Unless they close the roads my office is open :confused3 . Dave took me to work this morning with the 4WD. It is a ghost town in here at this point. Many people have gone home and are working from home. It isn't bad here, quiet and better able to get work done! Or not :)

hi guys,
it is snowing here also..but not like kat has...it seems to be turning icy though..i went into work early and came home early..they say wed morning may be a mess wth ice..
i wll go in late and stay late..glad to have tht freedom at work to make my own hours sometimes..
take care and be warm and safe:daisy:

Good morning all! :sunny:

Kat, sounds like you guys are really getting it. Be really careful! I'm guessing Sam and Dave wont have school again!

We only got rain, so we do, and I'm headed to Kev's class as soon as Brian gets going. I'm sure this is his last year to do the Valentine Box thing. He made it, but almost decided not to take it in because one boy in class thought the whole thing was dumb. Good thing there was candy involved....

Wanted to be the first to wish you all a....

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!

Dave had to leave town this morning...Orlando believe it or not, but nothing to do with Disney. He's on the other side of town. Our valentines celebration will be this weekend, but he did give me some flowers last night...awwwwwww!

Everyone have a good day!

I hope you made it home safely last night. We got about 8" here. The kids had school cancelled yesterday so I worked from home. I will do the same today because the roads are still iffy.

That means Rebecca will miss her V-Day party at school so I am bracing myself for the waterworks that will come but there's no way I am driving 40 miles on icy and snowy roads just to take her to a party. There are limits to what I will do for my kids.

stay safe and stay home making love hearts if you can today..it is still sleeting here..i have to go to work..
safe and happy day to you all...

JR, I'd give you some roses, but...ya know. Hope all went well with DD...she's at that age where Valentine parties are a BIG deal...we are just about to outgrow them here. Kev had a couple of "secret admirer" valentines in our mailbox last year, I'm thinking he could be disappointed if he expects that to happen every year. Of course, he might be relieved, who knows?:confused3

Hi Joanie!

Happy Valentines Day everyone...I bought you all a box of choc.

Sherrena thanks for the flowers...lol...

Kat are you working today again?????

Sorry to hear about Rebeccas party...:sad1: but I agree that is a long way to travel in that kind of weather....can you have a family Valentines party ???? make her fun foods and bake cupcakes together and make valentine hearts and things like that.

Dh and I are not getting anything for each other this year...we are fat enough(so no choc.) and flowers just cost way to much...and going out to eat is not an option because the restaurants take hrs here to get into even with a ressie...

so we will do something at home...a fun dinner for us and the kids!!!:thumbsup2

Stay safe all and have a blessed day!!!1:) :) :)

Well, Janie is out of town again, so cupcakes are out. I don't bake.

She's been watching Playhouse Disney all day so she's been fine. I am not sure she fully understood she is missing the party -- she'll probably be more upset tomorrow when she finds out they had it without her!

Have you thought about telling her before she goes back to school???? may be easier coming from you than a surprise at school. So you don't do cupcakes ha:rotfl2: chicken are ya???

What about getting some arts and crafts going after you tell her...like paper hearts....do you remember how to make them? Just fold a piece of paper in half and on the folded part cut out a half heart..than open it an vola..you have a full even sided heart:love:

much easier than those nasty cupcakes:goodvibes she can make a card for Jaine...you can have fun also making cards...Billie helps with arts and crafts all the time...

I have faith in you...:thumbsup2 can you make hot chocolet????? that is easy..popcorn:: have some popcorn with it and have a popcorn fight!!!!:rotfl:

:flower3: Happy Valentine's Day :flower3:

party: :bday: :bday: :bday: party:
Happy Birthday, Dave (belated )

Sherrena, Thanks for the flowers, they're beautiful. And Robin, the chocolates were most delicious :thanks: :cloud9:

Joanie - any luck getting your point value for your cruise yet?? I think there is something to your thinking about making you wait = making you want it more. And, I heard the Tag Fairy LOVES to hang out on the Community Board ;) . Obviously, I don't go there since I still remain tagless :sad1: .

Angela - I'm sorry you guys won't be joining the EBRC  , but hey...Scotland, that's a pretty cool vacation. Ummm, you have a very nice MIL :goodvibes

Hey Sandra :wave2: . How are ya. Glad to see you got a cabin on the WBRC. It was wild trying to book that morning, wasn't it??

Robin - you are a Saint  . Your sister should be grateful your family is willing to take this on. Ya know every family has one...my brother and SIL had this interesting philosophy on child rearing. Basically, they think they raise themselves. Unfortunately, that was not too condusive to one of my neices(now 19), who was out of control since age 3. A few years ago, my clueless SIL actually made a statement to me - maybe if she got pregnant it would be the best thing for her, teach her some responsibility  . THey never asked me to take her off their hands, although my brother did ask me to pay for this hoity toity (sp?) culinery school ($40,000) for said neice. Umm, how 'bout telling your wife to get a job. Sorry rambling here:rolleyes1 . I hope you can help Morgan. Sometimes just a postive enviroment could go a long way in changing a teenager's life. You and your DH are good people.

Hey Kat, How are you doing these days & how is your Mom doing? Wow making ADR's already!! How exciting!!!

We got about 6-8" of sleet where we are. School was cancelled. But the best part is up North where we are going skiing for school break next week they got 2-3 feet of snow, snow, snow :woohoo: . Three feet of fresh snow is so much nicer to ski on than 10" of hard ice packed man-made crap.

J.R. - bummer no SWMBO on Valentine's Day :flower3: . I think Rebecca will need extra chocolates :goodvibes . Poor thing.

