OK Caroline. Mark your calendar for this Friday evening. Chat should be fun while we are racing for 40,000 at the same time! You don't want to miss it! :rotfl:

Just got a call that we won one of the raffle baskets at the Fall Faire at Walt's preschool. It's an ice-cream themed basket. :thumbsup2
Elizabeth remembers that there was a Coldstone gift card in the basket, along with toppings, cones, scoop, etc!

I just love winning stuff like that - of course I would also love to win sometihing big sometime - like a trip to Paris or something.

alas. It is those little wins that keep you hopeful.

We have a 1,000-gallon buried propane tank and a couple of our bills this past winter were beyond scary! :scared1:[/QUOTE]

We also use propane and it is considerably more expensive than last year. Can you negotiate a bulk purchase? that is what we do - it does lower the cost quite a bit.

It has been too long for DH and I. I fantasize about a nice long quiet dinner without having to deal with the kids. For that reason I am so looking forward to our Palo night.

I'm with ya!!! believe me - twins is a long tough road. ooops I'm complaining. but it has been a long time. just being in a different place with some quiet time will be fun.

I hope it will be a fantastic cruise for you.

Jaea also uses the installment plan. It can be frustrating - right after we get out of the bathroom - she will look at me and say "I have to go really bad". I just can't understand it. The whole process ends up taking 20 min. Giona hates the smell of public bathrooms and complains the whole time.

DGS just got home from work and he is happy, happy tonight. :woohoo: He got his employee discount card today AND it was double discount day for employees - he got an IPOD and saved about $70 on it, and a pair of shoes for $30 that were regular $60. AND the best part he got his real shiny name badge, no more funky temp badge for him! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

YEAH!!!! :thumbsup2

Things to do before the Cruise
1. Find a part time job in tax prep for Jan-April
2. Get an Eye Exam
3. Get an Ear Exam (what did she say?)
4. Get my head examined (literally, migranes)
5. Any last minute Cruise Shopping
6. Christmas Shopping for Family (Who are they again?)
7. Complete 9 or 10 T-Shirt Quilts

Yikes! :scared1: I still check in every couple of days but I just can't keep up like I used to. Will someone please volunteer to PM me if there are any plans I need to know?

Patsy, I am posting as many plans that will fit onto the website. There is a page for meet & greets. Just pm if you have any questions. :)

When we go for the June trip...we are all picking our favorite restaurant...then adding a few others. I have the fun job of figuring out when we go where!

we went to California Grill on this last trip. We had never been before but I think I would go on every trip now - the view is fantastic. Ken enjoyed the sushi. I also like Jiko a lot - very dark and romantic.

How cool! :thumbsup2

We'd been corresponding with the son of some friends of ours who was stationed in Mosul, Iraq. About two months ago, his unit was on patrol and encountered one of those roadside suicide bombers. Luckily, the bomb detonated just in front of their vehicle (any later and they all most likely would have been killed). The friends' son/soldier suffered severe burns to his face, arms & hands as he was the driver that day.

After a while in Germany and then a world-class burn unit in San Antonio, Texas.....he came home for a visit. His folks sent an email to everyone that had been writing to him to let us know he was flying back into Reagan National Airport (D.C.) at about 11 p.m. one night.

Because of weather delays, his flight actually didn't get in 'til almost 1:15 a.m., but over 100 people (relatives, friends, acquaintenances, etc.) ALL came to the airport, stayed 'til his flight got in and welcomed him home! I still get choked up/teary just thinking about it now. People had banners, flags, signs......everyone cheered. The friend's son/soldier had no idea people were coming to greet him. It was a Hallmark moment.

Just reading that made me tear up. He deserved the hero's welcome!

Well, this is just too sad.

There are teenagers in the Library sitting across from me at the computer terminals researching "the 70's" for a school paper. Every now and then they say something out loud and laugh about how weird it is.

Jeez......you know you're O-L-D when they're talking about things you lived through like it happened in the dark ages! :sad2:
