Oh, Karen! I feel your pain! I was the coordinator for our school's fall carnival. I did an outer space theme. It was SO much work. I had never done anything like that before & was on my own because the PTO VP was in CA for a family illness.

Thanks Lisa! Glad to know there are some others who can relate. As you can see, I was so busy that I never got on the boards this weekend and WOW - you guys have been chatty! When I saw we were close to 1000 I thought people might be hanging out.

I'm back to report that me and the power tools got along just fine after I explained to them who was boss.......but that was after the drill went thru my thumb. I have a nice little cut where the drill went thru the frist part of my thumb and out the other side. Not literally thru the finger, but thru 2 areas of skin. You can actually see the type of drill bit I was using! After some yelling and crying, I finished the job. But ya never realize how much you use that part of your thumb until you have a cut on it.

Okay - back to catching up! Hope everyone else had a pain-free weekend.

It is so lonely on the thread with all your west-coasters in bed. You guys are all chatty chatty chatty :hyper2: :hyper2: :hyper2: all night long and then I get up in the morning, have to catch up on pages of stuff and there is no one else awake.

Well, you guys sleep soundly knowing I am here watching over our thread! I will be sure it is kept safe and sound each morning until the rest of you rise and shine.

LOL! Sorry to hear about your accident...that can't have felt too good. :( How you kept right on working is beyond me! I am getting the kids ready for school right now. I will be at the school for a bit this morning...then I am going to try to paint while the weather is in the high 60s today & I can open the windows.

OUCH!!
Hey, I fixed the bathtub drain yesterday! The little thingy (I think that is the technical term for it) that you flip up and down to open or close the drain would not stay up, so the drain was always closed. Makes for yucky showers per DGS! :rotfl2: Of course it only required the use of a screwdriver and a pair of pliers AND the expert advice from our local hardware store man.

Hi guys, Lisa my days at the school are wed and thursday, we havent had any pto meeting for a while I wonder why? Maybe i'll ask on wed. We have bank day on wed at re. time. Wahington mutal has a kids bank account, and they can give us money we put in the comp. and they get prizes every two dep. The lady from the bank encurages them to put in a penny or a nickle. They get stuff like pens, penc, This week my kids get calculaters. It has really cut down on MY disney stash fund. as I have been giving each DS all my $dollars or sometimes $5. bills, but I figure that then I wont have to give them any spending money while were there. I also made them a deal that any of there money they put in there I would double it. That sure cost me from thier birthdays. Anyway has anybody ever used walmarts travel to go anywhere? I thought I would check and see if a week at wdw would be cheeper from them then wdw. Mum of two pirates

Wow - I don't do plumbing....always seems too hard. :worship:

But here's power to the women! :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:
( just kidding, guys!)

Hey guys!

I thought I was the only one that was on during the day, nice and quiet with everyone at school and work. If only I could get the pets to behave. :rotfl:
I haven't worked in two years but I'm busier now than when I worked. The advantage I have now is that I can say no to things I don't want to do. We're right in the middle of swim season, the state meet isn't until the first weekend of March, practices on Mon, Tues, and Thurs, meets on Saturdays.
I'm still trying to put real names with IDs, one family had boys who wrestle. Is the boys' wrestling season during the winter? My DS13 wants to try wrestling next year. I'm unsure about it. It's not a sport I'm very familiar with.

Exactly eleven months from today we will be on the Magic having just a few more shrimp at Parrot Cay or an extra dessert by the Mickey Pool (whichever is your fancy).

I have not been on the boards lately - went to Vero Beach and Cocoa Beach for Christmas - got to see lots of the Wonder and Magic from shore - got to meet Shirley - and could not believe the number of posts while I was gone!! :scared1: Been working to catch up - :scared: ::yes:: .

Lot's of DVC members in the group - We have been DVC since 1998 - BWV. Our favorite place is OKW, though. Have never used points for anything but DVC properties.

Some great plans being made for next December - only 11 months!

Suzanne

What are you guys looking forward to the most? Me, well this time since we are doing C/C twice spending a lot of time with my D/W at Serenity Bay. Playing with my kid's in the water and on the play ground thing in the water. Spending time with our friends, dancing and learning to make more towel animals!

Can't wait for deck 9, the band, a good book and a bowl of cut up fruit. I wanna be there now!!!!!!!!!

Penny,
That does sound wonderful!!! :cloud9: I can never just slooooooow down. But, that book thing..... now your talking! ::yes::

We're most looking forward to our time at CC, we booked this cruise for the sole reason that we're going there twice. Being on a Caribbean island where it is 83 compared to being home where it was 12 was awesome. Our last cruise our excursions weren't all that great, but we could have stayed a week on CC just lounging around and playing in the water. My DH and DD made it back on board with 5 minutes to spare. Our DS really liked the teen excursion too. I don't know much about the ports yet, but the ruins sound fascinating.

Cove Cafe playing Skipbo with DH drinking a great Latte, IF DGS will spend some time in the clubs. He tells me he will and I'm hoping that getting some buddies thru this board will help.

I am a closet romance reader, but give me a good Robert Ludlum and I am happy!

Fruit?!? Who can think about fruit at a time like this? The closest I'll come to fruit on the cruise is ia strawberry smoothie with an umberella in it! :) Or as a topping on a big slice of cheesecake.

This may have been a mistake. Now that I have shown that I CAN do it, (DH was working yesterday making some extra $$ for my Disney addiction) am I going to be EXPECTED to do it? :scared1:
Actually this one was a very simple task after talking to the Hardware Man. Our local HWM is the best. I have made many trips there when DH is working on house projects and said "I need a thingy" with a brief description of the job and he always knows exactly what we need and explains how to install.
