We paid for our trip about 1 month ago and we are taking DCL transportation....the kids enjoy the bus with everyone on it and my DH and I can sit and relax. After all the $$$$$$that we spend for 5 days at WDW and 10 day cruise plus flight, cash to bring and $$$$ to make up for $$$$ that my DH will miss for 2 weeks, and $$$to leave for animal care, whats a few more $$$$ lol. :)
As for our flight back to California we have a 3:30 flight out so will do some shopping at the airport(they have great shops) and spend some more $$$$ Life is good!!!!! :cool1:

Robin  Billie :scared1: (paid for the trip) Branden :goofy: Michael popcorn::

taking the bus b/c we are getting in around noon on the 16th

If we weren't coming in the night before and leaving so late the day we get back we'd probably be taking the bus too but all the flights we could get that come in on the 16th get in sooooo late that we just decided to come in the day before. Plus that way we can stop on the way in to port and pick up any last minute things we might have forgotten. And on the way home they changed our flights and we don't leave until 8:30pm so we will have lots of time. We usually end up at Downtown Disney and who knows what all else we will do that day. It just makes more sense for us to rent a car with all that time and all the luggage we have on the 10 day. We did the same thing last year when we went on the three day and had DM with her wheelchair. We rented a minivan and parked it at the lot, was still cheaper than the bus for four and easier for all than trying to get DM off and on the bus! Plus we had all day after we got back so we went and wandered Downtown Disney and saw a movie there. That is where DH wandered into Starabilia and bought the autographed Jack Sparrow/Johnny Depp picture that he gave me for Christmas last year!

Have you ever had the steak at Flying Fish? :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

Remarkably, we've never eaten there. We say we are going to on every yearly trip, but for some reason have never made it there. Maybe it is because Spoodles is one of our favs, so we always end up there.

Maybe next trip.

Hello Christmas Sailors!

Just fropped by to say Howdy, and to remind Jen that the new Vince Flynn book, Act of Treason, will be out in early October. Are you gonna save it for cruise reading?

I know y'all will have a terrific cruise. Wish the Miller Family was still onboard!

This is me checking in so that I'm on this thread. We booked our cruise over a year ago, but just "closed the deal" yesterday. Our family has done a couple of Disney cruises, but only four days at a time. We can't wait! :woohoo:

We're long time DVC members since 1993. We'll be stopping at OKW for a couple of days before DRIVING back to Georgia after our trip!

Welcome aboard 3 pirates..how old are your 3 boys? I have 2 boys ages 12 and 10.

I am 3 sons! Nice that we both ended up over here where there is some activity! My boys are Patrick, 16, Brian, 14, and Kevin, 10. (At least they will be by cruise time!)

3pirates, where in Georgia are you from? We have several others with 10 year old boys so your youngest will definitely have some company!

We live in the suburbs outside of Atlanta. I was excited to see how many 10 year old boys there will be. My 16 and 14 year old can hang together, and he's happy to hang with them some, but he does like to find a few kids closer to his age!

Hey guys, now that I'm on I'm hoping some of you experienced folks have some ideas for us. We are looking into excursions (I know, we should have done it a week ago!) and two of the ones we were interested in must be full--they don't come up as available. Does anyone know if Disney wait lists these? Do I need to call?

Help! I know my way all around the parks, but am not sure how any of this cruise stuff is done! :confused3

Good afternoon everyone.

For those of you who have been on the X-mas Cruise in the past and have little ones, how do you manage the hmmmm "Santa" gifts. I started wrapping a few things I had acquired today and put them in a suitcase but it was nearly full already as one box was a bit on the larger side (DD likes pet shop)

So I had thought to pack one suitcase to take the presents but now I am thinking this is not going to work. What have you guys done in the past??

Thanks

Denise

:welcome: 3 Pirate/Sons :rotfl2:

Our DS Ryan 7 requested that we contact santa to let him know that we would be on the cruise. I told him that Santa already knew but he insisted. So Santa is devising a plan to have a few small gifts on the ship and place pictures of our tree (at home) with gifts from him in our room Christmas Morning. We will see how that works. Huh?! And I think we are going to try to ship a few things down to the ship.

Hello Cinderella and Tink!

And thanks for the Welcome, Fabulask! :flower3:

My ten year old pirate son told me what happens when you spend Christmas away. He got the very important information from a friend who has vacationed at Christmas before. According to him, Santa :santa: brings a stocking to where you are, then leaves your bigger gifts at home under the tree. Nothing wrong with two holidays! :thumbsup2 I guess according to some other posts he also might bring pictures of the tree full of gifts as evidence. Good luck!

Time for me to quit dreaming of the cruise :cloud9: and get back to reality :laundy: before my three pirate sons mutiny! So today it will be a tennis match, lacrosse practice and pool party! :drive:

:) They do usually have them available on the ship. Because you don't have to pay for them at time of booking, lot's of people who are not sure which ones they want or even sure if they are going to want that excursion ,book it till they can make up there minds, this way they feel that they wont loose out. When I called they said they get lot's of cancelations all the way up to the day of the excursion. As far as a wait list that I can't answer.

As for xmas presents...both my kids still believe in Santa(12year old not so sure, but I still play it up) I told them that Santa will come and leave a few small presents on the ship,so mom and dad don't have to lug them all the way home and take the chance of them getting broke on the plane. And the rest will be here when we get home the next day. We are also bringing sting lights to string up in out room with safe pull away tape as to not hurt the walls. I checked with DCL and they said that that was fine.
