, but you can stay at the All-Stars for much less, I believe.

BTW, I wanted to thank everyone for their expressions of sympathies about my fish loss... It's nice to have people who understand these were not "just fish."

Hi Dee, how are you and Keith doing? hope your both well...tell him we all said "HI" :thumbsup2 by the way he is a great kid!!!!

I have been looking into the Caribbean Beach resort, actually. A little more than the All Star resorts but the package looks a little better. We will see what happens and see if Dave goes too. If he goes then we would do that I think. Just have to wait and see :) :thumbsup2

We have stayed there before and we liked it....would not hesitate to stay there again. It was peaceful, except around the main pool and the food court. However that was okay with me cause I like people and enjoy being around them so the pool area was nice and gave me people to chat with. I say ...stay there :thumbsup2 dont think you will be disapointed....

Well, I just put it on hold with AAA. The price is about $150 less than going directly through Disney. Caribbean Beach, preferred room, tickets, dining package. Cool deal. Now to get DH to make up his mind. He has been saying he doesn't ever want to go back, then last night I mentioned that I was thinking about it and he asked if he could go too :confused3 . Oh well. I will go Saturday morning and put my deposit on it and that way it is on hold and if he decides he does want to go I can simply add him to the package.

HAY ALL

All, as I was going through my pictures writing my trip report, I realized all of the great memories we will have of this cruise. For me, the best memories are the wonderful, happy moments, as shown on the faces of my children:

Makes it all worth it, doesn't it?
