12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

Hi All,

I'm taking a break from the MK, I needed to come back to the hotel to get out id's for the extended hours for tonight.

My feet feel like hamburger meat, I can't wait until the cruise :cool1:

Friday we head up to Port Canaveral and we have a 10:30 shuttle for Saturday, I can't wait.

I hope everyone is having fun :)

Tammie, I sent them out to the entire cruise list last night. You might want to check your spam/junk folder if you don't see it. I am pretty sure that you guys are on the group email list.

Well, I have packed my main bag & the kid's along with one carry on & one with lots of misc stuff in it. :) I have also boxed up the food for our WDW stay & the snacks for the kids on the rides to FL & home. I need to tackle the shoes next. I have all of DD's downstairs but only my pirate boots & DS's sandals. The dining room is getting cleared out & I can see alot of carpet...so I am getting there! :)

I just resent them to you, Tammie, just to make sure! Off to pick up the kids...then the van so that I can start packing that up!!! :) They had to replace the front brakes...metal on metal :(...and take care of a recall thing that was affecting the air bag light & knocked cruise control off. Hope they got it all fixed!

Why is it that as soon as Jordan is gone, all the talk turns to evening gowns and hair ribbon again???? :rotfl:

Don't hve that fatback problem though - Amy says that I don't have one of those at all - now the fat front is another issue . . .

Boy, do I know that feet like hamburger feeling too!

Just a few more hours today, and tomorrow morning. Then some errands and we're OUTTA HERE on Friday!

I think we may even make 3000 tonight!

John

The car is running great!!!! :) I just loaded what is packed up in the back. :) :) :) DH's bag is packed but not zipped so I am going to let him finish with that one & put it out there tonight. I finially feel like I am making progress! Of course, forget about dinner tonight. Maybe spaghetti...but we had ravioli last night so I don't think that would fly. ;)

Hey all. We are trying to finish up packing. We want to be finished tonight so that tomorrow will be a relaxing day before we leave on Friday.

Its getting excited. I see several people have already started their vacation....jealous! I had to sit through continuing ed classes the last couple days....boring!

I am so ready for that ship. Bring it on!

It is soooooo cold here that it takes your breath away. :cold: Today it was in the 'teens, and I thought I was going to freeze. This winter has been strange - we didn't get any chance to get used to cold - we went from a fairly warm fall straight into the freezer. No time to let the old blood thicken.

Boy, are we looking forward to some warmer weather!

Bad thing is, they are calling for a winter storm warning for tomorrow night and Friday morning. Keep your fingers crossed for us that we don't get snowed in. After all I've worried about getting to this vacation, snow was not one of the things that I was worried about . . . .

Let's get this thing to 3000!

John

OK, everyone. We need all the prayers & pixie dust that you can send us so that we can go on this cruise. DD came home from school just fine & we picked up the car. Around 5 pm she started crying that her tummy hurt & was in the bathroom for a bit. After cleaning her up in the tub & cleaning the bathroom, she wanted to go to bed...at 5:30. She fell asleep pretty quickly & when I checked on her while DH was packing in our room I thought that it smelled pretty badly. She had gotten sick while she was sleeping & just rolled over. :( She is cleaned up again & propped up on the couch which is covered in towels. Darn! She just got sick again. :( Apparently there is a 24 hour bug going around. I pray that is all it is....AND that DS doesn't get it.

So close, and yet so far . . . Only 70 more posts needed!

We did more than that in a few hours before!

Lisa,

If this is the same thing that went around here - we ALL got it in varying degrees. The good thing was that it lasted only 24 hours. The bad thing was that it was miserable.

Sophia had it first - threw up every hour for about 8 hours, and had the runs too. Amy then got it, Alex then got it, and I got it. With all of us, it only lasted a day, but it took a few days to go through the whole family. I had the mildest case - no throwing up for me. All of us had a fever too. Doctor said just wait it out, and you'll be fine. This was about three weeks ago.

I pray that is all she has, or something less. Make sure everyone washes hands constantly . . .

Also - Sophia's started the same way - tummy ache. I thought it was just what she ate, and then suddenly she was projectile vomitting.

This happened the same night we had to leave to go to the Jim Brickman Concert.

John

PD and prayers for your DD, lisa. I hope she feels better by tomorrow!

Thanks for the email - I just haven't seen it. Just don't worry - I will bring my "Mickey Ear" things, and Vanessa said she has some stickers and stuff. We will be fine! I will try to write more later and make sure we get to 3000!!!

Well, it sounds like DD will be able to get on the ship just fine Saturday. It's the rest of us that I am worried about. I am feeling ill right now but it is probably more of the stress of packing & now this for the past 4 hours. I haven't eaten since around 11:30 either. It is going to take us around 7 hours of driving tomorrow to get to the first hotel. Friday we can just take it easy at the Radisson after 4 hours on the road.

She still doesn't have a fever...so maybe that is good? Did anything help you guys feel better? She hasn't eaten or had anything to drink since 3:30 or so. I am thinking that is why the past 2 times haven't produced very much.

Lisa,

Nothing made us feel better until the throwing up stopped. Then just make sure you have some ginger ale or Sprite. After that, some applesauce. Sophia also alternated between the shivers and being hot due to the fever.

Can't tell you if it is good or bad that the fever isn't there . . .

I thought I had escaped it because I was out of town right after it started - then I had to drive home from Columbus - 2.5 hours with a 101 fever!

John

PS - We REALLY need you guys - Sophia said she will NOT go to the kid's clubs without her friends Kaitlyn and William! :grouphug:

You're telling me!!! I just got back from a week at WDW. Talk about thin blood. Yikes.

Hope everyone is feeling well by departure day. Bon Voyage to you and your family, John (and to all the other fortunate people on the 12/10 cruise). Have a great time. Don't forget the sunscreen. And thanks for all your help with NEOUCOM.

BTW - James just made Eagle Scout yesterday. I wonder if it is too late to book a celebratory cruise for this weekend. Hmmmm.

I guess my early night to sleep is off now. I have set DD up on the couch downstairs & that is where she will stay tonight. I will sleep in the recliner. It will be easier to run the carpet cleaner in the morning than have to deal with her bedding & the tons of stuffed animals on & around her bed. I have vacumed the dining & living rooms so that is making progress! :) I hate to come home to a messy house. It gets bad enough after we unload the car.

Hey John,

Come on along - you know you are always welcome - they upgraded us from Cat 8 to Cat 4 - maybe you could be a stow-away. Try explaining that to Sue!

Any news yet on NEOUCOM?

Tell James Congratulations on the Eagle - that is rare territory, and a lot of hard work!

John
