I had the boys in tuxes last year and dh and my Dad rented, they all looked so handsome! I bought the little tuxes on eBay for about $25 each and found them patent leather (fake/pleather) shoes at Wal-Mart for $10 each. this year we are skipping formal night altogether and putting the kids in the club while we have dinner at Palo. We'll probably do tuxes again next time we go, but if we start going anually like we want to, I don't want to have a closet full of tuxedos in every size!

:wave2:

We will be in Palo that evening as well. I didn't see you listed on the website and I thought we might be the only DISers dining there that evening. :)

We have none here. No ads on T.V., very few signs and those are for local races. No phone calls, nothing. I think the republican party should just pick who they want and skip the whole election thing. Oh wait, they do that already! We never even see 1 presidential ad.

That is because Utah is firmly planted in the Republican column. They don't need to spend a dime out there to win so they don't. You should try to live in a swing state! :sad2: We can't escape the ads....

OK - here's an eye opener for all you warm weather people (this means you V).

This morning when I left for work at 6:30, it was 43.

When I went home for lunch it was 37.

Right now, it is SNOWING outside our office windows!

Here comes winter - heading your way Easterners!

The weather people have been telling us it will switch overnight in the Philly area. I am wearing shorts today (in the 70s). Frost/freeze warning overnight tonight.

DS was actually a little happier with his homework. Last night the teacher sent him home with the 3rd grade worksheet for him to do. He started saying it was still easy then he got down to the third problem and said "WHOA! I have to use my brain a little bit for this one!:" :lmao: I think that he appreciates the fact that his teacher gave this to him. Honestly, it is still pretty simple for him but he doesn't have to write out the number lables...which he hates because it is "just so stupid." He enjoyed solving the double digit addition equations "in his mind" without showing the work carrying the numbers. :) He had me make up more.

Lisa, he sounds like my dad as a child. When my dad was little, he did long division in his head, so he would just write the answer down on the paper with no work. He thought it was a waste of time to write anything down like that when it was so simple. His teacher accused him of cheating and said no one could do long division in thier head. Well, this made him very angry so they got the principal and the teacher tried to prove that he had cheated by giving him long division problems to do in front of the principal. I bet that teacher felt so embarrased after dad did them all....

Tell DS that sometimes people are better at something than others and that he is just really good at math. Because he is so good at it, teachers might not understand how he is thinking and that's why they want him to write it down.

I have to ask-- Anyone else think something's not quite right with the Dancing With The Stars show? I've noticed the last few weeks they've been kicking off people who really can dance and they're leaving behind the people who can't! Jerry Springer and Sara Evans come to mind. Now I can see Jerry sticking around a while because even though he isn't the best dancer he's still trying and is VERY entertaining to watch, but Sara Evans??? She really is the worst dancer on the show yet she's NEVER even been in the bottom 2. What's up with that? I'm annoyed because the show doesn't seem to have anything to do with who can dance but rather who has the biggest fan base voting for them. :sad2:

Sorry, just had to get that off my chest.

Kind of reminds you of politics, doesn't it? :sad2:

I am sure there is a better seafood place there. When I lived at the beach my boss would get annoyed with people who ate are Red Lobster! All of the places with fresh and delicious seafood...and they go to Red Lobster! :rotfl:

I do like to go there every now and then... but after our bad experience there with the kids....we go alone!!!!

Did you all know that red lobster is owned by the same company as Olive Garden. Darden Restaurants...... They have also been testing a restaurant called 550. Every meal has only 550 calories and the menu changes every week....

Well, remember you get to divide the cost between the two girls, so each costume is really only $9.

I like your way of thinking! :thumbsup2 If I had only known with the first one that I was going to have three girls... :rolleyes1

It is a lightweight sweater that is like a thick strapped (not thin or spaghetti) tank top.

I have a hard enough time finding the right weather for a short sleeved sweater. :teeth:

Flag Idea - ......get that velcro tape stuff....stick the one side to your flag...stick the other side to the window and then velcro it up anytime you need. At the end of the cruise...the velcro tape will come off the wall and the flag.

Now - still haven't figured out how I'm gonna put ours up on the verandah..

CJS - any ideas on that?

dUCT tAPE :lmao: :lmao: ...i AM BRINGING ZIP TIES i THINK ...or Velcro

Todd, I thought we covered the duct tape issue. You would never be able to open your veranda door without nose plugs...

Cruise-related question -- Anyone else with boys......you are bringing/renting tuxes for formal night?

We've done this on the longer cruises, but I was kind of hoping to forgo it this time. But, I don't want to skip eating in the dining room. Could youngest DS get by with a pair of nice khakis and a dark navy sport coat (with shirt/tie) on Formal night? Or do I bite the bullet and rent 'em again?

Older DS now has a black suit that could almost pass for a tux.

DH will wear whatever I tell him. :rotfl2:

(Well, not anything.....I'm pretty sure he'd give thumbs down to a banana outfit!)

We bought our Boys theres for the June Cruise ...Looks like they can use them again for the Dec cruise ....On formal the only way to go is TUX

It was DH! He found that I have been not only chatting with strange geeky internet people, but that I have also actually MET some of them!! He then had the nerve to pretend he was me while I was passed out from exhaustion and decided to make people not like me! The nerve of him! :stir: Bad, bad DH!
