12/09/06 Geeks.... Lost, but not forgotten

Ohhhh, it will be in Philadelphia on Amanda's birthday! Think it's worth taking her and Dina out of school for the day PJ?

Caroline, maybe? Mickey and Goofy were there for the big draw but no interaction with the crowd. They gave out the mickey head balloons and had the draw, but other then that not much else happening for Disney fans.

PJ, so lovely to hear from you. Miss yo. We are having a great, very very lazy time. It is very hot, but when we get home next Tuesday it is going to be cold and wet!!! So glad I can say we are going to Orlando NEXT month!!!

I still think of those last few days in DL when we kept bumping into you and Angie and Dennis. We really enjoyed DL.

Looks like we may not leave the Northwest until after Thanksgiving. We need to be in Oregon Nov 16 for a 40th wedding anniversary then Washington State for Thanksgiving. We will see what the weather looks like. So, we would not be in Orlando by mid Dec with that plan. We are thinking mid to late Jan in WDW at the campground for a couple of weeks. Love those DVC points!!

We enjoyed DL with the geeks also and what fun running into Marilyn and John!

One of us misunderstood the plan! We stayed up past 2AM but JoJo wanted up at 7AM! Something about food & potty.

LOL! You have to set that little bugger straight! Last night I sat the kids down and said...Daddy is going to the office tomorrow morning to work. You are staying up late to watch Clone Wars. You WILL NOT wake me up screaming, yelling, running through the house like a herd of elephants or turn on the light in my eyes to wake me up before 8 am!!! If they did they would lose their DS for a few days. I had the best morning and was so rested waking up on my own right before 8, no bickering and we started cleaning up. I planted the mums that were outside already and then took William to the store to get more after Mike got home to stay with Kaitlyn. Now back to work outside to get this done!

It's been an amazing 8500 posts with you here Brack!

I had no idea how many posts I had. LOL! I worked out in the yard and almost broke my back again...but I love seeing the flowers and all growing the rest of the year. I have planted 21 large mums and 8 purple kale so far in the front flowerbed. I replanted the pots for the steps today with smaller mums and some white pansies also. The mums this year are burgandy, white and a really pretty almost salmon pink. I have them in groups of three with the kale in between. There aren't enough pansies around here to choose from right now so I will wait on filling in the beds with those. I picked up 6 smallish bales of pinestraw today and after Church tomorrow and a quick trip to Lowe's while the kids are in CCD to get more of the weed fabric, I will tackle the front beds...raking up the old straw, pulling out the weeds, laying the cloth down inbetween the plants, and then spreading the pine straw out again. OH, I also decorated the front porch more for Halloween today. I bought 10 yards of a black gauzy fabric and cut it in half and draped it around to make things a bit eerie. The huge spiderwebs and pumpkins are really adding to the effect this year. K does NOT like the floating witch I picked up after the holiday last year. She helped me put the stupid thing together and was smiling until we tested it. I swear she jumped down those six steps backwards when it started to cackle.

Be careful out there in the yard. Yardwork makes the house special but when you are not used to it the body can be stressed.

Last week I really paid for it and could hardly get out of bed Sunday morning. We didn't go to Church because there was no way I could sit for an hour. I cleaned the house 8:30 - 12 then used the riding mower for the side and back yards. I didn't think that I would feel anything from that but my legs got stiff and my back ached a bit. I then had DH show me how to use the pressur washer so that I coudd clean off the front porch and walk before redoing the flowerbeds and decorating for Halloween. OMG!!! I didn't stop until around 4 pm. I over did it that day but didn't want to stop. I didn't feel worn out when I was doing this and the weather was nice and cool so it wasn't too hot. When I got up...or tried to get up from the couch after watching TV that night I knew that I was going to be in trouble and took some Advil before going to bed.
