Good morning everyone.

Well, no snow day today so kids are all at school. We do have a winter storm warning for tomorrow (starting at 2 a.m.). Might use up our 3rd snow day. They give us 5 snow days per year. After that, we have to make them up. It's never happened yet. We live right by Lake Erie so we get alot of "lake effect" snow.

I never did buy the special t-shirts for the cruise. I wanted the one that everyone had size problems with so I just never bothered ordering it.

I bought light up bulb necklaces (string of lights) from Current for myself and DD. Me and DD will be wearing them on embarkation day so come say hi if you see us. I'll look for those of you who will be wearing the t-shirts.

Kat--room # is correct.

Judy

Judy i bought an extra large and it was too small - I will bring it for you. Cafe press gave me a refund but told me to keep the shirt.

Does anyone know if you need sign in/out privileges to get into the new Sea Quest? That's the place on Deck 2 for the 10-14 y/o crowd. Keith really wants to try it out but he won't have signing privileges...

The info that I was givin was that it is not a "Club" per say ...and there is no checking in and out...but there is a councler in there making sure the kids dont jump on things and that the kids are age appropriate...there is also a schedual when younger than 10 can come in...It is just another place for them to hang out..for the 10-13(or is it 14?)abyway that is what the DCL said to me but it would not be the first time they were wrong...have you tryed to check on these boards aby typing in to "Search" under Sea Quest...have done that a while back and there were posts in there on it....

Sorry, Dee - don't know much about that club either.

Julia will have sign out privledges also. She is at an age where she really wants that independence. We've tested her with it a couple times at home and she has done well. I have put much more stress on the safety rules that MUST be followed, and I think she understands how important those are. She usually doesn't break rules that are set down, but sometimes can forget to use her common sense  .

We should get together and make sure they have similar rules! :rotfl: That way there will be at least one other child that has to follow the same rules, eh? Sam is going to have to let us know via the white board in our room if she has gone somewhere other than the place she last told us. No going to someone else's room withouth parental permission from a parent on both sides. That sort of thing....

Well, we have to sit down and make our contract still, but our biggie (and she remembers this one from last cruise) is she is not allowed to be in the corridors unless she is going to a destination and is with a buddy, and is not allowed to be on elevators alone.

I'm kinda in the middle of where you guys are for the junior set. Kevin will be allowed sign out privileges, but there will be rules around it, only 3 or 4 places he can go from/to, other events only with pre-approval, etc. He's usually pretty responsible, so unless he messes up he'll be fine. He won't be going to people's rooms unless we've planned it ahead of time. I try to make mine hang out in the common areas as much of the time as possible...as long as this cruise is I might have to back off of that a little, but we'll see. He doesn't need charge privileges.

Thanks. I'm not sure the XL will fit me though. I normally wear a 14 or 16 top depending on the brand and style. Don't like them too tight so my stomach buldges (err, I mean stomach muscles!) don't show.

Well, kids are home from school. They said everyone (teachers included) was talking about the snow storm we are supposed to get and the fact that there might not be school tomorrow. I love snow days! I just hope it comes early enough to cancel school. I get nervous when it hits while they are in school and my DS has to drive home in it. It's about a 25 minute drive on the freeway.

 I'm getting sooooo excited. My goal is to finish the packing by this weekend. The only thing I'll have to leave out is the boys school pants and shoes. They go to a Catholic high school and I take their pants for them to wear to dinner. They wear Kahki Dockers. Maybe I'll just make them wear the same pair all next week so I can be done packing!!!

Still no news on DS's MRI results...

Judy

Aww man I miss snow days. :guilty: I remember in high school they started calling them the night before...so we'd all stay up late clicking refresh on the county website waiting for it to say there was no school. Good times. :rotfl: My senior year we got a 6-day weekend cause of snow! :goodvibes Someone called that we were gonna have a 5-day weekend but nobody saw the extra day coming.
It doesn't snow here. :guilty: And there wasn't snow last winter break. So there better be some extreme snow this year after the cruise! :goodvibes

Well, I remember crowding around the AM Radio (which was the size of a small conference table) and listening for our school to be called.

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

I was thinking the same thing....that hitting refresh on the computer was not the way we heard about snow days....rather every TV and radio in the house on different channels, and I and my brother checking back and forth frequently hoping SOMEONE would say SOMETHING! :jumping1:

WE would wait to hear the town sirin to blow...

We always listened to the radio and watched tv. No on-line back then. A computer as powerful as what I have on my desk would have taken up acres!!!!

I watched pirate: pirate: last night while I baked cookies! DD is watching it again tonight :) .

Quiet this afternoon. Good luck on getting that snow day. We got the news today that instead of getting out of school June 20th we now get out June 22nd. It seems so far away. Its a bummer to have to work extra days since we don't get paid for snow days.
