12/16/06 10-day holiday cruise Part 3

Our forecast shows a little rain later in the week and a chance of snow showers on Friday, but no real snow so far!!! Thank the powers that be!!! SIL is supposed to move in just under two weeks and the chances of getting her out are better if there is no snow on the ground!!!

DH is sitting next to me playing a WWII computer game. Lots of shooting and explosions. It is a loud game, I think I am going to go read, it's giving me quite a headache.

My family is stuck on I-90 with 6 inches of snow and behind a big accident. Been in traffic since 8pm going from Issaquah to North Bend.

Only good thing is it is not snowing here.

we truly do not get a lot of snow here or if we do it melts right away. Our school districts here don't even have snow days in their school year so if they miss school we have to make it up either mid-winter break (feb), spring break (Apr) or at the end of the school year - usually (end of June).

I hate it when we make them up at the end of June - we already go until something like June 24th. Remember I'm the teacher.

okay, having said that. Let me be the kid and hope for a snow day tomorrow.

I know I'm the only one on and I am talking to myself. oh, well. You prpably already think I'm crazy...

Snowing here too!! Oh well. I just get so worked up and nervous but there is nothing that I can do about it so I guess I will just relax and enjoy the pretty scenery.

oo that's no fun...riding in the snow is so fun though...when its really deep we ride the horses with no saddles or bridles because if we fall off...its a soft landing...

They keep calling me telling me they only moved 10 ft or so on I-90. LOTS of crunched cars and TRUCKS!!!! Their 30 min drive has almost been 2 hours.

Well I am sure they will be fine, but I will say alittle prayer for them. I just drove home from Enumclaw about 5 miles it was slushy and slowing pretty hard but not too slick yet.

I know their fine - they keep calling - I love cell phones how did I live so many years without them??

And they are in my husbands BIG Honda Ridgeline truck. Not in my van that moves all over the place

Yeah - I have a chevy blazer (4X4) and I was doing 30 in a 35 because of the snow and this large truck seemed to think that he could push me. I didn't let it bother me just went the speed I felt comfortable. Sometimes it is those guys with big trucks and 4X4s that cause the most problems.

Angela - I know this is hard to believe but if we could drive in a straight line Enumclaw is very close to where I live beyond North Bend. There just happens to be a watershed and no roads from here to there.

I agree, but I must say that having lived out here 11 years I-90 is really good about slowing down. At least when you get to the 70 mph area out by me.

Seattle Public schools just closed - maybe we'll be next - I get the call usually before they announce as staff.
