Does anyone else feel frustrated trying to plan excursions and stuff? I read about all these other people having their ports changed ... the uncertainties that they are going thru....then I know that we've still got another hurricane season to go thru....and I'm just feeling like I can't plan anything other than - wait and see. Usually by now I've done my research and collected lots of info and I'm mulling over it...but I just can't seem to even look up any island. Just feel like a sailboat without a sail..... And I'm honestly not a procrastinator....I just can't seem to find the heart to research a place that we might not end up at....

Karen--I feel the same way. I feel kind of "stuck" until the first group goes. I don't even know when to schedule Palo and stuff because I don't know what day Pirate night, formal night, etc. will be. The hurricane season has me a little bit worried, Cozumel sounds shaky right now, let alone after another round of storms. It sounds like some of the people are really having to scramble to find things to do, I don't want that to happen to us.

If we don't do Cozomel I wonder where we will go. We are already going to Costa Maya. I wonder if they would chose Grand Cayman. Although like you just said, we have a whole hurricane season to go through. Who knows what it will be like down there. We want to do some beach time.

It's funny, I am usually a compulsive planner for our trips, but this time it really doesn't matter where we go just as long as we are on that ship! I think I would even be happy with just sea days and the 2 CC days for beach time. We will, of course, enjoy exploring the history and culture of whatever stops we can make. Since we can't book anything until 90 days out, I guess I am just laid back for a few more months. Of course, between Sept when we can book and the cruise date there are many days of hurricane season. :confused3

Diddo, to the whole planning feeling! And it just clicked in that I booked 2007's cruise for the end of October, lol. Talk about hurricane uncertainy.

I'm up with the baby and figure I would look at the boards...hey I'm up anyway. I am so excited about the Christmas decorations and special events that will take place. I could normally never cruise in December. I am a music teacher and that time of year I do several concerts. Since I will still be on Maternity leave until January, this will be my last shot at a December cruise until I retire in like 30 years...now that would be a killer wait!!!!

Just wanted to share - my second grader has to write a small paper in school today so we were doing our research last night. They have to compare and contrast 2 animals. He chose sharks and stingrays. He was beaming about feeding a stingray last time we were at Sea World.

Anyone know how that stingray feeding on CC is? I would love for him to be in the water with them. That would make for a great surprise.

Formal night will be Monday...first sea day. With the schedule now semiformal will be Thursday. Pirate night has been done on Wednesday for Westerns when either CM or Coz were on the list.

We have cruised after hurricane season for 3 years. The first was unaffected. The second was after GC was hit. We shouldn't have gone there IMO because it still looked terrible. Of course, Cozumel was really messed up because of the fact that they had the main road by the water torn up to redo...and it was like that for over a year from reports. :( It didn't make shopping fun with a stroller at all...narrow sidewalk, couldn't cross street, plywood over the holes in the sidewalk. :( I wasn't impressed with Coz at all. Third wasn't affected either. Maybe we should just stick with the Easterns since they don't seem to be bothered by the hurricanes. Of course with that being said this one was booked because of the DD, not any of the other islands so that doesn't really matter to us, and the next one in the works is based on the date so that we wont be as rushed for the holidays.

In hope you can help me out again. I just sent you an email with a picture att. of the Costa Maya port. Could you please post it for me. I guesse I just need to find a thread on how to post them. Also whyn would they put pirate night on the Coz stop when we don't leave the port tell 10:30, why not have it on costa maya night when we have to be out of there at 5:30? thanks Brenda

Good morning everyone! I have been at camp in the wilds of eastern Oklahoma since Sunday for business meetings. This is the first time that I have been near the wireless internet connection all week. I have missed the DIS a lot.

Today starts my wife's Scrap & Praise weekend here. It will be fun for the ladies (and a few men). I am the "tech support" so I have my laptop, a scanner and a photo printer to help. Luckily we are near the network so I can peak at the board every now and then.

I saw some of you talking about your weather. Two days ago it was over 80 degrees all day. Today it is barely 40 degrees! Only in Oklahoma. It is still very dry all over and the brush fires are popping up. Some of our people are out with canteens feeding the firemen. Pray for them all.

Blessings to you all. I be on more throughout the weekend so I'll chat more.
:thumbsup2

Good morning!

Mark, I sent you a PM.

Brack, we are seeing OK on fire again. We will keep this situation in our prayers. We have some relatives down there also.

Here's a post explaining it for you. :)

IDK why DCL does what it does. ;) When we were in GC the last tender was suppose to be around 4:30/5 pm. We didn't have the party that night. It was in Cozumel on Wednesday.

Mum,

To post a picture, first open a free account at Photobucket

Upload a pic to their site.

Then copy & paste the link found in the "IMG" box (below the picture) to your DIS post.

Very easy. :thumbsup2

Karen - Harrisburg is a great city! We are about 45 min. north of you. My SIL works there but lives like 2 min. from our house. She makes that drive everyday! I go to Harrisburg for the purpose of scrapbook shopping!

Brack - Sorry to hear about the fires. That must be so scarey. Living in eastern PA I have never experienced anything like that. I am very intrigued by the scrap and praise event your wife is attending. Are they scrapbooking and worshiping? I think it sounds like fun!!! I love scrapbooking almost as much as I love Disney! That is where all of my extra money goes!

Scrap & Praise is a women's retreat for our church held each year about this time. It is a time for scrapping and worship. This year my DW has added professional massages, manicures and pedicures. At meals they do book reviews. It is a great weekend and it is done at our church camp near Tahlequah, Oklahoma (the end of the Trail of Tears). It starts at noon on Friday but several came in Thursday afternoon to get a head start. It ends on Sunday morning with a worship service.

There are three men here but I am the only one who scraps. This weekend I am scanning and printing photos for the ladies to scrap.

It is fun and if you are ever in this area during the event you are welcome to come in.
:thumbsup2

That sounds like alot of fun! :) I would find a place to stash the kids for a couple days to do that. ;)

~Angie, Thanks for the PM....The cards are a great idea! :thumbsup2
