You guys crack me up! I'm also looking forward to being home alone...but not until Thursday. It will be my luck that somebody will have to stay home that day as well.:goodvibes

Right now I'm waiting while the drivers license manual prints. Pat is taking his test tomorrow, and we thought it might be a good idea for him to look over the rules again. (He learned them all last year when he got his permit and again for drivers ed....but not all of that stuff stays with you.) Of course, he can't find the book, so I'm printing away.

OK, about done, off to grocery store!
I have seen some people who have guide dogs treat there dogs with no respect. Do you see that oftemn in your line of work????
Most that we know treat their dogs with lots of respect and as treasured family members. We always hope that our puppies will go to loving homes. We get to meet their partners usually and some raisers form strong bonds with them and continue their friendships for many years.

I would say more partners love their dogs and treat them well than not. But unfortunately there are all sorts of people and some view them as tools rather than partners in their life.

Robin, that sounds like me Thursday night and last Friday. :( I wonder if there wasn't some remnant of something with a delayed reaction from the cruise?? Better now than last week, though! By the way Robin, if you pm me your snail mail address I have a cd of pics to send you!

That I have found to be true...and I like the way that you put that "Tools, rather than partners". I could not do what you do(although would love to) cause I get to attached and would want to keep tham all...It takes a special person to do what you do because to do what you do takes a great deal of commitment and it cant be easy to say good bye to those wondreful loving "Partners"...Kudos to you for sure:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Thanks Robin, nope, not easy at all. My husband was very attached to Yager. They were very close, she loved him as well. But to see her go off with the trainer with her tail wagging as quick as it would go and never looking back let us know that she was looking forward to her new journey in life. We had done our job, done it well and she was ready to move on.

Ah, now I'm tearing up. She was such a sweetie.

One trip we took with her to Disneyland she hurt her foot. We think someone stepped on it. She never yelped. We noticed her slowing down a bit but we thought it was the heat. Even though she is use to Florida it was extremely hot in CA at the time. So we slowed down a bit took more rests (after all it was hard on us too!)

I was walking with her when one of the security guards pointed out to us that she was favoring her back leg. From then on I really paid attention and she was in considerable pain. But not once did she try to stop, she kept doing her job.

DH picked her up and we carried her out of the park but not before she could go and say hello to 'her' horses. She met them on her previous trip and one in particular just loved her. Apparently he loves all the dogs! :) So she got to go and give them a nose rub and we took her back to the hotel. We spent a few days in our room, but it just wasn't like her to slow down for anything.

Very special dog in more ways than one..you were lucky to have found each other!!!!

Would love to know who here breaders were and her parents...would love one of there pups...

Anybody want to feel even better about your cruise? One of DHs co-workers left on December 26 for a cruise (not Disney.) He checked in today and although they went to many of the same islands we did, but said the seas were rough and the skies cloudy and drizzly much of the week.

Wow--with the exception of Key West, I don't think we could have had better weather! I know that the wind cancelled some excursions, but it was still a glorious day! :beach:

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!!! I am sorry that I did not get to meet many of you. It seemed like we were always on the go. I took 830 pictures. I have pictures for many of you.

Congrats to Palakacruisers - Laura and Rick Blackburn
You know the Adopted Lusks - the family crammed right in between our four cabins.

For those of you that don't know they were the Disney Family choosen to board the ship first. TOO COOL!!

Angela, it was no trouble being in between your family on the cruise. We heard very little. We too had lots of pictures to get printed this past weekend; about $90 worth. It was really nice meeting your family and all the other people we ran into. The cruise just went by too quickly and had to get back to reality. Laura still tells me that if she hadn't caused us to be late getting to the port, we never would have been seleted as the first family. I asked her when I found out about this seletion if we got a free cruise or got to blow the horn or something but just got a dirty look. We really enjoyed the cards and gifts in the stockings and this was the first things our daughter Jessica would check when we got back to the room. Thanks to all.

We are hoping that Disney will go to Alaska in 2008, and like others have said we will know in the next couple of months when the schedules come out. Otherwise we will probaly do Celebrity in 2008. Again it was nice meeting everyone on the cruise and we hope to meet some of you at a later date.

I don't think we had anything to complain about at all with the weather!!! Overall I think it was a wonderful time!!!! Wish I was back on the ship right now, in fact! I am listening to my Castaway Club CD, not sure if that helps or not :confused3 .

Robin, you won't believe all the times people have stopped me to buy her! Or, train their dogs!

Our school has their own dogs they breed. You can be put on a list to get a dog that doesn't make it but for the most part dogs that fail are recareered in some way. It would have to be a health reason for them not to make it in some way.

You can go to our web site (in the link) and be put on a waiting list for one of our dogs though. I'm the area coordinator for this county and we had two dogs that didn't make it this past year. One ate a bat, so they dropped him from the program and the other one had an alergey to mold. So they do come up, but not all that often.

Anyone else home yet? I am trying to weed through the laundry amidst my tears.

