Yes, but my DS waited until he was 7 to start being so gross. :furious: He says that we don't have the right toilets. He likes the urinals. :rolleyes1
:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: So drive him down to the gas station when he needs to go! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I couldn't realize why the ads started so early but this is the 1st year for no reason absentee ballots. a lot of people are voting absentee in order to avoid the lines in Nov. maybe the ads will start dying down now that all those people are done voting.
Nope, we have only vote by mail in Oregon and the calls and adds don't stop until the last day you can drop the ballots off.
Don't even get me started on the vote by mail. No political signs within certain distance of voting place??? Not in Oregon we sit around the kitchen tables here and vote with campaign literature all around us. We fill out our ballots as a group, the stronger personalities in the family telling the less strong personalities how to vote, and some of us filling out grandma's ballot for her, having her sign it and mailing it in. Oh, we also continue to get ballots delivered to our homes for deceased voters and voters that moved 4 years ago (our son and dil still get ballots at our house). I heard a man call a radio station and say he voted his dead mother's ballot in an election that was "not important", meaning a special election about funding or something, just to see if he could and guess what. Three years later he was still getting ballots for her and no one questioned that a ballot for a deceased person had been signed and sent in. I really don't think anyone checks each and every signature on the outside envelope we have to sign to make sure it matches the signature on record. :sad2: Voter fraud just waiting to happen.

Okay - I'm off to a pep rally at school.

V-I-C-T-O-R-Y...that's the football mom's battlecry!!!

....because I feel so passionate that our institution did absolutely the wrong thing to one of our veterans and we need to make it right.

Angie -- Do you work with Veterans? If so, a humble thank you.

My DFIL was a WWII vet......chief crew mechanic for a B-17 bomb group in England. He received excellent care at a Veterans Hospital and later, a Veterans home with a specialized Alzheimer's patient wing (which he suffered from before passing away 10 years ago).

You have my respect and gratitude for all you do on their behalf.

Hang in there!

And the countdown is at 56 days until the cruise!!! :woohoo:

We actually will leave that Thursday night before so only 54 days until we are officially on vacation. I think I may try to take a ½ day off on Thursday to go home and try to take a nap. If we have the car loaded Wednesday night and ready to go then I can take a nap and pick up the kids and DH right at 4:30 as he gets off work and hit the road. I was actually thinking that maybe we could just eat dinner in the car rather than making a stop so we could make better time. Last year DD was too young to eat in the car but I think she could probably manage a decent meal now. ;)

I:

Becka, we have a WONDERFUL book called The Next Exit. You can get it at thenextexit.com. It lists what is at every exit on every interstate highway in the nation. We have found when we travel with young kids that going thru a drive thru a mile or so before a rest stop then stopping at the rest stop to eat works really, really well. The kids do not have to sit at the rest stop like they do in a restaurant, but can run off some energy. Rest stops are quick and easy off and on the freeway. I find a rest stop in my Next Exit book then back track an exit or so and find a McD or something. This book is the absolute BEST roadtrip tool ever invented. I also highlight the Arco stations from here to CA because the gas is usually about 10 cents cheaper at those. We plan our gas stops with that book too. :thumbsup2

One of the nurses came in and gave them surgical gloves, masks and bandaids and on the way home I look in the rearview mirror to see Samantha decked out in the mask and gloves and leaning over to administer bandaging Haley's leg. It was hilarious!
:lmao: :rotfl2: too cute! :rotfl:

OK I was crusin' my TA's website thinking about my 08 cruise. I found a likely RCCL as a checkpoint for comparison but also found this...

11 day Hawaiian cruise leaving Dec 9, '06 for 1,583 for all three passengers. Airfare for 3 would be about 1,041. That's a total of 2,624 for flight and and 11 day cruise.

Yikes! But then again there would be no Mickey and no DIS geeks. So it would be no fun!
Well, what if DIS geeks all went together on an 11 Hawaiian. :thumbsup2 We would have our on CJS but would need to figure out how to get Mickey on board. ;)

OK - ONE more post before I go to bed - the phone just rang, and I have to share my own good news (usually when the phone rings at midnight it is not always good news . . .)

Alex just called, and he got his MCAT results (Medical School Entrance Exam). He had to pass this test (they get three tries) in order to keep his seat for the medical school and enter the medical school. And, BTW, it costs over $200 each time to take it.

This was his first try.

You have to score at least average on the MCAT to be admitted to the medical school - which is a score of 24 - at least 8 on each of three sections. 45 is perfect.

Alex got a 35!

Woohooo! :thumbsup2

Now he can relax through the rest of the year, and get decent grades without worrying about getting in to the med school next year. All this at just a little over 19 years old (most take it their junior year of college - at about age 21) - he is an amazing kid, and we are very proud of him.

Had to share with my closest friends!

John1

WOW! Way to go Alex!! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Hmmm.....let's see. If I don't eat a single thing between now and Dec. 9th, could I look like Todd's wife?

Nah.....'aint gonna happen.

(Do they have a little green-with-envy smilie?)
I could not eat for the next 2 years and still not look like Todd's wife! Todd, she really is beautiful!

Oh my! This reminded me. We had the "opportunity" to sit in the parking lot at the Navy Seal Training Facility at San Diego a few years ago. (DD had a friend there that we stopped in to visit). WOW! Now those guys were BUFF!! :thumbsup2 Whoa, Daddy! :teeth:
