12/15/07 DCL Pre-Christmas Western

Thank you Sharon. I'll post some one year photos sometime soon. I cannot believe how fast he is growing!!

Where is everyone? Happy late birthday to John!!

Guess what I found last week..... a chocolate bar courtesy of Susan. :) I enjoyed it. :)

How is everyone doing? Brad is going back to the dr today. His cough came back. I thought I was well (at least for the past week or so), today my throat is a little scratchy and I have a little cough. :(

The kids are doing okay. I think they are ready for spring break. Too bad I can't take off so we can do something. :( I will have Thurs and Friday off that week so at least we can hit the movies or something.
Here is a picture for today from Castaway Cay

Warning – This is really photo intensive. I tried to cut down the pictures to my favorites. But there are just too many I love and I’m even skipping a lot of good ones too.

Love the pictures Melissa!!! I really love the one of you looking out the window with the reflection of the outside, also the one of the flowers and rings and you guys in the background. They are all great! Thanks for sharing!

Oh Meli...how beautiful. Thank you for sharing your wedding memories with us.

Hey, where is everyone? Does everyone but me have another cruise planned and are busy chatting with their new friends?

My folks are going to take the kids on vacation this summer along with my nephew. They have a time share and have a week that they needed to use by the end of the summer. It turns out they will be in Orlando. It will be somewhat of a more budget trip for them this time. My kids said that they would actually rather try out Universal if they can't do both. I am not sure what they will decided. My nephew has only been to Disney once so they may end up doing that. Brad and I are going to go somewhere while they are gone too. Probably not for the week, but for a few days. We were thinking about Corpus Christi. Has anyone been there?

hello everyone. I guess I have been MIA. Awesome pictures Melissa.

I've been to Corpus Christi several times. I really never toured, My brother lives in Texas & I fly in there & then we spend the day shopping. :lmao: Padra Island is near there. There is an old navy ship that is now a tour ship. My brother wanted to take me on it, at the time I was using a cane & wasn't able to do it. It is a HUGE city.

Well Beth & Sharon Samantha moved to Florida(near Tampa) March 15th, I cried for the first week. They came to visit me every other week-end. I miss them. Now I have to find money to go visit them.

Planning to go to Florida in May with a friend, she has a Condo. We aren't planning on doing any parks. Maybe Beth & Sharon can come over for one day & visit.

Hope every one had a great Easter

Hi everyone. We just returned from a trip to Disney. We bought annual passes this year, so we'll be going frequently. John had his first hair cut on Main Street USA. I'll post some pictures later. Dave and Rachel have gone on their y-princess camping trip and we're about to head to my parents' home to pick up our dog who has been there since Easter. I'm sure she thinks we've abandoned her.

Hope everyone is well. Be back next week.
Susan

Sharon thanks for the info about Corpus Christi. How are you doing with Beth & Sharon Samantha being gone? Hang in there.

Anything exciting on the forefront for anyone? This weekend is just haircuts today and tomorrow ROCKIES game. :cool1: Can't wait for that!

Susan - How about those KU Jayhawks? Actually I was kind of hoping that NC would win. I'm a K-Stater and my blood runs purple, and a true K-stater has trouble rooting for KU. But KU is located only about 30 minutes from our house.

Glad you got home safely from Florida.

Patty

Hey all!

I'm still around, I just got done serving my sentence as Girl Scout Cookie cupboard. I swear next year I'm not doing it again, but I said that last year too.

Andy took his first steps last night. We're happy about it but sad too, our baby is going to be a toddler. He has a fever and runny nose (we had activity day last Friday) I have no idea if the other kids are just germ factories or if the church isn't clean, all I can say is I'm glad that we only go one more time.

Susan I felt for you when your Tarheels lost. Our other cruising pals are Jayhawks 110%, so it's exciting for them.

Crisit--I can't beleive you're talking baseball. We've had two or three spring days, otherwise it's still way too cold for baseball. The Iowa Cubs (Chicago's farm team) was supposed to open in Des Moines Thusday, they got rained out.

Sharon--I'm sorry that Beth and Samantha moved, hope you're doing ok.

We are finalizing our trip for November. We're staying off site in a townhome. I swore I'd never stay off site but, it is a 3 bedroom/3 bath in a gated development super close to the parks. It cost us less than 1/2 that 3 hotel rooms would have (my parents are coming with us). We're flying down on a Tuesday and doing the parks W-Th-Fri. There is a MVMCP on Thursday night that I think we'll go to. You're all welcome to join us (it's the week before Thanksgiving).