Hello Everyone and Happy New Year

We made it home the night of December 31. We had stayed onboard for the extra four days. Our vacation was totally magically and our vow renewal ceremony turned out just fantastic. Disney did such a special job of the whole thing for us. Sorry we missed the ornament exchange but at that time I was getting my hair done as our ceremony started at 4:15. Thank you to everyone who left cards and gifts for us. The stockings were such a great idea. The girls enjoyed checking them each time we got home.

Take care and love to all.

Sandra

Dee I am so sorry to hear about your fish. It sounds like you lost a whole environment, community. I hope Keith is doing OK.

I still have a bunch of packed suitcases that I can't bring myself to get to...

We had booked the Mediterranean Cruise but we can't get an airfare lower than 1200 per person so I think we are going to back out. Even without the airfare it was going to be the most expensive vacation we had ever taken. The airfare is essentially a deal breaker. We are anticipating Hawaii/Alaska or maybe Christmas 2008 if it is something unique.

-Sarah

We booked the Mediterranean Cruise for June 27 while onboard the Disney Magic this time. We are expecting to have to cancel but had nothing to lose by booking it now and cancelling if the money situation doesn't look good. We have a cruise booked on the Pride of Hawaii (NCL) for December 24, 2007 for seven nights. We are hoping not to be to disappointed with NCL after cruising with DCL. We just really wanted to see the Hawaiian Islands so had no choice but to book with NCL.

Take care,
Sandra

I can honestly say that I am vacationed out....think the first 5 days at WDW did it for me...lol...We always try to plan our vacations so we come back saying and feeling that way...nothing worse that coming home and going back to work feeling like you did nothing...right! That is the problem with 1 week vacations...they are never enough.

We are looking forward to using our new DVC to put towards cruises(if we bank our points) or just using them for other places. We purchased 2-contracts for 200 pts each for a total of 400 pts. It is an ouch in the pocket but as much as we use Disney it was well worth it...plus it is good for 47 years so can will it to the boys..lucky them...wish someone would will me something!!!!:goodvibes

Anyone out there willing to will me something????;)

After all it is only $$$$(:scratchin hmmmm) DH says I "ONLY" everything to death... and the memories are soooo well worth it...I asked Michael what his favorite part of the vacation was and he said" What wasent"...he said it was all the Bomb!!!

Dh and I grew up with nothing as children so being able to do this for our kids is a blessing.....We thank God all the time....we are soooo thankful for what we have that we will never take it for granted and always give back in one way or another....We are truly blessed even to just have each other, our pets and our friends. And without any of them/you we would have nothing!!! Thanks to all of you for coming into our lives!!!!

WOW...cool...eather way that ROCKS!!!!! we are waiting to see what pops up for the sumer of 2008. Would be great if it was a cruise throught the Mexican Riviera...that was a big hit...would not have to fly anywhere...if it is somewhere through the Carribbian we will not go..we want to do something different. Would love, just love the MED. cruise but to far to fly for my liking. It will be an awesome cruise. May try a Hawaiin cruise however...wish DCL would do that for sure!!also Alaska!!! either one of those we will go on for sure...

I miss you guys!! I don't know if anyone else is having this problem but everyone asks how the trip was. I say awesome, fantastic, super then they ask me to tell about it and there really are not many words to describe how great it was. Sooo, I just hand them the photo album filled with 250 pictures. That is only a quarter of what I took but it is a start. :rotfl: Anyone else sick? Runny noses started here two days ago. We stopped taking the airborne once we got home, but started back up yesterday.

Chat with you soon.

Yes...sick here and have not been sick for years. Have a BAD cold...stuffy nose, cough, scratchy throat, tiered. No fever or achs nothing like that. Sure that I causgt it at the airport or in plane.

Saw on the news that Florida and a couple other states are real bad with the flu and other health problems. O well just glad that was healthy for vacation.

Hope you feel better

Sounds like we're all sick. Hubby came down with a cold and it's taken me days to get my land legs back. Still woozie.

Yup, Robin he ate a flying bat. They were worried about rabbies so dropped him. Shame too, he's a real smart little pup. Goes to his forever home tomorrow. Gonna miss him.

DH sick with cold. Started feeling bad New Years Eve. Figures he got it at "the world." (Where were those people with the nice hand wipes every time you turned around?);)

I think I'm trying to get his cold but so far I'm good. The kids are fine, but I'm sure they will wait until they are supposed to be back in school to get sick.

Robyn, congrats on your DVC. I don't think you will regret it at all. I remember when we bought our first one we cringed, but I can honestly say that it's been absolutely great and within a year or two we were telling people it was one of our best decisions.

It is hard to begin to tell people about the trip...where do you start?

I just keep it to myself, like good underwear. ;)

Honestly though, people think we're nuts for going on so many of these. But we like the atmosphere of these cruises the best. You just can't beat them. How many other cruise lines have tons of message boards dedicated to them?
