Morning all! My computer is driving me crazy! when I got home last night the screen saver wasn't up and the icons won't let me double click. Instead, I have to click the box that pops up and says open. Then half the time it won't let me do anything. Then boxes keep popping up. Right now a grey box keeps popping up and saying delete and other things and deleting half of what I type! I have tried restoring to a couple of days back, no luck. I have Norton antivirus and it says I am clean so I don't know what is going on but it alis driving me nuts. The stupid computer keeps trying to install a program for my video card even though the program is already installed. nuts! I feel like there is a gremlin in my machine or something! It took me five minutes to type that last line! UGH :furious:

Good evening. It's been crazy at school tomorrow is officially the last day of first quarter and parents are scrabling to get credit for their kids. :confused3 Something is not right here! To me it should be the kids scrambling not the parents pushing the teacher??? I had meetings until 5pm at school. I cancelled the last one when the parent showed up without the student - I told her that there was no point to meet about the 14 yr old without him there. Parent actually said "It has nothing to do with her son" sheez. It's his grades and his missing assignments!!!

JUst venting

I swear it's not me...even if it does sound like my child... :lmao: He was there for his conference, although he didn't breathe the entire time!

:welcome: Happy-At-Disney from PA!

It's cold here today as well....ready to head South! :beach:

Unfortunately, Norton does a bad job of catching spyware. Same sort of thing happened to my father-in-law's computer. Every time he opened an internet browser, he got all sorts of popups for a gambling site. Took several runs through Microsoft Defender and Spybot Search and Destroy to clear it out. Both are free programs, so you might want to try Google and find them.

Philly suburbs!

Oh, you mean Western New Jersey, then. :)

(Sorry, native Pittsburgher. Or, in other words, Eastern West Virginian)

hi sue,
i used to live in wa...tacoma for a short time..rained 1/2 the time i was there...i worked on the afb,,that was a long time ago..wa is a beautiful state..and great apples lol

SWMBO wants us to move to Seattle. She just interviewed for a job out there at the mothership (headquarters for her company, a large monopolistic software company) but didn't get it, but I expect her to keep trying. I'm ambivalent. I like our house and community where we live now, but I'd move if we needed to -- my concern is moving the kids again. They are finally making friends after our last move two years ago.

Good Morning all.

It's raining agin this morning. Busy day today. Grades are due for 1st qtr today, Its the end of our spirit week - I run student government and ASB - we have a big spirit assembly. and it is junior high dance night. Just how every 45 year old wants to spend the day with 750 7-8-9th graders all hyped up and at school until 9:30pm being emotional.

BUT...it is Friday. Only 6 weeks left. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I work in the school district of the mothership. Has lots of technology advantages but parents have lots of expectations from school and teachers that aren't always realistic (and few expectations from their kids!)

We aren't moving! Not even thinking about it :goodvibes . DD hates me again this morning :confused3 , oh well, that's my life these days.

Well I made it back to sleep and am awake now. Wow feels like the cruise is right around the corner. Where is Dee?

Susan, we should get together with Dee for coffee before the cruise. Need extra chaperones? Just kidding! Would rather throw myself down in front of a charging highschool football team than deal with the drama of middle school kids (girls) at their first dance of the year? Have fun tonight!

My DD is really sick stayed home one day but with all her A/P classes she can't afford another day. She won't take meds - says they are un-natural. She is a real purist (Unlike her dad and I)

I am going to fill her with OJ and chicken soup this weekend with lots of sleep. Moved her final open water dive until next weekend. I would just take some medication and get better but until it gets bad enough to take her to the doctor, I will respect her wishes since she is 16 but if it gets out of control I will take over.

Not surprising. We may want to talk to you offline about where would be the best place to live. We're in a really good SD here in Chicagoland. But we are not that type of parents -- when the school calls us about our kids, it's our kids who are the problem.

Coffee, dinner, drinks... I'm in

2nd dance. first dance had almost 400 kids, this should have about 250. Busy soccer, basketball, elementary carnivals, etc

Angela, Dee is around, I heard from her last night. I think she is just laying low.

I wish I lived close to some of you guys. It gets lonely here! :sad2:

My no-longer-significant-other worked for the mothership, now he contracts for them. We still live in that area (the adjacent school district :teeth: ), because I love it. I won't go anywhere else. Feel free to ping me offline as well, JR.

I can't keep up with the chatter. I've tried since I got back, but I have work to catch up on...can you guys quiet down for a bit? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

That would be a looooong roadtrip for most of you! :car: I think JR lives closest of most anybody on this thread.

Why didn't I know all of you when I lived in Spokane?????? Oh yeah, that was 18 years ago, before the DIS boards existed. Oh well. :rotfl:

It's snowing here and it's accumulating!!

Angela--thanks for the help with the calendar.

About the t-shirts--I'm thinking about ordering the one with the different color cap sleeves. It looks like it runs really small. I might order up 2 sizes. Any suggestions for those of you who ordered this one?

Talk to you later.

Judy
