Judy,

where in Texas are you from? The state is so little, we were probably neighbors.

And what kind of dog is giving up that much hair? Golden?

Stacey, his thyroid is dead, we've known that since last year. But adrenaline and other levels are also VERY low. They did blood work and it indicated the pituitary has a problem so next week he goes in for an MRI. Right now they are thinking they can treat it with medicine but won't know for sure until he gets the MRI. He is seeing an endocrinologist for this since his gp wasn't sure after the thyroid levels bottomed out several months ago (he had been on medication since last summer and was doing fine when everything dropped all of a sudden). So we shall see. It's just when anyone says a tumor may be involved I tend to freak. His father and grandfather died of cancer so....

Kat --if you want to run anything by Dale let me know --he deals with Pit. tumors. Hates having to do them but does.

Willie--(hey you are back to Willie, I thought maybe we were making it simpler for me) I grew up in El Paso, went to college at West Texas State in the panhandle which is now a Texas A & M school, moved to Fort Worth lived there for several years and then moved to Michigan. I take my yearly homage to the homeland to New Braunfels-SAT area. Gotta get my mexican food yearly quota. The mexican food in Florida is awful. I miss how nice and friendly everyone is.

My very hairy dog is a bearded collie. Who by the way headed out after school to play in the mud.

Where is everybody?? I am bored out of my mind. DH is on call for every single daggone hospital in town this week. Means leaving the house before 5am and getting home around 10pm. I haven't had an adult conversation in atleast 48 hours. Help is needed from my DIS buddies. Hurry!!!!!!!I am going to start talking like the kids.

Hey Judy, sounds like a bummer. DH used to be a cop so I know how that feels. I hated it.

What kind of doc is Dale? Dave won't know much more about what is going on until after the MRI which is next Thursday. I hate waiting.

Otorhinolaryngology/Facial Plastics --(ENT) mostly sinus, tonsils, tubes, thyroids, neck dissections, somnoplasty, allergy, trauma type stuff not elective plastic surgery. Down here he does alot of skin cancer removal and reconstruction, scar revision...Tonight he seems to be doing whatever they can remotely relate to ENT. He is in the OR with an orbital abcess for the next few hours. Then on to 5 more consults.

Stacey - where in Arizona are you? I was born in Tucson and grew up mostly in Tucson and Phoenix.

Cave Creek is a small western tourist town north of Scottsdale, which is just north of Phoenix. We're about 16 miles north of Phoenix's northernmost border.
More people have heard of our neighboring city, Carefree. That's where the Boulders Resort is, and a Golden Door Spa. And they have Desert Mountain, home of the Tradition golf tournament.
We just have a lot of cowboy bars and stores that sell scorpions in paperweights.

Scorpions in paperweights! We got one for our older son for a souvenir on our trip down last year (we were at the airport and were getting desparate to find something). He loves it! :thumbsup2

We know exactly where Cave Creek is. DH grew up in the Scottsdale area. He was the photography manager at Candid Wedding in Scottsdale 20+ years ago, and photographed about 1000 weddings in the area so he knows where everything is, especially all the resorts.

We like to go down to visit old friends when we can, and when we get homesick. On our last trip we stayed at Wyndham Buttes resort in Tempe. Next trip, Stacey's guest house!! ;)

Time for left-coasters to hit the sack. Good night cruisers!

Good Morning. Wow, we had the worst wind storm we have had in years. It was horrible. Trees down over main highways, trees down at our house, tree missed our rental by about 3 feet. It was been crazy. Then no power for 16 hours and below freezing in low teens and single digits. So you guest it frozen pipes in the rental. Sometimes I ask myself why we have them. LOL Anyway the power is back on -- was just catching up on all the chit chat.

And wanted to say good morning.

AGAIN THIS IS NOT RIGHT 3 - 4 IN A ROW :sunny:

Bummer fabulusk, where are you? can't remember. The winds were strong yesterday, the mini van was all over the interstate going up to Pa. I swear I could have put the car in neutral and we would have gone sixty with the wind pushing us.

Sue

Fabulusk, it stinks about the frozen pipes. Did they burst on you? I know what you mean about crazy weather yesterday. We went from 55 in the morning, then wind gusts that made the pine trees that surround my house do that little (well big) dance that always makes me so nervous, then sideways rain that was hitting the house so loud the kids insisted it was thunder and wouldn't nap. It rained for about 10 min, sun came out and dropped down to 30. All the kids were coming off the bus in tee shirts freezing the canookies off.

We are going skiing tomorrow for a week. Well, we are heading up there, don't know how much skiing we'll get in. I looked at the conditions and they are not even grooming and that can only mean that it hasn't been cold enough to make snow, so there isn't enough of it to groom  . BUT, I am going to N. Conway, which is the outlet store capital of New England. Just pitcure, miles and miles of nothing but outlet stores. CHAAAARRRGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah yes, North Conway! Mary Ann, I used to live in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire so I know N Conway well. Heck, I grew up in western Massachusetts so I know a lot of that area. Don't miss the cold or snow at all, though! Still get some of that here. It was 60 here on Thursday. Yesterday morning on my way to work they were saying that at 8pm Thursday it was 59 degrees and by almost 8am yesterday it had dropped to about 20 degrees!!! And it is supposed to be cold all weekend. Yuck.

Hi guys,
Ok I'm late piping in but OMG could you guys believe that immunity challenge. BRUTAL! Paul and I were dying of laughter.

It rained!!It actually rained :cool1: :cool1: Time to reset the counter. Two years ago was the best in a while...265 days with out rain. Heck Stacey gets more than that and she's the one in the dessert. Have fun with your folks Stacey.

Lots of fun to be had here today. Slay the clothes monster :scared: ,gymnastics, shop and get ready for a dinner party tonight. Trying out another recipe from my class on my unsuspecting guests. Gotta get Kiras hair cut. The kid looks like a hippy. AND WORK ON FINISHING THE FIREPLACE. Home Depot paint sale... :scratchin :scratchin  oh honey....

Hey Garry I haven't forgotten.

Yes Bubbles I will send you my info. I love that picture of Jimmy on the beach.
Give him a kiss for me.
Off to the fun for the day

TTFN -D

Morning all.... :coffee:

Yeah, we are having huge winds and below freezing here in Oregon with wind chills down to zero. I wanna go home to AZ! I always feel like that this time of year but in July I'm glad I'm here. Maybe we will be snowbirds when we retire - Stacey keep that apartment open! Well, we still have 20 years before then so never mind.
