12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

I have DD and my dinner wear all planned out and put to the side to be packed. I haven't actually pulled the clothes for the boys yet, but theirs is easier. As far as the rest I don't actually plan each day out, but I do get the shorts together and then pick out which shirts match. I try to bring two shirts that will work for each pair of shorts and then have less shorts to bring.

Lisa, I watched the MD/NCS game too. It was a fun one to watch. :cheer2:

I plan what we will wear each day also to cut down on the amount of stuff we take. I way over packed the first cruise.

??? MD??? We were watching the VA Tech/ NC game. They are the tarheels, so I don't think that they are State. They wear the light blue & white. I think state is red & white?

Has anyone else put their tree up? The living room & dining room are pretty much done & DH put the empty boxes back up in the loft this morning. I really wanted to just leave the lights on, then just put on the glass balls but the kids wouldn't hear of it. I have one box ready to be mailed out. I now have three more boxes of gifts to send out & that will be done! :)

LOL! Is that all? I plan out the dinner outfits for each night so that we will coordinate somewhat...or at least not look too bad together. :) The kid's outfits are put into ziplocks and I do match up some of them too...there are pictures during the day you know and I am always taking pictures anyhow. I like being able to count out the bags & know how many outfits I have packed for each kid. They can stand up in the suitcase & are so easy to pack too! :) It makes it easier for us to all unpack in the room as well. Another benefit for our first two cruises was that DH just had to pick a bag out of the drawer for DD. If I had the clothes loose the two of them would have left her with nothing that coordinated midway thru the cruise. ;) Now I have DD's fashion opinions to contend with. She can open & close bags. IDK if it will work quite as well this time.
My cousin may use that method. It may save her some time.

my tree is up, I am all decorated and all of my gifts are wrappped......but I haven't packed a thing and I leave Friday!!!! To add more stress, I am having my son's birthday party Thursday at chuckie cheese with 25 kids!!!! yikes!

My tree is up and most of the inside of the house is decorated. The lights are up outside. I am almost done with my shopping, but nothing is wrapped yet. My Christmas letter is ready to print. My 4 Christmas calendars that I make for grandmas/greatgrandmas have all been uploaded to Kinko's and I can pick them up on Wed (actually they will be ready tomorrow, but I work Mon and Tues so I will get them on Wed and get them mailed off).

I printed off a packing list this morning so I will start actually packing up toiletries and things like that.

Donna, good luck with the b'day party. I used to work at Chuck E. Cheese's when I was in high school and college (5 + years). :scared1:

Oh, I didn't even think about outside. DH took care of all that while I did the inside. The rest of the wrapping will have to wait until one morning this week. ;) I wrapped up the big box of gifts to ship out so now I just have to get two small things ready to send out with those. Well, I have to buy something for my ILs first...I am trying to find a deal online so that I can just have it sent to them though. :)

DH did our outdoor lights too, with DD help. All I did outside is put up the wooden Santa and Mrs. Claus that we made.

The NC State game was earlier in the day. It was a fun game.

Haven't started decorating, only 5 gifts bought. :confused3 I guess we will be out on Christmas Eve shopping in the madness.

We have all the outside lights up. We stll need to put up our tree. I need to wrap gifts & finish shopping for gifts.
Thurs.the 8th I have my first Christmas Party to go to The day before flying out. I have a Christmas Party in the afternoon on the day we fly out our plane doesn't leave until 4:30. I will have to wait & see if I'll have any time to go to that one it starts at 11:oo am I could stop in for a few then go p/u DD from school. We'll see :confused3
That last week before will be crunch week. :rotfl:

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. It is raining here :umbrella: yeck! Then tomorrow it is suppose to snow! My DD is looking forward to the snow. She loves it .
See you all soon. Diana :wave2:

For those that have been in December, do you think it will be warm enough for tank tops during the day once we get out to sea? I was packing mostly tank tops for DD and myself since that is usually what we wear during the summer.

Cristi, we wore shorts & tops or swim suits all the time on our 7 day last December. I'm bringing a couple pairs of jeans just in case, but I doubt that I will need them. It was in the 80s most of the trip. :)

Thanks Lisa. That is what I am thinking I will do too. We will be wearing jeans on the airplane and maybe I will pack one other pair too. I can always do laundry if I need too.

Definately tank top warm once you leave port. CC was a bit windy and a bit chilly last Dec, but it was very late in Dec when we were there. (Dec 27) DH and I still sat on a lounge chair and had a Konk Kooler. Early Dec it should not be so chilly. At least that has been our experience on 3 early Dec cruises.

What we wear the day of sail away will depend on the weather in PC. Last year it was nice and we boarded in jeans & tshirts but it was chilly up on deck 9 with the wind. We had to wait for our bags to arrive to get jackets out. This year I am putting our jean jackets in a carry on.

I read over a report about the new stingray excursion at CC. Is anyone else thinking about doing this? DS has said that he wants to but I decided to skip it based on reviews about kid's reactions at GC. The pictures posted in the report show that it is really shallow at this one. I might sign up DS & myself for this one. We could always wait until next year when we go to CC twice but....

I had some catching up to do today here - Amy had to work today, so between last night and today, we got all the decorating done. Inside and out. Four trees up inside the house, outside lights and decorations, and all the inside stuff.

I am whipped, and going to bed now after catching up here. And, oh yeah, the Browns lost again.

John

Wow - go away for a little while and massive posts!!

The game was awesome! There is nothing like the Swamp....and Shelley - I have a few pics to post that you will appreciate! We had such a fun time and it was nice to sit without the girls through a game!

I managed to stay up til after Grey's Anatomy last night and got some more decorations put up, laundry done and didn't get any more packing done. We don't have a tree yet but hopefully this weekend we will get one. Well pretty much this weekend is it - if we don't get it, we won't be getting one until we get back!

I can't believe we are this close!

Lisa - I wanted to do the stingray excursion...I would be alone though as I don't think John is too fond of them!

Quite honestly, we have done this from time to time on Siesta. There are a few times a year when they just swarm the water very close to the edge, of course these have all their "parts" and we have to do the stingray shuffle to avoid being stung, but it is pretty neat!
