I just feel so dang guilty being in a foreign country and not even getting off the ship (unless I am in Nassau which I've been to numerous times). So as much as I love the ship, I may still have to do the ruins tour as it is currently the only one that really interests me.

I think we will do the ruins tour. Dennis and I both love history and find this kind of tour much better for us than going to a beach. We will probably do Disney's just because it is easy and comfortable for us.

Mark, the conference sounds wonderful. What a great opportunity for you and your wife to have a bit of time together  and grow in your faith as well.

What are some other choices for us to do, I really don't want dh driving as he gets stressed here and it would be a nightmare there. Maybe we should just get a room and do the pool thing with the kids. or go to that cool hotel with the waterslides and stuff for the day, then have the town car pick us up there and then takes us to the airport. Anyone want to take our laugage to the airport with then for us? lol :rotfl2: , or maybe hang at the beach who knows.

Girl scout. We are going to do the tulum ruins and it is an all day thing, not a short trip, like 8 hours. How are you guys getting to the port?

Driving to Cape Kennedy is really not bad, especially from the port. Then back to the airport is pretty easy too. Just be wary of those toll booths! We are not used to those up in the Northwest and we "held up traffic" a couple of times last year. Luckily the rental car had Georgia plates so we did not give Oregonians a bad name. :lmao:

Brenda (Mum)--
I'm not sure yet how we are getting to the port. I thought the DCL transfers would pick us up at CSR and take us to the port. I later learned that DCL busses don't pick up at CSR. Someone from DCL Reservations told me that we could get on the DCL at any of the "participating" resorts or AK. I then asked how to get our luggage to the port if we wanted to go to AK on Saturday morning. She said that I could have the luggage transferred over to participating resort or to take it over in a taxi. It really doesn't matter to us if we are at the port early or not, we just don't want the ship to leave without us. :) I keep watching the transportation board to see if anyone has caught a bus at a different resort than the one they were staying with. I guess if all else fails, we'll hire a towncar or limo. The cost of that plus the rental car for the last day will be about the same amount we would have paid for the Disney transfers. I'm nervous about the rental car and dropping it off at MCO, we've never rented before and we'll have to figure out the drop-off thing.

A towncar is really the least stress way to go, IMHO. DCL transfers are also very easy, but you run on their time schedule, not yours.
It has been fairly easy to return cars at all the airports we have dealt with. The rental car return is clearly marked when you near the airport as they know that most folks renting there do not know the area. Most then have a shuttle of some sort to get you to the airport.

With so many people wanting to do the ruins tour, we should put a group together & book with the guide that has been recommended on the board.

We would be willing to do this with a group. :thumbsup2 We are just not comfortable wandering off by ourselves in a foreign country that we have never visited.

Been very busy with church, my aunt's memorial service and sifting through job possibilities. I met with a guy from church who owns a huge company and would like me to consider a few different options......just don't know what I am going to do.
Good to have you back on the board. We all missed you.

Good luck with the job decisions. I know how difficult those decisions can be. Will keep you in our prayers.

I just emailed the company asking how many people they can transport in a group. Their FAQ page also says that they can customize a tour for your group. I asked for a list of additional locations that can be visited.

Sounds good. I think it will be quite a bit less expensive doing this on our own. I like to save $$$. :teeth:

DH has been know to call me "cheap" on occasions. Now I am fairly confident that he is speaking of my spending habits not my behavior! :rotfl: :lmao:

Lisa, you are one of my peoples, a planner, got to love and support our kin, eh?

A group tour would be great. And the cost seems to be lower than Disney, a nice perk.

I figure that it is worth looking into. This guide has great reviews. If we have control over how much time we spend at the ruins & what else we can see, that might appeal more. Maybe they could do a simple tour of the island for siteseeing?

Lisa, I just realized what time it is at your house. You are up late tonight! Glad to be able to talk with you real time.

I think I would be up for that too....especially if they could squeeze it in a shorter time frame. Then we spend more time on the boat.... :teeth:

Oh and the Ducks WIN in OT tonight against the Kings. We have a great record in January and are now in contention for the playoffs.....

Wondering where Wendy and Jordan are. Hope all is well with them. :worried: DH just told me he will not be working again tomorrow. He is scheduled for Wed though and should be able to return by then. He slept until after 1 today, then took a nap from 4-6. Nasty stuff he has.

Hi Angie,

We've been around - just crazy busy - lately now when I finally get on there's about 10 pages to go through... work's been insane - going in at 3 or 4 in the morning, working until 5 or 6pm... I'm a nutcase these days

As we speak now, it's 11:30pm and I'm getting up at 4am to go to work... this will be me :surfweb:

We're also having some issues @ church regarding conflict resolution so that's been taking up all my mental energy as well... :sad2:

Oh, and there's the two kids to tend to as well... ha ha. Erin sings excerpts of Disney songs all the time (so cute) and Dylan is starting to eat foods and crawl. Yeeks.

We hear "up where they walk, up where they run, up where they stay all day in the sun... watch and you'll see... someday i'll be... part of your... world" a LOT. Also "i'm gonna be a mighty king, so enemies beware..." and of course, your favorite "it's a small world after all..." (we just went to DL last week).

Hee hee hee.
