Don't worry Becka...you and I both will have our own pharmacy!!! I take EVERYTHING imaginable!!! We travel alot and I have needed the stuff so many times...many of the drugs you can't get on the boat. They have a limited selection. I am sure you couldn't get Delsym or some other specific thing you might use. So you are not alone with the pharmacy!
I have more than once been caught without what we need. DS & I are asthmatics and every once in a while need an albuterol nebulizer treatment. DH says don't worry about bringing one of those, I am sure the boat will have it. I am terrified to go without it. I have had to use more often than DS because of asthma induced by allergies. I will be the one with the really heavy carryon with the machine in it. I just hope they don't tighten security and not allow me to carry it on. I am not comfortable checking it.

OK - ONE more post before I go to bed - the phone just rang, and I have to share my own good news (usually when the phone rings at midnight it is not always good news . . .)

Alex just called, and he got his MCAT results (Medical School Entrance Exam). He had to pass this test (they get three tries) in order to keep his seat for the medical school and enter the medical school. And, BTW, it costs over $200 each time to take it.

This was his first try.

You have to score at least average on the MCAT to be admitted to the medical school - which is a score of 24 - at least 8 on each of three sections. 45 is perfect.

Alex got a 35!

Woohooo! :thumbsup2

Now he can relax through the rest of the year, and get decent grades without worrying about getting in to the med school next year. All this at just a little over 19 years old (most take it their junior year of college - at about age 21) - he is an amazing kid, and we are very proud of him.

Had to share with my closest friends!

John1

I swear if they could sell that proud parent feeling in a drug they would make millions!!!!! Congratulations!!!! And how did you ever get back to sleep after that great news?

Definitely!

oh yes, and I am also loving the ball uniforms, baseball, football, not so much basketball.

Awesome job Alex!!! Congrats also to you, Amy and Sophia....I am sure the support of all of you has been a tremendous comfort to him!

Well, I managed to stay off the computer last night!! Had to spend some time with DH. We watched Grey's, I thought it was a good episode.
I was also working on more magnets and I told John he should get a screen name for the DIS and start posting. I think he was contemplating and I asked him if he wanted me to do it for him and what he wanted as his name.....he said just call me......

BIG BANANA!!!

I about fell off the couch - HE DOES LISTEN TO ME!!! I tell him what we are talking about, especially when I am laughing out loud alone at my computer. I was shocked!!

Friday - yeah! Is there chat tonight? Is anyone going to be around or is everyone planning date nights?

We had date night last night. Yesterday and today are UEA. The teachers union education association.... do you all have those? Anyway, they were off so DD went to grandmas with her cousins. I got a lovely date night! We saw Invincible and stayed up late watching the we lost episode. (ipod t.v. converter) It was so fun! We called DD this morning and she was mad because she does not want to come home... ah grandmas.

today was much better than the past couple of days. my boss is out of town at a retreat. I swear it just keeps getting busier and busier. but it is friday :cool1: . we don't have any big plans but who know.s

Ok,

here is my thing with the school system. This is niether fair or an option for everyone so I am sorry in advance.

When DD was in K DH and I volunteered every week in DD's classroom. We (our company) also "sponsored" every party or event for the class or the entire kindergarten. This was intentional on our part. When the whole leave DD thing in the classroom happened, I decided I was going to be the PTA president and fix it myself. We have, this year, instituted a program for children who's parents opt out of certain events so they are not left in the hall by themsleves. Keep in mind here I only have 1 child.

Anyway, when it came down to choosing the next years classes, we asked DD K teacher, who was just lovely, to help put her in the right class. Of the 22 kids in her 1st grade class 10, including the K teachers son and nephew are in this class. There are 6 1'st grade classes. DD has not been teased, that she ever said, and she really likes her teacher. My DF helps every friday with math, we are "sponsoring" the halloween party and we start volunteering next month.

Many of you, probably think I am way over the top. And yes I am. And in no way can most families do this with multiple children, job requirements, etc... I'ts just the only way I could every figure out to meet my childs needs with 20 - 30 children in a classroom.

Your stories scare the bejebies out of me. Lisa, I just cannot imagine. Andy, horror, Karen, incredible. I have not had problems like this yet and I am hoping not to! Best of luck to all of you!!!!!

I couldn't realize why the ads started so early but this is the 1st year for no reason absentee ballots. a lot of people are voting absentee in order to avoid the lines in Nov. maybe the ads will start dying down now that all those people are done voting.

Not all those people are done yet. I have to go do this next week.

We travel so much, I have a pre-packed all the time drug bag with everything from zythromax to eye glass repair kit. You name it, I got it. I just refill what we used and wala... we are ready.

We are going to dinner with 2 other couples. Then we are going back to our friends house to play some cards. Then of course...a little.... .

OK, that was not at all subtle.

Just a quick check in. I'm heading up to work in a couple of minutes. I'm allowing extra time because I do not want to be late. We have a 2:30 meeting set up (5:30 for most of you). We could use lots of prayers for a good outcome for this young veteran and I if you have a minute. I will catch up after I get home.

Consider it done!

I get off work in less than 30 minutes!!! :woohoo: I am so ready for the weekend.

The only thing we really have planned is the Hartsburg Pumpkin Fest tomorrow. It should be sunny and in the mid-60s so we will have perfect weather. I am really looking forward to it.
