tynkerbell said:Yep, it's frustrating when I'm getting the kids ready for school because it's so chilly in the morning but by the time I pick them up it's warm. DS wants to wear shorts to school still but I know when he's outside in the morning he'll be cold.

They are sending out letters to keep the kids at home. What a message to send to K students and others.

lbgraves said:Jodie, I believe that it is called a krenlin? You could ship it to the warehouse & have it delivered to your room. Do this via FedEx so that insurance is on it...you can add insurance for anything over a $100 value at a VERY low cost...cents on the dollar. When you get to your room, give it to your stateroom host to have it pressed. IMO there is not going to be a place on the plane for you to put it without it being "squished.
Another option....you are staying at a resort before the cruise, right? Just ship it there & carry it onto the ship with you in the box and have it pressed. The cost of pressing is half of cleaning. IMO they should be able to handle something delicate like that if they can clean tuxes & formal evening gowns.

There are only so many days you can strike...but in reality...it is a lot. We were on strike from the first day of school (last week of August) until the end of September. We went back the first day of October. Then we went to school EVERY DAY!!! Except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Memorial Day, and Good Friday. We even had school on Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas. We went on strike again in January. Our school year did not end until the last day of June! It was horrible!!!!87Heel said:Hope your strike (if it happens) is resolved quickly. In PA there's a limit on how many days the strike can last (right, Brandi?) and a series of negotiation procedures that must take place.
Our strike was in 2001 and we had to make up all the missed days--spring break and most of the Monday holidays had to be used to make up the days. That was the year I was PTO president and unfortunately I had to be very careful to have no opinion or it might be construed to be a PTO stance. We had to remain neutral.
BuzzBoyMom said:Okay - there's got to be a Dis law that you guys can't post 56 pages....56 pages... and have a lady with PMS try to catch up....You're asking for trouble. I'm warning everyone now!

lbgraves said:I am having major issues with our school. I will have to elaborate more later. My biggest issue is that my DD doesn't want to go to school because she is afraid of a kid in her class. I talked to the principal about it & feel like my concerns were dismissed. I do not feel that my child is safe in the school. I have never felt that way before.![]()
Does this boy have a physical or mental disability? We have had some situations similar to this with some disabled children. Legally you need to go through some pretty strict channels with lots of paper work to move them. If he doesn't have any disabilities...I don't understand that.lbgraves said:So...DD & the kids in her class have been instructed to run out into the hall way when the "bad kid" does something to threaten them. So far his favorite thing to do is pick up a chair and hold it above his head then throw it. I really don't want her in the same class with him but that would require me to take her away from her teachers & friends to go in another class & that would be stressful for both of us. She stopped crying in the mornings a couple weeks ago. I really do not want her to go thru that again. This is the same kid who threatened her & another girl that he was going to bring a knife to school & cut them.![]()
becka said:We did room service breakfast twice on our last cruise. It was especially nice on our CC day as it allowed us to be the first ones off the ship.DS still remembers how they brought him donuts in the mornings and he has big plans to have donuts delivered to him every morning.
