12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

Our electricity went out around 2 am. DH uses a CPAP machine to keep him breathing so he of course woke up. Had to go find the battery pack that he can use to keep it going. Funny, I thought about the electricity going off on Wed before Thanksgiving, wondering how I would finish up dinner if that happened. Many, Many Thanksgivings done here and I have never thought of that before. I have had worries before about a snow/ice storm coming while they are all here and having all those people stuck at my house and not able to get down the mountain!

Just two more sailings before ours!! Yippie!! I am off to Macy's today to see what the Black Friday Shoppers left for us slackers who don't get up for the sales. I have my formal and semi-formal from last year, but never know what good deals you can find!

I am going to the bank to get Traveler's Checks. Then my roommate and I are going shopping. I am only shopping for some stuff for the cruise.

My other roommate is a sr. mgr at Circuit City and worked 18 hours yesterday. He wasn't making much sense last night when I was talking to him. He was delirious. He's only working 12 today.

I've got an after BF story for you. I was still looking for some more flash memory for my camera, and went to circuitcity.com to see if they had any new deals. Lo and behold, the deal that I wanted on BF was posted on the web site - 512mb CF card for $9.99 after rebate. And guess what? Available for pickup at my local store.

I ordered 2 for pickup at the store figuring I could send one of the rebates to my parent's house in case there was only one per address, and I did it in 2 transactions. The phone rang 5 minutes later - it was CC telling me the online store was in error, that they don't really have any in stock at my store.

Well, they have a new program - if you order it online, and it is not ready for pickup in 24 minutes, you get a $24 gift card. The lady offered to have them shipped to me, and I said OK, but how about the guarantee and $24 card? She had to get a manager, who finally said, OK, but I had to go in. I read their rules carefully, and took a printout in with me that said $24 for EACH transaction not ready. To make this long story short, I had to argue just a little, but I got two $24 gift cards! And, they are shipping me the two CF cards I ordered.

BTW - their website still later today shows that they are available at the Canton Store. If any of you lived close by, I would tell you to do what I did to get free gift cards.

Angie - I use a Cpap too, and have often wondered what I would do if the power went out at bedtime. I can't sleep without it! I just got a new one that is much smaller, and will have to look into battery backup.

YEAH JOHN!!! Now that sounds like my kind of shopping trip! I read on the boards that some stores received shipments after noon yesterday so that may have accounted for them being back up on the website as available. If they don't fix the error, they only have themselves to blame.

John, the battery back up he uses is one of those that you can use to jump your car battery. They are about $30. We take a couple of them with us when we tent camp and they will last as a power source for at least 5 nights. Also come in handy when the power is out.

I'm watching the FL/FL State game and I'm thinking Vanessa and Shelley are feeling pretty good this afternoon.

Well, our game isn't until tonight so for now we are watching the video from our last cruise 12/4/04. DH got a DVD recorder yesterday so he has been using it today. Now we need to find someone who needs the Dazzler program that he bought at Best Buy a few months ago since we don't need it anymore.

Goodness! I am tired tonight but this game is just too good to stop watching. I know NC isn't a great team BUT it's still fun watching. NC keeps fouling too.

Hey, has anyone here ever actually watched the nightly shows on the TV on the ship? I know that people have said that it runs every hour but I have never been able to find the channel.

I've watched Disney Dreams in my stateroom, but not the whole thing. It kind of loses some of it's magic when translated to the small screen. Still mighty convenient.

Okay, does anyone else kind of plan what they are wearing each day? After travelling alot for work and going to WDW/DCL many times, I was sick of overpacking and lugging unnecessary clothing around. As a result, I try and loosely figure out what I am wearing each day......Anal retentive? Maybe.

It's 1:35am PST. I am starting to get tired...

LOL! Is that all? I plan out the dinner outfits for each night so that we will coordinate somewhat...or at least not look too bad together. The kid's outfits are put into ziplocks and I do match up some of them too...there are pictures during the day you know and I am always taking pictures anyhow. I like being able to count out the bags & know how many outfits I have packed for each kid. They can stand up in the suitcase & are so easy to pack too! It makes it easier for us to all unpack in the room as well. Another benefit for our first two cruises was that DH just had to pick a bag out of the drawer for DD. If I had the clothes loose the two of them would have left her with nothing that coordinated midway thru the cruise. Now I have DD's fashion opinions to contend with. She can open & close bags. IDK if it will work quite as well this time.
