This is just so typical, I just get caught up and everyone is leaving...it took a long time to catch up tonight! Anyone still around?

Today was just beautiful here in Minnesota so we took the boat out on the river, had a picnic lunch on a beach and had a great time. The marina was really crowded, everyone must be thinking it's the last nice weekend of the year. I'm still hoping for nice weather next weekend too because the trees haven't quite reached peak color and I want to take some fall color pics on the river next weekend.

Now I'm doing laundry and catching up on DIS, eBay and all the other essential online activities. I booked my ticket to a girlfriends getaway in at a beach house in Nags Head, NC in three weeks. I really left it until the last minute but kept thinking the airfare was just outrageous and prices would decrease. I finally broke down and used frequent flier miles. I'm flying into Norfolk, VA if anyone is in that area.

Halloween.. the boys will be Peter and Edmund Pevensie from Chronicles of Narnia. I got the costumes at disneystore.com -- so cute!!!

We usually do a quick once around with the neighborhood buddies and then go to a Harvest Party thing at church that the teenagers put on for the younger kids, it's like a carnival with lots of little games for tickets, prizes, candy, etc. Lots of sports games, pretend fishing thing, I think there is even a cakewalk. The kids love it and it keeps the teens busy too.

This year we might go to a zoo boo thing at a local Zoo with some of the boys' friends.

I really like to go somewhere because I can't stand handing out candy! It is fun at first when the neighborhood kids are out, but then by about 7:30 or so we start getting carloads of older kids that are not from the neighborhood. Why would you drive to a different neighborhood to get free candy? Some have parents with them, some are just older kids that can drive. We can turn out the lights but they still keep ringing the bell, they don't take hints well, lol.

I use to live there. You only have a little over an hours drive. If you go thru Chesapeake be careful on the long 2 lane road into NC...be sure to put your lights on. We live about 2-3 hours away now because we would have to take a ferry to get there.

I am really looking forward to this trip! One of my friends who is coming from Louisiana is meeting me in Norfolk and we will drive together, she should be a good co-pilot. Did you live in Nags Head or in Norfolk Lisa? I have never spent time in either area and they both look beautiful! We have the beach house for 4 days but I have 1 night before and 1 night after to spend in Norfolk. I was thinking of staying at the Waterfront Mariott for the night before and the night after but if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them!

I grew up in Norfolk, but we didn't go downtown. Be careful out there! The Waterside area is convenient. They have a nice mall there now...the MacArthur Center or something like that.

22 women in a house on the beach with a hot tub... and a blender for frou frou drinks -- the weather won't matter much. As long as it's not raining I will be happy! Thanks for the tip on the art museum I will check it out!

OK, I think I just bought the last of the goodies for the boys' birthday party. Phew! I placed an order at Oriental Trading and I also got a bunch of red and green swizzle glow necklaces for the boys to give out at the MVMCP parade, plus some pirate things for pirate night and holiday themed bubble bottles for everyone's stockings.

I found the cutest stuff on eBay for the birthday party. There are several people doing custom candy wrappers, thank you stickers for lollipops, etc. All with the Disney cars theme to go with the party. And so cheap compared to the time and ideas I would need to make them myself.

ok, shopping done for tonight! Now I am going to go clean my office (it is a disaster area), finish the laundry and head to bed. Goodnight everyone!
