Angie - you had asked me to report back about the HOB gospel brunch - the food is excellent. I ate a lot. Down home and good!!!

The gospel was ok - good singers - trying to be a little to everyone - Elton John gospel-fied - a few too many Amens. The kids danced, plus it was fun to walk around the west side since we don't often get there.

I would go again for the food.

Thanks, Elaine. We always fly in on Sunday and arrive late then leave Saturday right after the cruise so we always miss it. Maybe someday we will fly down on Saturday.

Actually my father had 3 daughters so we all watched a lot of sports with him - mostly football and basketball and the Mets. When you grow up in NYC you don't really follow college sports because most of them stink or don't have teams.

WOW is everyone else sick?

hubby is away at a family party and I am house/babysitting.

Caroline when is your DD's birthday?

You know, we weren't allowed to wear jeans or shorts to Church growing up. Noone did then. I honestly don't care what someone else wears BUT I am just too uncomfortable to wear either one of them even now. My kids dress up for Church too. I guess that we are greatly affected by how we grew up.

I don't have any trouble with what I wear to church because I have my mind made up for me ..... we wear uniforms in The Salvation Army church services. For Easter I get a new black tie! :woohoo:

My baby naming story is that after my double poke (amnio) of the twins - I was told I was having 2 girls. The first several weeks (Ultrasounds) we spent coming up with boys names because we were told it was 2 boys. On delivery morning - Giona arrived first - sans middle name. They chased us around the hospital until I was released trying to get the birth certificate filled out. I was too tired to read the baby book - we basically looked through A-C and chose Ayden because I was just too tired.

Todd - I did order a pirate sign but have not ordered a banner yet. I received the sign and the kids costumes - so we are beginning to put things together.

Great being able to chat with you all last night even if I joined late. I still never figured out who was buying a softsided hot tub or how the subject came up :confused3 . I did get the impression some might wake up with a headache. The east coasters closed the chat at 1A, Caroline was the ultimate closer as it appeared she forgot to sign out - did you Caroline? I hope the kids are doing better this evening. Tana rejoined us and we want to get her to rent the original Poseidon with Ernest B. Hey is anyone game for a large conference call?

Angie good luck with the grape mashing. I had a vivid image of the I Love Lucy episode and wondered whether you were tempted ;) that or an ad for shout it out.

Elaine - welcome back! Yes, I forgot that you had gone to WDW. I hope you all had a great trip. I am still behind reading - I'm still on Thursday/Friday I think. Yes, you are correct - no yard sale/bake sales for me. I don't have the patience. I wish I could.

Brandi bummer with the coal delivery - all of that work at the yard sale but at the same time - you were able to turn money you already spent into something for the future (even if it was gobbled back up). That is a cool thing.

Kim, DD starts skating this month. She is getting on my nerves asking about it every week. Is this the week? Is this the week?!

April - WOW. Congrats.

Lisa - How is DD? I am crossing my fingers that no one else needs the bucket - least of all you. DD has been unusually whiny - so I am hoping that she doesn't come down with anything. I think I would need to run away if that happened. :lmao:

John, the CRV - we did make it there at 9A! We went to Panera's after and then DH took DD to Karate at which point I crashed for 3 hours! Anyway re the CRV:
I like the inside much more than the old CRV. I was surprised I liked the outside because I thought the pictures were "ok". A lot of the new EX touches were much nicer. Two weird EX missing items were Honda not adding the dual climate and electric seat adjust but at least they got rid of that wheel turning adjustment - I really disliked it. I like the changes to the console and it does not feel closed in. We chose the Accord EX V6 3 yrs ago over the CRV or the Pilot so I was really curious what I would or would not like. By the way, I do like the mp3 auxillary - I will admit I love the idea of no more moving Monster cable from car to car ;) . Both DH and I drove it. I have long legs and he has a long torso so that is why we commented on the seat adjust. I am always moving the seat back while he moves it forward. :rolleyes1
Overall it is a nice nice city drive the dilemna is the horses. They upped it a little and we live by a highway and anyone living in MA will tell you what its like trying to merge onto our highways. We are spoiled with the V6 because merge is a breeze. We went on the highway with the CRV and while we were able to merge and then pass you could really hear it working at it.
We previously drove the 2006 RAV4 and I must say I loved the power of that car. As DH said it really is an overkill of power but it was fun.
So many things to think about here.

We talked about the Acura - not crazy about the turbo and premium gas, same with the new Mazda. We'll probably drive them. We discussed getting another Accord and that is when I realized I really would like an SUV because I felt disappointed. I love our Accord - actually that is what we planned to replace until the Saturn let us know its 10 years had been good but were now going to cost money.

Okay - enough of my novelette. Still thinking and perusing...

Carla,

My one big tip on ice skating. Take gloves and a sweater and plan on having a sore behind the first day....

Elaine, she has freestyle skating lessons on wed for 45 minutes, she has basic skills lessons on saturday for from 3-3:30, then from 3:45 - 4:15 she has on her own practice. From 4:15 - 4:45 she has group lessons. On competition weeks, she has two additional freestyle lessons and practice skate the day of.

Carla, we bought the Acura MDX last friday if you have any questions....

5+-9+6--5+-8--10

Can be also be:

5+(-9)+6-(-5)+(-8)-(-10) or

(5-9)+(6-(-5))+(-8)+10 or

5-9+[(1/2)0]+(1)(6)+5-5+5+(-1)(8)-(-10)

Do I need to go on or have I sufficiently scared enough of you already? :rotfl:

Can we work this into a derivative problem?

We found out about DS in February. We didn't tell either parent until April when we made trips to both houses a week apart. LOL! I had to make sure that I had on leggings and a big baggy shirt & sat down alot until they were both home & we could tell them.

I told my parents early, because of my health issues, but I did not tell my boss or any coworkers until I was 7 months pregnant. I was sick a lot so I only gained 9 pounds. I never even bought any new clothes..... I did however, gain 50 after being pregnant. Wierd, everything just tasted sooo good again!!

hello all

just got done catching up with all the post. sorry i have not posted much but i have been going through ALL my clothes. almost 5 huge rubber maid bins i am getting rid of since they no longer fit. hard to believe i have lost 100 pounds in less than 4 months (ps i had gastric bypass).

hard part is, is that i do not know what size i will be come dec. i hoping i can find some shorts when i get to florida and hopefully i can find a formal around thanksgiving time that is not too winterish.

Jill

ps someone asked who was who in the pic of the girls

Alex is the tallest
Amber is in white with short sleeves
autumn is in front wearing black (the short one)
sammy is in spaghetti strap white dress

I really wanted to have that. I asked and everything. Dr. said no. How long did it take you to feel better? Talbots online is having great sales, so is lauren by ralph lauren on shorts if you want to guess....

Not sure which one we were talking about . . .

Maybe Robert A. Heinlen?

Books . . . "Time Enough for Love" one of my favorites, but you may want to read "Methusala's Children" first - it is actually a short novel that the second one took off from.

Heinlen was a contemporary of authors like Isaac Asimov - another one of my favorites. Heinlen also wrote "Stranger in a Strange Land".

Oh yeah, just remembered, I also mentioned the book "A Canticle for Lebowicz" which is another one of my favorite SF books from long ago. A classic.

Kim, I think you would like these too, if you haven't already read them.

John1

writing these down now... I love a good recommendation on a book! Thank you!!!!
