12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

Hi all!
Shelley - yes we are going to Gainesville, not sure if we will leave tonight or tomorrow.

I managed to not give in yesterday, I had nothing but meat! So I did very well. We left the girls at my mom's...we stayed an extra night and then we would be leaving them there while we go to the game so we thought we would just let them spend the night tonight. It is very very hard for me, I am such a worrier....

We had lots of fun though, my sister wasn't there so I kind of missed her. We played lots of games and quite a few friends stopped by.

I can't believe our trip is almost upon us!

good morning to all. I was sure everyone would be shopping. Just don't have the stomach or fortitude to do the whole day after Thanksgiving Madness. I called one of my friends and she had already been to 5 stores.........by 9am. That's insane. But I understand why folks do it.

Forecasts says cooler weather this week. In the 60's even low 60's. I may have to break out my parka...... ;)

Ducks play the Red Wings today. Could be ugly, very ugly.

Soda is free at the drink station on deck 9 & with meals in the dining rooms for lunch & dinner. You only pay for soda if you order it from room service or at a bar.

We have been done with Christmas shopping for a long time. :) On BF we buy for US. :) :)

Oh the Ducks actually beat the Red Wings, the 1st place team. I'll take that. Wendy, her DH and I are going to the Ducks vs. Blackhawks game on Sunday.

Yikes.. I woke up today with a cold!! I have 5 days to get better!! I stayed home from work today, and slept half the day away, so no Black Friday for me :guilty:

So has anyone called or heard what movies might be playing when we are on board?

Nada! I told you, not before 12/1 I'm sure. There must be a zone here in NC where they hold our mail or something. I remember last year when the UPS guy came buy. I saw the box & knew just what it was. Of course, I couldn't hold in the excitement & he laughed & said that he understood because he was going the following week & got his docs the week before.

So I worked yesterday, got up at 4 am this morning and now I need to work for about 10 hours today. I'm going to be beat by the time I get to start my vacation :)

Wow, you are crazy!! 4am!! So were you shopping at 4am?? I thought I was crazy to get up early to hit the Nordstrom's half yearly sale (opened at 7am) but you have me beat by a mile. Yowza.

Or are you just getting yourself acclimated to east coast time? Ha.

Today was INSANE! Never again do I go out on BF, esp to Best Buy. I pulled in the parking lot at 5:03 am. I figured I could get there when they open at 5 pick up my stuff and be to work by 7 with time to spare. NOT...... I waited in line there for 3 1/2 hours! I did get my laptop, case and more memory for the camera, but never again will I go there on BF. Then I had to go to work (2 hours late) and we were completely swamped. I'm exhausted......

BB is the place to go a couple hours before they open. They give out vouchers. Glad that you ended up with a laptop getting there that late. :)

OK guys, I asked DH if he minded if we had a wine & cheese meet in the stateroom. He claims that if I don't over pack & there is enough room for people then it is ok. ;) I'm going to look over the navigators from the last eastern & see which sea day might work for us. :)

Cristi,

I feel your pain . . . I decided to go to circuit city - because it is not as popular around here as BB. As I wrote above, I was wrong on that one! Had I found what I wanted, I bet I would have been in line for hours too!

I ended up doing some shopping on line, and got a deal on a card for the camera, that while not as good, was still OK. Online shopping is my idea of an acceptable BF experience.

BTW - Don't like the new plastic doc holder. Putting my doc's in it, I already ripped it up the side, and it is just a useless piece of clear plastic now with the DCL logo on it. :confused3

I didn't know about the vouchers until I was in line. I am glad that I was able to get my laptop. Even with the vouchers though you still have to wait in line for 3 1/2 hours. The guy in front of me had gotten a voucher (he was there at 11:30 pm) and he had to wait just as long.

Wine and cheese in Lisa's room...... I'll be there. :goodvibes

John, I think that next year that is the way to go.

That is great John! I looked up online when I saw your post & it wasn't available. We don't have a CC in town or I would have sent DH out to get one. Online is the best way to go! :) I like going thru ebates so that I get some money back on what I buy too.

Lisa,

Didn't get the card at CC - got it at clubmac.com . . . even though they sell a lot of Mac stuff, the cards are not computer specific. I got a 1GB CF card for $49.99, with a $10 rebate, making it $39.99. The one at CC was a 512mb CF card, which after rebates would have been $9.99. That was only available in store though.

Good morning! I am 3 pages behind! I did not do BF shopping this year. Spent yesterday "undoing" Thanksgiving. Had to put all the dishes, tables, chairs, etc away. All is back to normal now. I have one Aunt and Uncle still in town (from Arkansas). We will have breakfast with them then they will head out to the airport. One more Thanksgiving done here. Now I can start packing and Christmas shopping!

DH and I both have off next Fri, Sat and Sun and I also am not working Monday so that will give us 3 full days to get prepared to leave. We are going to stay Monday night at the Holiday Inn at the Portland airport then fly to Orlando Tuesday. Four more days of work!! :teeth: :Pinkbounc
