12/09/06 Geeks.... Lost, but not forgotten

YOUCH!!!! For that price the thing should take the picture for you and print it out. ;)

Hi everyone! John, I'm glad to see news is good about your brother!

Is that the 28-135 IS lens that comes standard with the 40D? I am so drooling over the 40D. I want to buy it like NOW! My website has been live for a couple weeks now and I got my business license and resellers license and I have been doing shoots practically every weekend to build my portfolio. Here's the site: www.studio-je.com and my blog with recent shots: http://blog.studio-je.com

Joy, I don't know whether to thank you or not . . .

I got a coupon from Best Buy email - 12% off one digital camera or lens, and 10% off an accessory . . . I was just going to return the lens and save another $60 . . . then, I was thinking, I could get $108 off the new xsi, and get the new lens too . . . then when I saw the 40D came with that lens, and I could get $180 off the pair, well . . . my resistance just dropped . . .

So now I have a new D40 with the lens I wanted . . .

Anyone interested in a very well taken care of Digital Rebel XT? :rotfl:

John, you are so bad, lol. You went bigger and I went smaller for our camera this trip, he he he.

Pj

Congrats on the new toy, John! Uh oh... do you need a different camera bag now?!

Really, the camera bag started it . . .

When I went to get a new topload bag (because my camera would not fit with the new lens) the guy put the lens on an xsi at the shop, and I started drooling. So I actually got the bag FIRST - LOL! :rotfl:

I am searching for a good deal on the 40D... I think I only want the body for now, but I guess I could get the kit and sell the lens... I am looking for Dell coupons since I already have an account there and can finance it without tapping any other credit cards.

<sigh>

You'll need at least a $6mill crumpler, if not $7mill....

Thanks marielle! We will try to post often. Have a wonderful mothers day.

Everyone says hello and we wish you were with us!

:scared1: It's cold here in Baltimore! I just turned the heat on in the house. :confused3

It's cold here in the Philly 'burbs, too! And it's even colder when the power is off all day (just got it back at 8pm). A little too much excitement when the wind starts taking down power lines in the neighborhood... the kids had just left on the bus this morning when the moms starting hearing popping noises... look up and see the fire/sparks on the power lines behind the house 3 doors down! Then a big tree cracks, and almost lands on another set of wires. Lots of excitement, but it's nice to have power again.

I was thinking today how our poor friends on the Magic are currently deprived of all the fun and opportunity that we are all enjoying. I know that I personally was glad to snuggle in the laundry room with he kids while a tornado was being tracked five miles south of here. Thankfully the worst damage was about 30 miles west of here and broke up before the system reached us. The location south of us got strong winds and hail but no touch down thankfully.

I also learned how to install a the knob thingies that turn the water on and off. :) W announced that his cold water knob thingy came off so I set out to evaluate the configuration and a short time later the lightbulb went on and I did it!!! I put it all back together and it works! :) WHOO HOO! What a feeling of accomplishment on a Mother's day afternoon. ;)

Actually Saturday morning while driving to the church talking about how all of our friends were getting ready to go to the terminal it occcured to me that we would have missed K's first communion if we had booked the May repo...which turned out to be a very exciting day for her. We had no idea what day it would be on so things turned out good for her. I am glad that she has this memory and is proud of herself for overcoming somthing that was scary for her. :)

Remember, you're my extra eyes that week, watching out for DD Elizabeth and her classmates!! :lmao:
They start off at the Magic Kingdom on the 9th...

She looks beautiful in her first communion dress! I teach second grade CCD, so I get that thrill of "my" kids' first communion each May.