Hi everyone. Thank you for the condolences. I could not believe the KU-UNC game. They obviously wanted it more than we did. It was a sad night though. I wanted to get John a championship T-shirt. Maybe next year...

I understand about K-staters not pulling for KU. UNC is 8 miles from Duke University. I will never, ever pull for Duke.

John still hasn't taken his first steps. Part of me is ready b/c he's getting heavy, but I still want my baby. He looks grown up with his new hair cut. Poor thing has been sick pretty much since Easter though. He had the flu and an ear infection. Today I took him in to re-check his ears, and he has croup.

We're going back to Disney in September. Our cousins are going with us and they have a 7 year old son. I'm hoping he'll encourage Rachel to ride some more adventuresome rides. She did do barnstormer this time and wasn't terrified.

As soon as I get the pictures on the computer and photobucket, I'll post them.

Happy Spring everyone.

Oh, today is Rachel's 8th birthday. John and I took iced cookies to the class at lunch.

Happy Birthday Rachel

Susan the big KU fanatics around here (KU has some of the most obnoxious fans) are still mad and bitter about Roy Williams for leaving KU to go to UNC - my feelings, get over it - coaches move on all the time. My boss and I are both big K-Staters and we were hoping UNC would win and we were rooting for Memphis last night. At home, I had to pretend that I was rooting for KU, Mike having not gone to either school doesn't understand how I could not be for KU.

Hope John gets to feeling better.

Stacie - I'm with you on this weather. Tody is supposed to be the Royals home opener. It rained hard all morning, though it has stopped for now, they are talking about a wind chill facter during the game and possibly snow flurries on Friday. We've had a few nice days but I'm ready for it to turn nice and stay nice. We're taking my Brownies camping next weekend, April 18-20 so I'm praying, and crossing my fingers that is is nice that weekend.

Stacie, I was kind of cold at the Rockies game last weekend. It was a beautiful day, but only around 50 or 55 and our seats were in the shade (and it got windy too). Oh well, it was still fun and we had hot chocolate while we were there. :)

I didn't watch any of the basketball playoffs. One of the girls I work with is from Kansas and a KU fan so she is really happy (someone else I work with went to Memphis State so she isn't so happy).

Patty, we are going camping with girl scouts next weekend too. It is our unit camping trip with about 88 people there. It is up in the mountains so I am expecting it to still be cold. It is at the new facilities though so I am looking forward to that.

HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY RACHEL!!!

I'm finally uploading John's first hair cut pictures to photobucket. I'll have to edit them. Check back later for the pictures!!

He took his first real unassisted steps yesterday. Of course, today he's crawling again like he never did it. I'm not in a huge hurry for walking, but it will be easier to get him outside if he's really walking.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the Spring time weather.

That didn't take as long as I thought. Here they are...

great pictures Susan! They are both sure growing up fast.

Our spring weather yesterday included a few inches of snow and really icky driving home conditions. This is the day after we had an 80 degree day. :)

Good picture Susan.

Christi - ready for the big GS campout this weekend. Laura has been excited the past couple of weeks wanting to know when we are going on our camp out.

We have a total of around 50 people going including around 17 adults. It's a social event for us mom's.

Tomorrow may be a little chilly with an overnight low around 45, but the forcast for the rest of the weekend looks good. I was hoping to load up all the gear tonight but its raining so will have to get it done tomorrow afternoon before school gets out.

Patty, we leave tomorrow afternoon for our unit camp. We have something like 68 girls and 17 or 18 adults. It will be fun, but exhausting. I get along well with most of the adults going up, but a couple of them get on my nerves. Luckily, they aren't in my cabin (being in charge comes in handy sometimes :))

I just looked up the forecast for the closest town, which is about 20 miles away and it said mid to upper 60's for Saturday and lows around 35 or so. It is supposed to be reallly windy though. I have to remember the sunscreen.

Have fun on your trip!!

Hey all!

Susan--great pictures of John, looks like the first haircut was lots of fun. Andy still is walking on his own a whole lot. He'll stand up in the middle of the room, then squat back down, then stand up and take a couple steps, then crawl to where he wants to go. He's been outside a few times in the wagon he got for Christmas but he wants out to explore.

Christi and Patty--Have fun camping this weekend. Glad the weather is going to be good for you guys. We have a spring campout coming up too. I haven't been in on the planning though. They changed the service unit meetings this year to a different night and it seems like we always have something else going on.
