12/16/06 10-day holiday cruise Part 3

Hello,

So am I the only one to wake up to snow yesterday?!!! Just a couple of inches. It is a wet snow and they even plowed the roads. We still have some on our grass. The little kids in the neighborhood made snowmen. It's supposed to be in the 40's with rain/snow mix all week. I'm dreading the high school football game on Saturday. If we win though, we're in the playoffs!!

I seriously need to get organized for this cruise. Time is ticking away and I have sooo much to do yet....Christmas cards, shopping, packing, Thanksgiving.

I bought us some airborne to take before we leave. Anyone ever use it? I'll try anything to not get sick on vacation.

I hear you there! I have a lot of stuff put aside but no where to put it yet. My brother is coming out for a few days before Thanksgiving so I have nowhere to put suitcases until after he leaves. I have my Christmas cards and I am seriously thinking about getting them addressed this weekend so all I have to do is mail them come Thanksgiving! I have been working on my shopping.

Judy - I have never used airbourne, but I use a prdouct called "Emergen-C" daily as a preventitive. Funny- went I went away Columbus Day weekend I forgot to take it and sort of got out of the habit of using it daily and sure enough, last week got sick. Maybe coincidence , but one of my daycare kids is ALWAYS comin down with or sick with some kinda of cooties and I don't catch too much of it.

I have a vacation routine that I follow....two weeks before we leave I add another multivitimin and take a dose of acidophilis. Back in 2002 right before we cruised is when that Norwalk Virus came on strong and they were canceliing cruises. I asked an ER Doc friend of mine what he recommended and he said acidophillis is loaded with good stomach bacteria that helps fight the bad ones. Same as the stuff in yogart, which I try to eat a serving of daily. Nothing worse than those stomach Heebie-Jeebies.

No snow here yet, but I think your weather is coming our way inthe form of rain

I agree about ALL of those "bad boyfriend" songs. Avril especially seems to be mad a lot--I think my boys say she may have helped write the Kelly Clarkson one!

Jen, sorry we're getting too into finding songs. I think I started it 'cause you mentioned you were having good and bad days, so I wanted something for you to do when you had the bad days. When I was in college that's what we did any time a friend fought with her boy.....we also but I"m not sure that helped!

Good luck with the costume stuff--not having one right now can start panics! Stores nearby us DO seem to have lots of Ninja choices...

AND Kat, I bet your little DD is a cute --no matter how much she wouldn't admit it. I think Kev is a cute and gets cuter the more attitude he tries to put on!

I'm taking notes on all this "pre-cruise" illness prevention. Won't hurt DS16 taking finals that week, either!

I have never tryied 'Airborne" but have a friend that uses it all the time and she says it works.
We use Colloidal Silver and never get sick anymore. Use to get flu and colds and sinus infections...you name it and since we have used that nothing. There have been times that I have ran out and so the kids would go without and get sick...so am never without anymore, we buy it by the gallons.

Geesh I need to go eat...I can get worse than my kids when I get on this thing(comp) the only problem is that I can make them get off...no one to make me get off. O'Well... So I there for get addicted!!!

Since I have lost weight my ****s are gone so know I have to go and buy a "NUBRA" fake silicone ones to wear in my bathing suit so I can were it... Something else to spend $$$$$on

Yeah. I got my flu shot this morning. My arm hurts but at least that is done! And I need to get my vitamin C out and start taking it again. I usually take it all winter and just haven't gotten to it yet. DD has a cold right now so she should be taking it too.

Don't you hate that!!! Every time I have lost a few pounds that is where the weight goes from first! Not fair!!! (*stomps foot*) And it sure as heck isn't where it goes back to first either.

OK, it's not like I have too much time on a business trip, but I have to say this: DO NOT -- EVER -- USE COLLOIDAL SILVER.

1) It's useless
2) It's DANGEROUS (and will turn your skin a permanent "interesting" color)
3) It's banned by the FDA, so however you're getting it, it is illegal and therefore -- see #2.

Airborne works great. So does ColdEEZ (the latter is great if you already have a cold -- mine go away in 2 days when I use it). Acidophilus is great all year, because it is a good bacteria that competes with the bad ones, and it keeps your digestive system healthy.

Anyhow, PLEASE don't use silver.
