I feel so lonely....

Just catching up all by my lonesome....with only the 40 second rule left to comfort me....

Becka, we have a WONDERFUL book called The Next Exit. You can get it at thenextexit.com. It lists what is at every exit on every interstate highway in the nation. We have found when we travel with young kids that going thru a drive thru a mile or so before a rest stop then stopping at the rest stop to eat works really, really well. The kids do not have to sit at the rest stop like they do in a restaurant, but can run off some energy. Rest stops are quick and easy off and on the freeway. I find a rest stop in my Next Exit book then back track an exit or so and find a McD or something. This book is the absolute BEST roadtrip tool ever invented. I also highlight the Arco stations from here to CA because the gas is usually about 10 cents cheaper at those. We plan our gas stops with that book too.

Oh DD's not in that advanced, advanced section.....

But she seems to have a young, fun teacher this year (last year too) so that really helps.....

When i mean young..i mean that me DD looks older than some of the new teacher's at the school....

DD's english teacher was even a graduate of that MS and had dd's 7th grade eng teacher when she was there.

It makes such a difference when the teachers are enthusiastic. There are a couple of new ones at our school who I would LOVE to have the kids be in their classes if we are still here in a couple years.

Nope, we have only vote by mail in Oregon and the calls and adds don't stop until the last day you can drop the ballots off.
Don't even get me started on the vote by mail. No political signs within certain distance of voting place??? Not in Oregon we sit around the kitchen tables here and vote with campaign literature all around us. We fill out our ballots as a group, the stronger personalities in the family telling the less strong personalities how to vote, and some of us filling out grandma's ballot for her, having her sign it and mailing it in. Oh, we also continue to get ballots delivered to our homes for deceased voters and voters that moved 4 years ago (our son and dil still get ballots at our house). I heard a man call a radio station and say he voted his dead mother's ballot in an election that was "not important", meaning a special election about funding or something, just to see if he could and guess what. Three years later he was still getting ballots for her and no one questioned that a ballot for a deceased person had been signed and sent in. I really don't think anyone checks each and every signature on the outside envelope we have to sign to make sure it matches the signature on record. Voter fraud just waiting to happen.

Good Afternoon Gang! I picked up Eliza's 9 month pics today. They are super adorable. Obviously I am her mother and am bias...but they really turned out fabulous!

And where are they???? Take a digital picture of them & post it or post the URL to the Sears site.

While at Sears picking up Eliza's pics my DMom took DS to the bathroom. He actually went not an "I'm bored let's go to the bathroom." About 20 min. later he peed in his pants!!! I was shocked! I went with him to the bathroom and sent my DMom to the boys dept to buy underwear and pants. When she got back I realized that he had soaked socks and shoes! As you know...it is freezing cold here today. I got him changed and carried him barefoot out to the van. I was so ....I have no idea what caused this accident!

He is only 3. It happens. Sometimes when we are traveling DD says she has to stop & we do and she goes. 5 miles down the road she says it again & we know that we have to stop again or else.

Where am I writing from - The Apple Store. DD and I are going to eat at the Rainforest Cafe and we just had to stop in here. The new Red iPod Nano. Hmmm I got the pink one as a present for someone and I like the concept of the red giving $10. to charity. I like that - I heard that red project thing for Aids was coming but I had not heard when - I saw the english website. Anyway hmmm maybe I'll get a red ipod nano for me or maybe I'll exchange the pink one I purchased last week... Hmmm

I can't add my boo's yet - I can't hog the macbook in the apple store...

Dancing with the Stars fans... more news is out on Sara Evans dropping out of the competition. Divorce papers are filed, and the allegations against the husband are definitely not family-friendly.

How sad. That is ashame.

In a word ..... yes. There are some really funny things on this site and there are some really bad things on it.

oh no....my DS is the EXACT same way!!!! I am also a perfectionist when it comes to certain things. I have had the same fears for my son. Perfectionist really are hard on themselves. Being that kind of person has certain advantages...but the disadvantages are also unavoidable. My whole life growing up I drove my DMom crazy....perfect hair, perfect grades, perfect playing (instruments) you name it! Now it looks like I will have the same challenges with my DS.

Alex's writing was, is, and continues to be awful. One way to look at it is that kids don't write as much - keyboarding is more effective. Another way to look at it is maybe you will have doctors when they grow up too - they have the WORST writing!

THe whole lobster thing, doesn't make sense to me. It is always drenched with something, even it is just butter. Has anyone eaten it with nothing on it? What makes it so special? I eat fish, but shell fish is more about what goes on it or what it is dipped into. I love shrimp cocktail, I think because of the sauce, lol.

I might skip the lobster too, what else is on the menu that night?

They don't put butter on the lobster on the ship. The first cruise it was a bit over done, but good. The second & third cruises it was so tender....perfect just like it was! Lava cake is on the menu that night. That is generally all I order....2 lobster tails and the lava cake.