I hope everyone drives safely and stays warm. Except for you Robin....we know you will be toasty warm:rotfl: :rotfl:

We ended up with about a foot or so of snow. Schools were closed again today because of the blowing and drifting. And Sam doesn't have school tomorrow wither :confused3 . We have been out today and it isn't that bad now but I guess not all the roads are as clear as ours is. They have already lost their President's Day holiday next week and Good Friday, now they are getting into extra days in June! I have Monday off because Sam was supposesd to be off. We now get one floating holiday a year that we can take on either a government or religious holiday so I used next Monday since Dave has classes all day Monday. Now I guess I get a day to myself! There aren't any other holidays that we aren't off that I might want so what the heck.

We had Mom stay with us last night because the snow was coming down so heavily that I really didn't want to try to go over there and back to put her to bed last night. Dave spent the afternoon clearing her driveway and ours and a path between the houses so she is back home and I will be heading over there soon.

:

You're welcome, ladies, nothing but the best for my cruise buddies!:goodvibes

We're chilly this morning but I have nothing to complain about compared to everyone else. Kat, JR, take care, drive safely and bundle up! I DO NOT miss having to get out and go to work when nobody should be on the roads. I wrecked once after a snowstorm, hit an icy overpass and slid into a guard rail...no big deal, just lots of $$$ to un-crease the fender. I remember driving by tons of cars in the same predicament in other storms, watching a policeman "skate

Dave is in Orlando this morning...said it was nice yesterday but was even getting cold (for them) there last night. Today he has to spend the day outside in a Home Depot parking lot under a tent...that would have been a much better gig yesterday! They're kicking off some sort of co-promotion or something and this has been planned for months.

Not very wide-awake this morning, despite a cup of coffee and having made a round-trip to the high school this morning already! Better go do this :yay: or something to get myself jump-started. Talk to you soon!

If I had made cupcakes, they wouldn't be edible. I cook, but I do not bake.

I'm a guy -- you really think I am good at arts and crafts?

Becca seemed okay this morning going to school. I am sure what she really wanted most was the candy and her teacher will give her that today. She missed her Christmas party due to the cruise and came home in January with a big bag of candy and other stuff from school. So I think she'll be okay once the teacher hands her the cards and candy.

She played in the snow with her brothers last night -- some of the drifts were over her head!

hi mary ann
no, nothing yet on points..:confused3 they said it would be early feb..hello--its mid feb now!!.. they have their reasons im sure!!!
and mary ann dont feel bad i am tagless also!!

Well, it's not the first time Disney has shown they need to take a refresher course in "Calender 101":rotfl2: . I hope it come through for you soon.

Billie will do Arts and crafts...he's a guy...but I must admit that he needs my guidens to do it right:rotfl2: if I had him make hearts without showing him how they may have come out square...lol...well maybe not hearts but something a little more complicated.

Glad that Rebecca is doing okay:thumbsup2

I have been waiting for the DVC pts to also come out for the cruise...they are taking forever....would sure like to know what there method of madness is:confused3 ...can't for the life of me figure it out. Seems if they have the cash price for the cruise it would be easy enough to figure out the pts. I know that is is a different umbrella from Disney and is contracted through a different board but come on...

The weather out here for the next few days will be about 75+ so am enjoying that for the next few days. I have lot's of stuff coming up for school volunteering...lot's of big stuff that I of course put myself in charge of...I never learn:sad2: but after all it is for the kids:)

I will for sure between the school stuff and my niece and my kids, my MaryKay buisness, my house ,pet sitting, and DH I will be running amuck:upsidedow

Thank God that I have you all and the rest of the DIS to loose myself in for a short while:grouphug:

So I must be finish my hr of play and do my looser(I mean volunteer) work..:rolleyes1 O' who am I kidding I love volunteering and the recognition and good feelings I get for my hard work:thumbsup2

So till than have a blessed day always and peace out...:goodvibes

We are definitely in the grip of winter here! We got just over a foot of snow and the kids are home again today. Good thing Dave's classes were all cancelled too!

Joanie and MaryAnn, I am with you in the tagless state but I don't worry about it. I'd be fun, sure, but I just don't seem to be able to say the clever things the TF picks up on so I just do my thing and don't worry about it.

Guess who IM'd me earlier today...Jen...and she is fine. However she is bored with school and trying to get through it. Did not have much time to chat with her cause needed to leave. Hopefully she will stop in and say "Hi" she has been very busy.

I did let her know that we were all wondering how she was doing.

My kids are driving me crazy today...they just keep bickering and not lisening to a work I have to say...so they have both lost time on the comp tomorrow....that will teach them:confused: :sad2: :)

And just think ...another teen in my house soon..arent we the lucky ones:scared1:

So till the morning and afternoon for some....I will check in then:thumbsup2

Morning everyone! :sunny:

Kids have a four day weekend (yippee-not!) They are still counting how many incomplete weeks of school they've had since New Years. (So am I, for that matter!) :sad2:

Robin, welcome to my world--three of them! (Although I have to admit that although my 16 year old has his teenage moments - and plenty of them lately- he hasn't come close to the level of rebelliousness that your niece has seen.) If it makes you feel any better, we had the same night last night. Once they all got finished with their roaming, they had about 1/2 hour in the basement to hang out, watch TV, whatever before they went to bed. :scared1: They spent most of it bickering and yelling. I had to have not one but two "meetings" during that 1/2 hour. It's amazing the things they can find to argue about! After the second they were on notice that it was their final chance. They got through the last ten minutes just great!:thumbsup2 :sad2:

I'm off to do some things before their social lives take over my day. Stay warm, everyone!

No long weekend for the kids here! three snow days this week and a day due to a water main break last week means no President's Day holiday off and no Good Friday off either. I took Monday as my floating holiday so I could stay home with Sam but since she has school I get a me day!!!! Going to go to Indy and go shopping I think!!!!!:rolleyes1
