Lisa - my DH worked for Albertsons's for 8 or so years but no longer works for them, my sister was in HR - her last day was this week though.

Good to know about the shuttle/car situation. I guess we will just stay at WDW since we have our own car, etc....I don't know why I am going back and forth on this cruise.

It was sunny and warm here and then tonight it is supposed to go down to the 40's YUCK! We leave for WDW tomorrow. My sister decided to come with us. So it's just me, DH 2 DD's and my crazy little sister....now I have to REDO all our ADR's. I am pretty excited though. I really need a break from reality. WDW does that for me!

Lisa, It is so different here, We only have about 5,000 in our town, but in the summer you can drive around and see doors open all night long. I know someone who doesn't even have keys to thier house becouse they never lock it. I still need to update our stuff to you, have it written out just not typed in and not sent to you, I will get it done today as spencer is home sick today with a cold.

Lillygator, We too are staying at wdw tell saterday morning, Then we'll do a town car or something to the port, early.

Buzzboymom, Alady emailed me about 10 pict and a report of thier shopping in Costa maya. Now I am stoked to go, I think I'll leave the boys on the ship while I shop then go get them for some time for them also, but I don't want to worry about them while I powershop at the fishing village. She sent pic of the market there, some of the hand painted bowls, and a bar like mr sanchos that has bar swings. I told DH, When you fall off your cut off :rolleyes1 I want to try them also. They have a really nice beach at the village and it cost $3 p/p there and $2 p/p back, worth it to me. Gotta send out my taxes today so I can book our wdw part. Mum

Hi guys, we just got back from the Orthodontist. My dd needs work done. Thank God for insurance. We still have to pay half thou. Ouch it will hurt. I know its worth it. My wife had braces, I never did. So maybe no cruise in 07. :confused3

Lisa,

This IS a record for our negotiations - we are living in difficult competitive times :sad2:

Vanessa - have fun at WDW - we have our AP's now, and I know that if we were as close as you were, that we too would be getting our doses of fantasy as often as possible. How's that pool coming?

We are finally cold and snowy. Freezing to go outside, and about an inch on the ground. I sometimes wonder what it would be like to live in a town where you don't have to lock the doors . . . I have been afraid to let my kids do half of the things we did when we were kids - I used to be gone from afternoon until night, no cell phone, and my mom didn't have to worry.

Angie, while I was not a :hippie: , I grew up when they were around in force. I am the tail end of that baby boom generation - born in 1960. I remember my dad driving us through one of our city parks for entertainment, and so that he could deride the long hair of the :hippie: s that would hang out there.

Doing my taxes too, but waiting for that DVC interest statement to finish up.

John

I'm here Mark.

DS had braces, so I feel your pain. It was well worth it though, as he had a lot of problems with his bite.

I've been dealing with a dog for three days that does not want to you know what outside . . . :dog: I think I finally figured it out though - it's the SNOW!
New experience for her, and she did not want to do her business in it. She had not done #2 in the house for 3 weeks, and now did it three days in a row - all since the snow came!

DW has been sick with a virus, so I've had a busy time between commitments, the dog, and DD.

John

It is very quiet around here, almost scary quiet.

I got our air booked today. :) We decided to fly in the night of Dec 6, that way we have two full days in the parks. We booked at $268 per person. My TA thought that was a good price. I didn't realize until today that my ground transfers were only from the airport to the port and back. I thought that they were from any Disney resort. So now I need to figure out how to get from CSR to the port, with all our stuff. We were spoiled with the land and sea, we left our luggage in the resort room, headed to AK and got on a bus at 12:30. I guess I go reread the threads about the towncars. DCL told me we could take the bus (with all our stuff) back to the airport and catch the bus to the port or get ourselves to the swan (with all our stuff). No thanks.

Mark--sorry about the braces. DS has them, as did I, he got all my and DH bad traits combined. He is almost done with them and wants to have a "no more braces party" where he can have all the good stuff again like gum, taffy, caramel. The funny thing is he got them before most of his friends, so they wouldn't be able to eat anything at his party. :lmao: At least DD doesn't need them, and lucky for us we got his paid for before finding out about Disney cruises.

Hey Jordan--Where've been? Every morning I check the thread to see if you west coasters have been busy. I've been very disappointed over the last few days. Then again, I think I'm the only one who doesn't have a life, nothing better to do than dream about Disney.

John, as soon as posted that I was wondering who was gonna reply with that....thanks for not disappointing. :teeth:

I know I haven't been around......just busy with life I guess.

I just found out one of my cousins has recently started working for Pixar. Cool. He's a computer whiz, but I don't think he works in the Animation Division.

Lisa this is a copy of the email she sent me, thanks for the pm. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I have never posted pic but will try.

Ok... Where do I start...! We had very low expectations for Costa Maya and went we got off the ship and went through the shopping area, we were REALLY disappointed. The products are expensive, there are too many people and it was too hot (and the day wasn't even a hot one!). They had some swimming areas but it looked too crowded. We were about to go back to the ship but we ran into our table mates and they suggested going to Mahala.

The buses are outside the shopping area. There's a drive-up area that all the buses and taxis go to and from. We took the bus to the village

($3/each) and then took a taxi back ($2/each).

The village was great. One on the right side, there were buildings with lots of tables and tents out front - almost like a craft fair on the street.

On the left, there were more vendors set up, plus bars and best of all, a beautiful beach. You could see our ship from the beach - great for pix.

We were told by someone that there was a restaurant called Dolphins (or something like that) and it was great. We skipped eating and shopped. We ran into more friends and ended up leaving my husband and son with her husband and sons to play on the beach and drink beer. We did more shopping!

Here are some of the things we saw to buy - Silver Jewelry Pottery - tons of it!! (sinks included) Wall hangings Clothing - everything from t-shirts on Cigars - Cuban, etc.

On the beach, there were bars and restaurants plus you could get a 30 minute massage for $20. One of the dads in our group was also offered some "special services" by a vendor's sister... Yuck!

There were a few locals going around dressed in tribal dance wear (for lack of a better term) and posing with tourists (for tips). The kids loved that.

I would go back again in a heartbeat!

Take care,

Kathleen

Lisa if you send me your email again, I can forward it to you then you could post the pict there are 10 of them.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: John, I like your dad. He sounds like those folks up in Montana Dennis introduced me to. :rotfl:

Dennis has been pretty sick for about 10 days. He finally went to the doc today because he was getting worse instead of better and found that he has pneumonia. He could use some prayers and pixie dust. pixiedust: He got a big dose of antibiotics and some codeine for the cough. Doc said he should feel better in about 4 days, if not come back.

We have lived in our house for 18 years and did not even have keys to the doors until last summer. Dennis replaced the locks so we can lock it up when we are gone. There has not been any problems in our immediate "neighborhood" (we are rural so neighbors are pretty far apart), but the entire state has gotten such a meth problem going on that Dennis thought we should start locking up. I really don't see the point because no one lives close enough to hear breaking windows if someone wanted in. :confused3 Guess for insurance claim it would look better if they had to actually break in. We have started locking the doors at night also. :sad2:
