What are you getting done?

Just a facial and the noche azul massage. The nice thing is that you can use all their facilities even if you only get one little treatment done. In the past I've had days where I get one treatment and days where I get the full 5 hour day long pampering. But that get get expensive. I'm overdue on a massage b/c my very local massage therapist had to quit due to illness. I usuallly do regular massages with her every 5 weeks and then spa treatments as needed.

OK, the port roast is in the crock pot! Pork Carnitas for dinner. Really easy......green chillis, onion, garlic, taco seasoning, 1 lb roast, and a cup of water. High for 6 hours and then shread the roast. Mix the liquid mixture with the shreaded pork then spoon onto tortillas. Top with sour cream, lettuce (if you are brave enough....we aren't eatting any green leaves until they figure this outbreak thing out), tomatoes, lime juice. Voila! :)
Yum! That sounds delicious!!!!

What happened to the trailer Angie?? This can't lug a trailer! Or are you lugging this with the trailer? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Very nice! :thumbsup2
So plan B would be a motorhome with this on a tow trailer to run around in when we are visiting all you folks across the country! :car:

Oh Angie - another great trick.

But what happens when he goes looking for the food?
Reheated the crockpot roast from night before with some sliced cantalope added. :teeth: Shhh. Don't tell him, but he did say something like deja vu. :lmao:

PJ I'm bummed that didn't work out for you. I'm no scrapper but I was looking forward to seeing what y'all came up with.

I also get tired of seeing premade DCL cruise scrapbook pages on Ebay. Is it just me or is that cheating?
I personally think that is cheating! I always make my own pages....I have done swaps but I have done very little scrapping lately. I have been so darn busy with the kids.

Ohhh, I could see this two ways.

Angie and Dennis with an enormous Motorhome towing a Saturn Skye visiting grandkids and disboard friends.

or

the Skye towing a Teardrop Trailer.

The Teardrop is an Tiny Tiny trailer that sleeps Two  and has a hatch on the back for the kitchen. They come in several sizes, some small enough for a motercycle to tow.

Sorry Angie, no shower or potty on board.
:lmao: :rotfl2: Either way works for me, but I think DrHug would like the motorhome route better.

The way things have been going for you, you deserve it GF!

PJ, we could start working on pages now, couldn't we? Playing with backgrounds & such? Maybe get together a list of ideas for page themes like Pirate night, each DIS excursion, Jodie's wedding, the terminal, etc. We could sign up for the themes. I know this has been discussed before but are there sites where you can design a basic page without getting alot of software?

The memory book is Dennis' baby, I am just bring a page or two to the shower. :rotfl: I think Angie posted that it would be great to have families submit a personal page and that some of us could work on group activity pages as well.

Pj

Patsy, yeah the pre-made pages are a great idea for making some money, if you really enjoy scrapping, and don't have any photos of your own to scrap. But the person buying them, really loses out on the whole personalization of their story.

You guys were chatty last night! I am still not feeling all that great again today. I took some Nyquil last night so I know I got sleep but I still feel pretty run down. I hate being sick! I last checked the board when I left work and then did not get online again yesterday. I will confess that I mostly just skimmed the posts from last night. I don’t even feel good enough to read them all. :sad2:

I will try to catch up here a little but forgive me for forgetting a few things because I can’t possibly remember everything I just skimmed that I wanted to comment on.

Brandi – Great pics of you and your kids! I love your dress – it has such a pretty color of blue. I am glad you enjoyed your spa experiences. It makes me anxious for mine. I wonder if I should add on a facial with my mani/pedi before the trip? My DD is also paper-eater and a laundry basket kid too!

V – I would be so  about your pool! It sounds like it has been one nightmare after another for you guys lately. I really hope you are able to get it straightened out.

Chocolate dipped bananas --- not going to go there…. ;) :rotfl:

Elaine – Hello Dalai :rotfl:

Cars – It sounds like a lot of us have Honda CR-Vs. I really love mine. We have had it for over 6 years and it has about 78k on it right now. I hope we can get another 3-4 years out of it. DH drives a 92? Dodge Dynasty that his parents gave to us after DD was born. I really hope it hangs in there for another year or so. We hope to get another car after DS starts school. That will free some money in our budget for a car payment. I would love a Honda Odyssey but have not made a final decision. I know I really want a mini-van of some kind.

Lisa – The carnitas sound wonderful! Do you just use a pork roast for that?

For those who are interested they are showing the 2 hour GA finale this evening. I hope I can stay awake long enough tonight to watch it.

Well I should get back to work. The good news is that I can take more medicine in an hour and 15 minutes…how sad am I? :sad2:

Lisa, your carnitas recipe sounds sooooo good! I will have to try that. I think I need a smaller crock pot. Mine is the big oval 6 qt and I hate lugging it out.... Maybe I will throw it in stoneware in the oven instead -- easier to clean!!

Becka, yes, it is just a port tenderloin roast that I cut up into 1 pound pieces. It was frozen this morning. :) LOVE that I learned I could do that. :) :) :)

Okay - I'll bring them lime green cupcakes with bananas on top. Will they understand?
They only know a little ... and since they're paying for our cruise, we're not going to scare them away!!!!! :thumbsup2

Hey Kristina ... probably different kind of therapy, but my kids school is doing Reading with Therapy dogs.
:goodvibes

Yes, the group i was talking about is involved with that program too.

They do nursing home visits, hospice visits, the reading assistance therapy visits, and visit a school nearby that deals with autistic children.

Right now their training classes occur on Saturdays for the next 7 weeks.

i probably need to wait for the session falling after our vacation or until they have a weeknight i can go to.

Lisa, I've done that same pork carnitas recipe. DH and I really liked it; the kids weren't in love with it. Bummer, because I made a bigger tenderloin, so it was a lot of leftovers for us.
I have a basic beef roast in the crockpot today! Lots of gravy in the works, so I'm thinking mashed potatoes...
Tonight is back to school night at DD8's school. And DD8 starts her art class again, so I better remember the right pickup time!!! :rolleyes1

I need to make a confession. I HATE buying cars. DH thinks my car is getting to scary and thinks it may be unreliable this winter. DH is usually the cheapskate of the month, but we have role reversal on cars. How many miles do you all think a car can have before it starts to be questionable?

Honestly I think it depends on the make of the car. I just had to trade in my Dodge, it had 48k miles on it, was 6 years old and was starting to run like junk. I've had the same experience with Ford and Pontiac. I traded in for a Toyota Camry because my dad had a Toyota that was still running like new at 100k miles and DH has a 3 year old Tacoma that hasn't given him an ounce of trouble, other than needing a new battery. I've heard Toyotas, Hondas and Nissans are VERY reliable and can be driven past 100k miles but some people are against not buying American cars.

MICKEY PLAN

Scrapbookers, I hope no one has purchased supplies for this one yet. Due to low interested, I think it best to scrap this particular event.

I really love Dr. Hugs' (Dennis) idea for a digital memory book that we could do digital pages toward. It would be one less package to pack and many of us are already taking so much with us already.

Pj

I vote for the electronic version. Thanks PJ.

We don't have a Target. :sad2: Closest one is 45 minutes away.

I don't think I could live anywhere that wasn't close to a Target. ;) I LOVE that store! It doesn't hurt that I met DH working at Target though, so lots of fond memories. :lovestruc
