Hey all...

Well, after much deliberation, I decided to skip my December Eastern cruise in 2006...

Disneyland is calling my name...

So while you all are at sea, I'll be at the Grand Californian..

It was fun getting to know you all on the 05 December Eastern... I'll be back in 07..

Oh, but to get my eastern fix, I just booked for 2/18!! Yippie.
Shelley, I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bummed. I had so much fun with you guys. Hey if you are gonna be out in California around the Xmas season, do you have to schedule it while we're on the cruise (or is that the point?). I would like to see you if possible since I only live 5 minutes away. I'll email you.

Wow you guys are soooooo chatty!!! I just got back from Carmel for the weekend and I miss out on 10 pages. Welcome to all our new friends. We had a wonderful time. The resort was right on the coast. We had a one bedroom with fire place it was very romantic. Only thing is we had our munchkins with us. We still had a great time. It was a time share from Hyatt. Do any of you guys have a time share and where do you own? We decided not to buy in the end. But, we are really thinking of buying into it. If we do we will probably go with Hawaii or something like that.
Mark

Mark, you should PM my cousin WendyO. She and her husband have a few timeshares. They have Disney Vacation Club (VWL and VB) and also a few with Starwood (Westin, Sheraton, W, etc). They own in Palm Desert and Hawaii? with Starwood. They are very generous and sometimes include me in their vacation plans (usually to WDW). They've gone to numerous, and I mean numerous, timeshare presentations. I think they would say Starwood is one of the better ones out there. Anyways, I thought I'd let you know.

Oh, I am glad you had a good time in Carmel. That area is one of my favorite places in California.

I just asked DH how old he thought that you were & he said he had no idea. I thought for sure that we were older than you.

I get that alot. Most folks think I am in my early to mid thirties...I am blessed with good genes. My grandfather lived to be 100

Hey Everyone!

Lisa - what a neat idea about the stockings! Should we bring little "stocking stuffers" and we can pass them out at one of our dismeets?

I miss being out here so much. I'm responsible for a big school winter festival on Feb. 4th and it has had me so crazy lately. Believe it or not - I had to come out to the boards just for some sanity!!! I know it is hard to believe! I have to spend my weekends putting together these carnival type games. It requires me to cut boards, use power tools, paint, and be creative. DH heard about my needing to use a power saw....he has offered to help! Guess he wants me to keep all my fingers!!!! And no - in case anyone is wondering - I've never used a power saw before. I'm okay with power screw gun and a hammer....if ya don't care if the nails are straight. So - - - sounds like I'm in for one heck of a weekend, huh?! Wish I had some of you creative disboarders living close by.
Oh, Karen! I feel your pain! I was the coordinator for our school's fall carnival. I did an outer space theme. It was SO much work. I had never done anything like that before & was on my own because the PTO VP was in CA for a family illness.

I would also like to say fortunately, I've been carded in the last year.
Hey, I'm 55 and got carded today!! :cool1: Of course it was at Target where the computer cards EVERYONE who buys wine/beer and won't let the transaction proceed until the clerk puts in a date of birth. But....I can still say I was carded!

We too were fooled about Jordan's age. I thought for sure he was about the same age as our DD who is 37.

So this will let you know how old I am......and possibly make you think I am even older....I thought Disneygatorfan (Shelley) was Lillygator (Vanessa) so I am thinking Vanessa and John aren't going on our cruise. I am emailing them....and then Vanessa sends me an email saying you got the wrong person......SENIOR MOMENT.

ROFLMAO!!! I thought that was what you meant, Jordan but didn't want to post so in case I was wrong. :)

You weren't wrong. Can I get my both my feet and both my hands out of my mouth any faster?

And we ARE going to miss Shelley and her grandma! ;) We had a wonderful lunch with them. ::yes:: Shelley sails often enough though that I am sure she will catch up with us on another cruise.

jordan,
Yes maybe I'll talk with her to see if she has any insight on time shares. I would love to learn more. I hope you all had a wonderful week!

Hi Mark,

We are timeshare junkies  We first bought at Disney (VWL) in 2001 and then have subsequently bought at Vero Beach (DVC), and Rancho Mirage, Hawaii and Cancun (Starwood). We have friends that own Marriott, but liked Starwood better so bought there as well. We have found that DVC and Starwood complement each other well.

If you have questions, feel free to go ahead and PM me and we can discuss at length (unless others in the thread have questions).

Watch out, you'll get addicted... we find ourselves having to map out our whole year now to make sure we maximize our points. We are vacation fiends... :hyper:

I am here... late night owl on the West coast! I'm sometimes online till 2 am.. love the quiet in the house after the kids have gone to bed!

Me too! I'm a night owl too. I have the house to myself and I'm not taking time away from hubby...just taking time away from my sleep!

Goodness, we are a chatty group aren't we? We were away at Disneyland for five days and I couldn't believe how many pages of reading I had to do to catch up on our thread!

Disneyland was great! Monday was raining and as each day progressed it got warmer and warmer. I couldn't believe I was wishing I brought along my shorts...we never have weather like this in Jan, although I'm not complaining, just surprised! We were able to catch DL still decorated for Christmas and we caught the last night at Small World (decorated for Christmas) before they closed it for refurbishment. I loved all the lights. My kids loved the firework show and the special treat at the end was "snow"! Only at Disney can they create magic like that. The whole week was jammed with people. DLH CM's told us that normally at this time of year it's their slow season but all three hotels were sold out and the parks were at max capacity...they suspect it's due to the 50th anniv celebration. We saw a lot of Texas fans at the parks on Thurs in their autumn orange colors...a lot of Texas band folks too! On Wed ESPN had a mob of people sitting outside the restaurant just watching the game on the outdoor TV. It was quite the scene.

Well, it was great to get away but it's even better to come back. Down side is I have a ton of laundry to do! Lucky me.....

This is a chatty group! It is going to take forever to catch up. I better start!
